Chapter 391 I Won't Bother You Anymore

At that moment, Ariana suddenly felt a deep connection through their shared struggles.

Noticing Ariana's mood shift, Kirk's eyes flickered with a shadow. He sighed, "Ariana, I swear, I have no hidden agenda. Helping you is like helping my past self when I was lost. I just don't want to see you get hurt."

Ariana pressed her lips together, feeling a bit touched.

But she still felt that she and Kirk were different. Even though they were both outcasts in their families, Ariana didn't want to become someone as shady as Kirk.

Ariana looked at Kirk and said slowly, "Mr. Marshall, thanks a lot, but I'd rather handle this on my own."

Kirk looked disappointed and gave a bitter smile, "You still don't trust me, do you?"

Ariana didn't speak, clearly indicating her agreement.

Disappointment flashed in Kirk's eyes as he lowered his head and said slowly, "Fine, since you don't want my help, I won't bother you anymore."

Watching him turn and leave, Ariana's eyes flashed a trace of hesitation.

After all, Kirk's sad look didn't seem fake. What if he really just wanted to help her?

But in a moment, Ariana dismissed the thought.

Whether Kirk wanted to help her or not, Ariana didn't want to get involved with him or owe him more.

As these thoughts crossed her mind, Ariana's initial anxiety began to fade, and a calmness settled over her face.

Ariana packed her things, turned off the light, locked the door, and left.

There were many pedestrians on the way home tonight, which gave Ariana a sense of security.

Even if someone wanted to harm her, they wouldn't dare to do it in a crowded place.

But Ariana knew she couldn't always be on guard like this. She had to find a way to make Garth and Blanca realize they couldn't gain anything from her, so they would stop bothering her.

As Ariana was thinking, a panicked shout suddenly came from beside her.

"Ariana, watch out!"

Before Ariana could react, someone pushed her hard, causing her to fall to the side.

As she fell, Ariana watched in horror as a motorcycle crashed into Kirk.

Ariana's eyes widened in shock, filled with panic and disbelief.

Why would Kirk help her like this?

After hitting Kirk, the motorcycle made a sharp turn and quickly disappeared from sight.

However, as the motorcycle turned, Ariana clearly saw the face of the rider—it was Leandro from her village!

Leandro had been an orphan since childhood, dropped out of school in his teens, and had a history of theft. Ariana couldn't believe Blanca had hired Leandro!

But at that moment, Ariana couldn't worry about calling the police. Ignoring the pain, she got up and rushed to Kirk's side, "Mr. Marshall, are you alright? I'll take you to the hospital!"

Kirk's left arm hung at an odd angle, likely broken.

Kirk's face was pale, and his forehead was covered in cold sweat, but he still managed a smile for Ariana, "I'm fine. Are you hurt? The motorcycle was too close to you; I couldn't pull you away in time and had to push you."

Ariana shook her head in tears. "I'm fine. I'll take you to the hospital right away."

Seeing the tears in Ariana's eyes, Kirk was momentarily stunned. He instinctively reached out to wipe them away but stopped halfway.

Kirk's face returned to its previous gentle smile, "I'm fine, don't cry. I think my left arm is just dislocated, no other injuries."

"It must hurt a lot." Ariana looked at him, her eyes filled with guilt. Her eyes were beautiful, clear as a calm lake, reflecting his face and revealing his inner darkness.

For some reason, Kirk couldn't meet her gaze and looked away in a panic.

"It's okay, it doesn't hurt. I'm used to it," Kirk said.

Ariana's hand stiffened, as she remenbered what he had told her about his past, feeling even more guilty.

"The ambulance will be here soon. Hold on a little longer."

Kirk nodded and said softly, "Don't feel guilty. I'm glad I could save you. If you had been hit, the consequences would have been severe. Now I just have a dislocated arm; it'll heal in time."

Hearing this, Ariana felt even worse. "Mr. Marshall, I'm sorry. I misunderstood you before and kept rejecting your kindness. I didn't expect you to save me despite that."

Kirk reached out and gently patted her head, "You really don't need to apologize. It's not your fault."

His voice was gentle, like a breeze soothing her wounded heart.

"Mr. Marshall, thank you." Ariana's eyes were filled with tears, looking at him with gratitude.

Kirk's right hand clenched slightly, and he looked away in a panic.

If one day Ariana found out that everything he did was to use her, she would surely hate him, right?

For some reason, the thought of that possibility made Kirk feel a bit uncomfortable.

Soon, the ambulance arrived.

Ariana went to the hospital with Kirk. After Dr. Jerald Baskin examined Kirk, he confirmed that apart from a broken left arm, Kirk only had some minor scrapes. Ariana finally breathed a sigh of relief knowing that.

Kirk looked at her, "You must have gotten hurt when I pushed you. Let Dr. Baskin check you too."

Ariana instinctively pulled her hand into her sleeve and shook her head, "No need, I'm fine."

Jerald frowned, "Since you're here, you might as well get checked. You young folks these days aren't in great shape."

Under Jerald's insistence, Ariana also got checked. The results showed she only had minor scrapes on her palms, nothing serious.

After putting a cast on Kirk's arm, Jerald asked Ariana to handle the hospital admission procedures.

Looking at the amount on the bill, Ariana hesitated. She didn't have enough money.

Should she borrow more from Sharon?

Seeing Ariana's troubled expression, Kirk took the bill from her and looked at the amount, "I'll transfer the money to you."

Ariana quickly took the bill back and shook her head, "No need. You got hurt for saving me, so I'll pay the medical bills. I'll go pay now. Let the nurse take you to the ward first."

With that, Ariana turned and hurried away.

Watching her leave, Kirk's eyes grew deep.

On her way to handle the admission procedures, Ariana thought for a long time and finally decided not to ask Sharon for help. She would secure an online loan and repay it with her next paycheck.

After all, Sharon had already helped her a lot. Ariana couldn't keep asking for Sharon's help just because she was kind.

Having made up her mind, Ariana felt her expression calm. As she looked up, she suddenly saw a familiar figure heading towards the hospital entrance.

Ariana looked closely and saw that it was indeed Seb!

'Why is Seb at the hospital?' Ariana thought.

She remembered Sharon calling Seb from the office earlier, and Seb had said he was at a business meeting.

Ariana pressed her lips together and took out her phone to secretly take a picture of Seb's back.

After taking the photo, Ariana was about to send it to Sharon but hesitated at the last moment.
