Chapter 308 No Other Choice
Seb paused, "Not yet. I'll eat here."
Dana nodded, "Alright! I'll head upstairs and call Ms. Roach and Mr. Demetrius Smith down for dinner."
Sharon led Demetrius downstairs. As soon as they walked into the dining room, she spotted Seb at the head of the table, and surprise flickered in her eyes.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Smith," she greeted him politely.
Since Seb and Sharon had agreed to keep things civil, their encounters had become a lot more relaxed.
"Good afternoon," he replied with a nod.
After seating Demetrius, Sharon was about to feed him before eating herself. Dana noticed and quickly stepped in, taking the bowl from her. "Ms. Roach, I'll feed Mr. Demetrius Smith. You go ahead and eat."
Seeing Sharon's hesitant look, Dana smiled, "I've specifically learned how to take care of kids. Don't worry."
Sharon wasn't doubting her; she just felt a bit awkward letting Dana take over.
Then Seb's deep voice cut in, "Let Dana feed him."
"Alright, Dana, thank you," Sharon said, giving Dana a grateful nod.
"Ms. Roach, it's all part of the job," Dana replied with a warm smile.
As Sharon sat down and picked up her fork, Seb suddenly asked, "Did Alex bother you today?"
Sharon was caught off guard by the question and paused for a moment. She nodded, "Yes."
"If Alex bothers you again, just tell me. I'll handle it," Seb said firmly.
Sharon looked down, "No need. I can handle it myself."
Seb's grip on his fork tightened, but he didn't push the issue.
The table fell silent.
After dinner, Seb grabbed a file and left.
Sharon took Demetrius upstairs. After putting him down for a nap, she was about to rest when there was a gentle knock on the door.
Seeing Demetrius stir, Sharon quickly walked to the door and opened it. Dana was standing outside.
Sharon asked, "Dana, what's up? Demetrius is napping."
Dana immediately lowered her voice, "Ms. Roach, Ms. Walker is here. She's downstairs right now."
Rebecca was Seb's fiancée. As a nanny, Dana couldn't ask Rebecca to leave, so she had come to find Sharon.
Sharon's eyes flickered. She hadn't expected Rebecca to show up so soon. "Alright, I understand. I'll be right down."
Dana sighed, looking worriedly at Sharon, "Ms. Roach, Ms. Walker looks very upset. You should be prepared."
Meeting Dana's concerned gaze, Sharon nodded, "Alright, I understand. Thanks, Dana."
After Dana left, Sharon glanced at Demetrius on the bed. Seeing that he was still asleep, she sighed in relief, changed her clothes, and went downstairs.
As soon as Sharon entered the living room, she saw Rebecca sitting on the sofa with a sullen face.
Rebecca yelled, "Sharon, how shameless of you to move in here. I really underestimated you!"
Sitting down across from her, Sharon said calmly, "You should talk to Seb about that."
Rebecca sneered, "Don't think that moving in means you've won. I'm still Seb's fiancée!"
Feeling a bit speechless, Sharon looked at her, "Rebecca, I thought you would have gotten smarter over the past five years. Turns out you're just as foolish as you were back then."
"Say that again!" Rebecca's face turned red with anger.
Sharon dared to call her foolish? What right did this bitch have?
"If you had any brains, you'd know that coming to me won't help. Seb will be pissed if he finds out. And do you think it was a coincidence that you found out I was here?" Sharon said with a smirk.
Hearing that, Rebecca was momentarily stunned and instinctively asked, "Was it you who sent me the message?"
Sharon didn't bother arguing. She stood up and said, "Since you're Seb's fiancée now, use that status wisely. Sometimes, going directly to him is more effective than coming here to threaten me."
With that, Sharon left the living room and went upstairs.
Watching her leave, Rebecca's eyes were still filled with anger, but there was also a hint of contemplation.
A moment later, Rebecca grabbed her bag and hurriedly left the villa.
Dana, who had been waiting in the kitchen, finally breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Rebecca leave. She had been worried that if Sharon and Rebecca started fighting, she would have to notify Seb immediately. Now it seemed that wouldn't be necessary.
Just as Rebecca was about to get into her car, Dora called out to her, "Ms. Walker, I'm the maid here. My name is Dora Butler."
Rebecca frowned and said coldly, "What's the matter?"
Rebecca's face was full of impatience. She was eager to find Seb and didn't want to waste time.
Dora stepped forward and said in a low voice, "Ms. Walker, you're Mr. Smith's fiancée. Only you are worthy of him. I can't stand by and watch a scheming woman take Mr. Smith away from you! Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on Sharon. If there's any important news, I'll contact you immediately!"
Rebecca raised an eyebrow, a hint of interest flashing in her eyes, "Really?"
If Dora could help her monitor Sharon's movements, it wouldn't be a bad thing.
"Of course. I hope you become the lady of the house!"
Hearing that, Rebecca smiled and took a card from her bag, handing it to Dora. "Dora, this card has forty thousand dollars on it. If you can provide me with useful information, you'll get much more than this."
Dora's eyes widened in shock.
She rejected, "Ms. Walker, I can't accept this money."
Rebecca said, "Take it. You deserve it. I have to go now. I'll be waiting for your good news."
Dora tightly gripped the card, nodding solemnly, "Alright!"
It wasn't until Rebecca's car disappeared from sight that Dora happily turned back to the villa.
She didn't notice that Sharon had been watching her and Rebecca's interaction from a window on the second floor.
Sharon returned to the sofa, grabbed her book, and kept reading.
The next second, her phone vibrated with a message from Donna.
Donna: [Sharon, are you sure you want to do this? Once it starts, there's no turning back.]
After reading the message, Sharon deleted it without replying.
From the moment Seb had threatened her with Demetrius, she had no other choice.
Demetrius was her bottom line. Anyone who tried to take him away from her would have to pay the price.
That evening, Seb returned with a sullen face, and the atmosphere in the living room immediately became tense.
Dana and Dora didn't dare to speak and quickly retreated to the kitchen.
Having worked in the villa for five years, they knew Seb's temperament well. When he was angry, it was best to leave him alone.
Sharon, who was eating, looked up at him and raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Smith, what happened? Why do you look so upset?"
Seb looked at her, his eyes cold, "It's none of your business."
Sharon smiled slightly, "Quite right, but you're scaring Demetrius."
Seb was taken aback and instinctively looked at Demetrius, noticing that his gaze did indeed carry a hint of fear. His mood worsened.
