Chapter 413 I Am Now Sophie's Boyfriend

Randy's eyes went wide, shock and disbelief written all over his face.

Sophie had her eyes shut tight, her eyelashes fluttering like tiny fans, almost like butterflies ready to take off.

Randy's disbelief quickly transformed into a more intense emotion. He took a decisive step forward, his arm encircling her waist with a possessive tenderness.

When the kiss finally broke, Sophie was spent, panting and leaning weakly against Randy.

If she had known it would be this exhausting, she definitely wouldn't have made the first move with Randy.

Randy held her waist, his expression dark, and looked down at her, his voice deep, "Sophie, you started this. I'm not letting you go."

He grabbed her hand, their fingers intertwining, and leaned down to plant a soft kiss on her smooth forehead.

The kiss was light, like a gentle breeze, whispering promises of unwavering support and affection.

Sophie lowered her gaze, feeling a pang of bitterness in her heart. She thought she'd never find love again, but Randy made her feel special.

She wrapped her arms around Randy's waist, leaned against his chest, and stayed silent. Even if it didn't work out, she wouldn't regret it.

The hospital room door suddenly flew open, and Leonard and Maria rushed in, stunned by what they saw.

After hearing that Sophie had been drugged by Dwayne, they hurried to the hospital, but what did they find?

Sophie was in Randy's arms!

Leonard couldn't believe his eyes and exchanged a shocked glance with Maria.

Hearing the door open, Sophie quickly pulled away from Randy, looking at Leonard and Maria with embarrassment. "Dad, Mom, what are you doing here?"

Leonard snapped back to their reason for coming and quickly walked over to her, not even addressing Sophie and Randy.

"We know what Dwayne did to you. Your mom and I will make sure he pays. We won't let you suffer for nothing!" Leonard said.

Maria sat down by the bed, carefully looking at Sophie. Seeing that she was okay, she finally relaxed.

As Maria held Sophie's hand, her eyes welled up, "Sophie, you went through such a big ordeal and didn't tell us. If it weren't for the call from the police, were you planning to keep it from us?"

A guilty look flashed in Sophie's eyes. She really hadn't planned to tell Leonard and Maria about it.

"Dad, Mom, I just didn't have the chance. I was scared, and I even hurt Dwayne. I heard he's still in the emergency room." Sophie said.

"Whatever, the first thing you should do when something happens is tell us, not keep it from us!" Maria said.

Seeing Maria's upset expression and the concern in her eyes, Sophie quickly hugged her arm and acted all sweet, "Mom, I really didn't have the chance. Don't be mad. Next time something happens, I'll tell you and Dad right away."

"That's more like it." Maria said.

Leonard and Maria asked for the details, and after hearing them, Leonard was so angry he wanted to confront the Carr family immediately, but Sophie stopped him.

"Dad, the police are already handling this. Going to the Carr family now won't help, and if another conflict arises, it will be even harder to resolve. Let the police handle it." Sophie said.

Seeing Sophie's pale face, Leonard sighed, "It's my fault. If the Lee Group were still doing well, Dwayne wouldn't have dared to mess with you."

Sophie said, "Dad, it's not your fault. Plus, Mr. Smith is already helping the Lee Group. I believe we'll get through this soon."

At that moment, Randy handed over a cup of warm water, "Yeah, Sophie's right. Mr. Lee, have some water."

Leonard, suddenly remembering Randy's presence, turned to look at him and took the cup with a blank expression.

Thinking about Randy holding Sophie earlier, Leonard found Randy increasingly annoying, even though he had praised Randy's achievements to Maria not long ago.

Randy also handed a cup of water to Maria, who quickly accepted it, "Thank you, Mr. Smith."

"Mrs. Lee, please call me Randy," Randy said.

Maria nodded, "Randy, you and our Sophie..."

"Mrs. Lee, I'm Sophie's boyfriend now," Randy said with a smile.

Leonard choked on his water.

Randy quickly took the cup from him and patted his back, "Mr. Lee, are you okay?"

Leonard waved his hand, finally stopping his cough, but his expression hardened as he turned sharply toward Sophie, "Sophie, what's going on?"

Sophie had just broken off her engagement with Dwayne, and now Randy was her boyfriend?

Sophie glared at Randy, about to speak, but Randy spoke first, "Mr. Lee, it's not Sophie's fault. I fell in love with her at first sight five years ago and have been pursuing her ever since. Tonight, after learning she broke off her engagement with Dwayne, I confessed to her, and she just agreed to be with me."

"You can blame me or scold me. It has nothing to do with Sophie," Randy continued.

Leonard frowned, about to speak, but Maria pinched him, causing his face to twist in pain.

Maria smiled at Randy, "Randy, we don't want to interfere with young people's feelings. We only have one daughter, and we don't plan to arrange a marriage for her. We just hope she finds someone who respects and loves her. Since she chose you, we trust her choice and hope you won't disappoint us."

Randy nodded solemnly at Maria, "Mrs. Lee, I understand. I will never let Sophie suffer."

"With that assurance, I'm relieved. It's late, and we have a meeting with the lawyer tomorrow morning, so we'll head back," Maria said.

"Mr. Lee, Mrs. Lee, let me see you out," Randy said.

Leonard didn't have a chance to speak before Maria pulled him out of the room.

It wasn't until they were in the elevator that Leonard spoke up, "Why don't you let me speak?"

Sophie had just broken off her engagement with Dwayne and had been drugged by him. Now she was hastily with Randy. What if she regretted it later?

"Let the young people handle their own affairs. Sophie knows what she's doing," Maria said calmly.

"I'm just worried she'll be deceived. Randy always seemed like a gentleman, but I didn't expect him to take advantage of Sophie's emotional vulnerability. I really misjudged him!"

Maria looked at him with amusement, "You're just afraid Sophie will be taken away by him and feel helpless, so you're angry."

Leonard's face turned red as he was called out, "I never wanted Sophie to get married in the first place. If she wants, we can take care of her for her whole life."

"They just got together, and you're already worrying about marriage. You're thinking too far ahead," Maria said with a smile.

Hearing this, Leonard nodded, "You're right."

"But..." Maria thought about how Sophie would always smile unconsciously when she received messages from Randy during meals. Maybe they really would get married.

"But what?" Leonard's attention was instantly caught by her words.

Seeing his worried expression, Maria couldn't help but laugh, "Nothing, the elevator has reached the first floor. Let's go."

Who could say what the future held?

Randy returned to the hospital room and was immediately hit by a large pillow.

He caught the pillow and looked at Sophie, who was sitting on the bed, pouting. His eyes were filled with gentle amusement, "Who made you angry?"

Sophie rolled her eyes at him, "Why did you say you confessed? I was the one who asked if you wanted to try dating. Now my parents might have a bad impression of you because of that."

Randy walked to the bedside, put down the pillow, and smiled, "It's okay. I'll show them with my actions that they can change their minds about me."

After all, he was just starting a relationship with Sophie. There was still a long way to go before he could marry her.

"Don't you know that first impressions are important?" Sophie asked.

Randy looked at her, "No matter what, you're the most important."

He would rather have Leonard and Maria have a bad first impression of him than have Sophie scolded by her parents.

Sophie pouted, "Fine, but my dad is hard to get along with. You'll regret it later!"

"I won't." Randy looked at her seriously, his gaze gentle and firm.

Sophie vaguely remembered that when they first met, after signing the contract and shaking hands, he said he would pursue her with the same determination.

After a moment of eye contact, Sophie's face suddenly turned red. She quickly looked away and pulled the blanket over her head.

"I'm tired. Turn off the lights and let's sleep." Her voice came muffled through the blanket, sounding incredibly cute.

Randy's smile deepened, "Alright, I'll turn off the lights now. Don't keep your head under the blanket, or you'll get all sweaty."

"Got it." Sophie said.

Seeing Sophie move under the blanket but not uncover her head, Randy's eyes flashed with affection. He reached out and turned off the bedside switch, plunging the room into darkness.

"Sleep well, goodnight." Randy said.

The room quieted down, and Randy used the faint light from his phone to walk to the sofa and lie down.

Sophie thought she would have trouble sleeping, but she fell asleep shortly after the lights were turned off.

Maybe it was because Randy was there, she slept well all night without any nightmares.

At eight in the morning, Sophie woke up on time.

As soon as she sat up, she saw Randy sitting on the sofa, reading documents.

Hearing her movement, Randy put down the documents and turned to look at her, "Awake? I bought some food. You should wash up first. After breakfast, the police might come to take your statement."

Sophie nodded, "Okay."

By the time she finished washing up and eating breakfast, it was already 8:30.

The doctor came in with a nurse to check on her and confirmed that she was in good spirits. He smiled and said, "Ms. Lee, if you don't have any other discomforts, you can be discharged this afternoon."

"Okay, thank you, doctor." Sophie said.

Shortly after the doctor left, the police arrived.

After taking her statement, the officer said, "Ms. Lee, we have a clear understanding of the situation. However, Dwayne hasn't woken up yet, so we need to wait until he wakes up to take his statement before we can proceed with the case. In the meantime, please rest well. We'll contact you if needed."

"Alright, thank you," Sophie said.

"You're welcome," the officer replied.

After the police left, Sophie looked at Randy, "You should go to work. I don't have much to do now. I'll pack up and be ready to leave the hospital soon."

"I'm not busy. I'll help you with the discharge paperwork later," Randy said.

Just then, his phone rang.

Sophie looked at him with a teasing smile, "Is this what you call not busy? Your phone has rung over ten times this morning. Go to work. My parents will be here soon, so don't worry about me."

"I'll leave after your parents arrive," Randy insisted.

Seeing his determination, Sophie had no choice but to let him stay.

After waiting for over half an hour, Leonard and Maria still hadn't arrived, but Sharon did.

Seeing that Sharon was there to accompany Sophie, Randy didn't insist on staying any longer. He packed up his documents and left.

Sharon arranged the flowers she brought and then turned to see Sophie staring at the door. She couldn't help but tease, "Randy has already left. If you miss him that much, should I call him back for you?"

Sophie withdrew her gaze, "I wasn't looking at him. I was waiting for the nurse to bring my morning medication."

"Sure," Sharon drawled, clearly not believing her.

From the way Sophie and Randy looked at each other earlier, Sharon had guessed that something had happened between them last night. Their gazes were just like those of a couple. She wasn't blind.

Knowing she couldn't hide it from Sharon, Sophie decided to tell her about her relationship with Randy.

Seeing that Sharon wasn't surprised at all, Sophie felt a bit speechless, "Can't you at least show some reaction?"

"Alright, you two are together now. I'm so surprised!" Sharon said, feigning shock.

Sophie fell silent.

"Ever since I returned to Metropolis and you came to Seb's villa to find me, I could tell you had feelings for Randy. It was only a matter of time before you two got together," Sharon continued.

Sophie was silent for a few seconds, then looked up at Sharon, "Was it really that obvious?"

"Yes, maybe only you and Randy didn't notice," Sharon said.

"Okay," Sophie said.

Seeing the faint worry in her eyes, Sharon spoke softly, "No matter the process, the result is that you two are together now."

Sophie lowered her gaze, "I'm just worried about whether we can make it to marriage. After all, he's six years younger than me."

"Six years is nothing, not sixty. Since you're already together, don't overthink it. If one day you do break up because of the age difference, there's no regret. At least you were together."

Sophie nodded, a smile tugging at her lips, "You're right. I've been overthinking."

Sharon checked the time and stood up, "It's getting late. I only took the morning off, so I have to go back."

"Alright, I'm getting discharged this afternoon. You don't need to come back," Sophie said.

"Okay," Sharon replied.

Sharon turned to leave. As soon as she stepped out of the hospital building, she received a call from Ayla.

"Sharon, what's going on with you and Seb? It's just kids playing around, and you two have rallied the whole class to isolate my son. Don't you think that's too much for a child?" Ayla said angrily.
