Chapter 581 Don't Think About Inheriting the Stoll Family

Sharon nodded, "Got it. Be careful."

As they entered the hall, Andrew headed towards Carolyn's study, while Sharon went back to her room.

Just as she reached the second floor, Daisy was waiting for her.

Daisy glared at her, jealousy written all over her face. "Where'd you and Andrew go for dinner?"

When Sharon and Andrew left, Daisy had wanted to follow them. But just as she was about to leave, the butler informed her that Carolyn had not only canceled her credit card but also taken back her driver and car.

Carolyn had also left a message for Daisy through the butler: whenever Daisy came to her senses, her credit card and car would be reinstated.

Daisy had thrown a tantrum and locked herself in her room for over an hour. It wasn't until Carolyn returned that she went downstairs to confront her, but to no avail. Carolyn controlled the finances, and without her approval, Daisy had no other options but to be angry.

Sharon's expression was cold. "You sure you wanna make things worse for yourself?"

Daisy's face fell, and she gritted her teeth. "I told you to tell me!"

"Well, I'm not gonna."

"You!"Sharon stepped closer, whispering, "The person who poured cold water on me the other day, was that your doing?"

Daisy snorted. "So what if it was?"

She wasn't afraid of Sharon knowing. If Carolyn cared about Sharon, she would have punished Daisy already. The entire estate was under Carolyn's control; she wouldn't be unaware of Daisy's actions against Sharon.

Sharon smiled. "It means Andrew probably wouldn't like a girl as nasty as you."

Daisy's expression changed, her gaze towards Sharon filled with rage.

"Say that again?"

"Didn't you hear me the first time?"

Sharon walked past her towards her bedroom, with Daisy angrily chasing after her.

"Sharon, don't think that just because Andrew had dinner with you, he likes you. He could never like you!"

Sharon nodded. "Right, if that's what you think, why are you so desperate to know where we had dinner?"

"I'm worried Andrew might be deceived by a bad woman like you!"

"Really?"

"Anyway, you better not go out with him again, or I won't let you off!"

Sharon didn't take Daisy's threats seriously. She doubted Daisy could do anything more than petty tricks to annoy her.

Soon, they reached Sharon's bedroom door. She opened it and looked at Daisy. "Wanna come in and sit?"

Daisy stopped abruptly, her face full of disdain. "I wouldn't go in there. I can imagine how shabby it must be."

Sharon nodded. "Then I won't see you out."

With that, she walked into her room and closed the door.

Daisy stared at the closed door, her eyes filled with dissatisfaction. After a while, she finally left.

In the study.

Carolyn looked at Andrew. "I heard you had dinner with Sharon today?"

Andrew smiled. "Yeah, Ms. Roach has a great personality. We had a pleasant time."

"That's good. I called you here mainly to talk about Daisy."

Carolyn shook her head with a hint of helplessness. "I've spoiled Daisy. She often acts recklessly. I've scolded her, and she won't interfere with your lessons for Sharon anymore. As for what she said, it's just childishness. I hope you don't take it to heart."

Andrew's eyes darkened slightly, then he smiled more deeply. "Carolyn , don't worry. I've always seen Daisy as a little sister."

Carolyn smiled, satisfied with the answer. "Good. You must have other things to attend to, so I won't keep you."

"Alright, Carolyn. Goodbye."

After Andrew left, Carolyn was about to continue working when the butler suddenly knocked and entered.

"Mrs. Stoll, Gareth got into a fight with someone from the Bermad Family at the bar last night."

Carolyn's expression changed, and she stood up abruptly. "What happened? Where is he now?"

The butler's expression was serious. "He was detained by the Bermad Family last night. I just received a call from them asking us to go and get him."

Carolyn's eyes filled with anger. "What an idiot!"

The Bermad Family had been the Stoll family's biggest rival for years. Gareth not only didn't avoid them but also started a conflict. He was a complete fool!

The Bermad family called, asking them to come over to pick Gareth up, which was nothing short of humiliating for Carolyn. Moreover, with Gareth in their hands, they would surely use this opportunity to extort them.

If Gareth weren't her son, Carolyn would have let him fend for himself.

"Prepare the car."

An hour later, Carolyn was sitting in Ross Bermad's study.

"Ross, what will it take for you to release Gareth?"

Ross, with his graying hair and deeply lined face, had sharp blue eyes that revealed his shrewdness.

He smiled. "Carolyn, Gareth hit someone from our family. Shouldn't there be some compensation? Otherwise, if word gets out, our family's reputation will be tarnished."

Carolyn's expression was cold. "Name your terms."

"I heard the Stoll family recently bought a piece of land in the South."

Carolyn's face turned extremely grim. "That land is not negotiable."

She had bought that land to serve as the Stoll family's new base, planning to gradually move the family south. Moreover, the land wasn't purchased under the Stoll family's name, yet Ross had found out.

Ross sighed. "I can offer 10% above the original price to buy that land from you."

"No."

Seeing Carolyn's resolute expression, Ross's face fell.

"If there's no deal, then if Gareth ends up missing an arm or a leg, you can't blame me. After all, young people fighting can sometimes get out of hand."

Carolyn's face changed, and she angrily said, "Are you threatening me?"

Ross smiled. "I'm not threatening you, Carolyn. It's your choice. I have other guests coming soon, so I won't see you out."

With that, Ross stood up and left.

Watching his back, Carolyn gritted her teeth. "Wait!"

Half an hour later, Carolyn walked towards the estate's entrance, her face grim, with a bruised and battered Gareth following dejectedly behind her.

Once they were in the car, Gareth mustered the courage to look at Carolyn. "Mom, I'm sorry for causing you..."

"Shut up! Gareth, if you make such a foolish mistake again, don't even think about inheriting the Stoll family!"

Gareth was startled by Carolyn's icy expression. He knew he had really messed up this time and lowered his head, not daring to speak again.

On the way back to the estate, neither of them spoke, the atmosphere in the car heavy and tense.

When the car stopped at the estate's entrance, Carolyn didn't even look at him, pushing the door open and leaving.

Gareth quickly followed, trailing Carolyn to her study door. She turned impatiently. "Why are you following me? Go find the family doctor to treat your wounds."

Gareth looked at Carolyn with guilt. "Mom, I'm sorry. I was wrong before. I'll listen to you from now on."

Carolyn ignored him, pushing open the study door and closing it behind her.

Meanwhile, at Ross's estate.

Not long after Carolyn and Gareth left, a black Maybach drove into the estate.

As the car stopped, a servant immediately stepped forward to open the rear door.

Seb got out of the car, and the servant bowed. "Mr. Smith, Mr. Bermad has been expecting you."

Led by the servant, Seb walked through the hall and down a long corridor to Ross's study door.

The servant knocked, and hearing Ross's voice from inside, opened the door.

"Mr. Smith, please come in."

"Thank you."

Seb entered the study, and the servant gently closed the door, waiting outside for their conversation to end.

Ross was painting. He looked up at Seb and smiled. "Come, tell me what you think of this painting."

Seb stepped forward, looking at the landscape painting spread out on the table.

Ross's painting was mediocre, both in technique and meaning, only half-finished.

"Average. It wouldn't sell for 5 dollars."

Ross laughed heartily, putting down his brush. "Only you would tell me the truth. Others would find ways to praise it, maybe even offer a million dollars to buy it."

"If someone offered a million dollars, they wouldn't be buying the painting."

They'd be buying a connection with the Bermad Family.

Ross shook his head, walking around the table to the sofa. "Sit."

He personally made Seb a cup of tea, smiling. "Carolyn was here earlier. She agreed to give me the land in the South."

Seb lowered his gaze, unsurprised by the outcome.

Even Gareth's conflict with the Bermad Family last night was orchestrated by Seb.

"Without that land, her plan to move the Stoll family south will be delayed, giving us more time."

As long as Carolyn was removed from her position as the Stoll family's leader, she would no longer be an obstacle between him and Sharon.

Ross nodded. "But she's still Sharon's mother. Are you sure you want to leave her with nothing?"

Having known Carolyn for years, Ross understood her well. Without the Stoll family, she would definitely struggle to hold on..

"She never treated Sharon as her daughter. And you've met Sharon; you know her personality."

Ross smiled. "Yes, even though she only stayed here for a day, having her play chess with me made life more interesting. Are you sure you don't want to bring her and Demetrius to settle in Stellaria? After this is over, we could be neighbors."

"No, I still prefer living in the home."

Besides, Sharon's friends were all there. Moving abroad would mean she had to make new friends, which wouldn't be fair to her.
