Chapter 120 What If I Insist on Getting a Divorce?

Alex's eyes narrowed, his face grim.

"How did you..."

"Does it matter?"

Alex stared at Sharon, his expression icy.

When the elevator doors opened, Sharon walked in.

Seeing Alex still at the door, she said, "Aren't we going to the Smith mansion?"

Alex sighed and stepped in. "Sharon, back then, Ava's dad had a car accident. It was urgent..."

Sharon cut him off, annoyed, "No excuses. You chose between Ava and me."

"It's not like that."

"Stop talking. The more you explain, the more I despise you."

Alex's face froze, and the elevator went silent except for its hum.

Soon, they reached the first floor.

Sharon walked out and headed to her car.

"We'll meet at the Smith mansion."

Alex frowned, "Sharon, Grandma and Grandpa must be really mad right now. We need to talk. Ride with me."

Sharon looked at him coldly, "I have nothing to discuss. I'll tell the truth."

Alex had given the only kidney source to Ava's dad, so Sharon wouldn't cover for him anymore. She planned to use this to push for a divorce.

Without another glance, Sharon got in her car and drove off.

Once Alex was out of sight, Sharon called Seb.

The phone rang a few times before Seb answered. "What's up?"

Seb's deep voice sounded distant.

"Uncle Seb, are you in a meeting? Am I disturbing you?"

"It's fine, go ahead."

In the Silvercrest Group conference room, Seb sat at the head of the table, surrounded by shareholders. His expression was cold and intimidating.

"Uncle Seb, did you release the photos of Alex cheating?"

Seb's eyes darkened. "Yes."

"Got it. Thanks, Uncle Seb."

"Anything else?"

"No."

After hanging up, Seb's voice turned icy again. "The meeting continues."

The shareholders kept their heads down, wondering who could make Seb take a call during a meeting. He never did that.

An hour later, Sharon's car stopped at the Smith mansion.

Alex was already there. She got out and walked straight in without a word.

As soon as they entered the living room, Tyler's angry voice boomed.

"Kneel!"

Alex's face changed. He took a deep breath and knelt in front of Tyler and Sandra.

Clara and David were also on the sofa, looking grim.

Sharon stood a few steps away, ignoring Clara's cold stare.

Alex was the one who cheated, yet Clara had the nerve to be mad at her.

Tyler looked at Alex with disappointment. "Alex, have you forgotten the Smith family rules?"

Tyler couldn't believe the Alex he had nurtured was acting like David, fooling around with women.

Tyler's disappointed gaze made Alex's heart sink. "Grandpa, I just couldn't resist the temptation for a moment. I know I was wrong."

Tyler's anger flared. "If you can't resist this, how can you handle bigger temptations? I can't trust you with the Smith Group. You should resign."

Alex's face fell, but before he could speak, Clara's voice cut in.

"Dad, isn't this unfair to Alex? He cheated because Sharon can't have kids. Should he be stuck with a woman who can't have children?"

Sharon sneered. Clara was good at making excuses for Alex.

It was Alex who couldn't control himself, yet Clara blamed her for not having kids.

"Mrs. Clark, that's amusing. Before Ava got pregnant, he didn't know he'd end up with a child, right?"

"What, that woman is pregnant?"

Sandra looked at Alex with disappointment. "Alex, how could you be so foolish!"

If this got out, the Smith family's reputation would be ruined.

Alex kept his head down, knowing Sandra was his only hope.

"Grandma, I'm sorry. I know I was wrong. I promise it won't happen again. I've worked at the Smith Group for so long, I don't want to leave."

Sharon's expression was mocking. "Alex, you really want everything, don't you?"

"Shut up!"

Clara glared at Sharon. "If you had controlled Alex, he wouldn't have gotten involved with that woman. This is partly your fault!"

Sharon wanted to roll her eyes but decided Clara wasn't worth arguing with.

She turned to Tyler. "Grandpa, now that everyone knows about Alex's cheating, I don't want to stay in this marriage. I'm divorcing him."

Everyone's eyes turned to her, especially Alex, who looked at her with anger and disbelief.

"No, I won't divorce you!"

Tyler's face was dark, and he lowered his eyes, deep in thought.

Even at over seventy, Tyler's imposing aura made people instinctively fear him.

Sharon ignored Alex and waited for Tyler's answer.

After a moment, Tyler spoke, "I understand how you feel, but you can't divorce Alex now."

There was only one photo online, with no other substantial evidence.

But if Sharon divorced Alex now, it would indirectly admit Alex had cheated.

Though disappointed in Alex, Tyler couldn't give up on him over one mistake. His earlier words were just to teach Alex a lesson.

Sharon's hand clenched, and her gaze at Tyler turned cold.

She hadn't expected that even with Ava pregnant, the Smith family would still stand by Alex.

"What if I insist?" Sharon sneered.
