Chapter 233 Could it be That He is The One Who Is Infertile?
The other end of the line went dead, and Seb hung up.
For the next month, Seb was a ghost. Sharon only heard about him through Sophie, but they had zero interaction.
Sharon hit the books hard every day, and it wasn't until her period was a week late that she started to freak out.
But then she remembered that medical report saying she was infertile, and she chilled out a bit.
Sharon thought, 'It's gotta be the stress from all this studying that's messing with my cycle.'
Even though she tried to calm herself down, Sharon was still kinda worried. She threw on a coat and headed to the pharmacy to grab a pregnancy test.
She needed to see it with her own eyes to be sure.
Half an hour later, Sharon saw those two lines on the test, and her eyes went wide with shock.
Sharon thought, 'Wait, I can't get pregnant, right? And I even took a pill just to be safe. How the heck am I pregnant?'
After the shock wore off, panic set in. She quickly made an appointment and drove to the hospital.
While waiting for the blood test results, Sharon kept praying that the test was wrong and that second line was just a fluke.
When she got the report and saw she was five weeks pregnant, she was frozen.
The doctor, sitting behind the desk, looked at her with a blank expression. "Do you want the baby?"
Sharon hadn't even processed the news yet. She stared at the doctor. "Could this report be wrong?"
The doctor frowned slightly, his voice a bit cold, "No."
Seeing Sharon's reaction, it seemed like she didn't want the baby.
"If you don't want it, I can write you a prescription."
Sharon was stunned for a moment and instinctively said, "No, I had a check-up before, and the report said I was infertile."
"Where did you have the check-up?"
"At Golden Gate Hospital."
The doctor was silent for a few seconds and then said in a deep voice, "If you don't believe it, you can have another check-up."
Sharon quickly nodded. She couldn't believe she was pregnant.
When she got the same report again, Sharon finally accepted the fact that she was pregnant.
Although Sharon had no clue how she got pregnant despite being infertile, now that she was, she had to deal with it.
Seeing Sharon's pale face and the fact that she had no boyfriend or husband with her, the doctor assumed the baby was unplanned.
Usually, in such cases, the baby would be aborted.
Thinking of this, the doctor's attitude became a bit impatient. "Do you want the baby or not?"
Sharon had just accepted her pregnancy, and now suddenly jumping to the topic of whether to keep the baby was clearly overwhelming for her.
Under the doctor's gradually cold gaze, Sharon took a deep breath and said slowly, "I haven't thought about it yet. I'll think it over."
Holding the check-up report, Sharon walked out of the doctor's office in a daze.
She had just reached the corner when she suddenly bumped into someone.
Sharon took several steps back to steady herself, and the report in her hand fell to the ground.
She bent down to pick it up, but a slender hand picked it up first.
Sharon was stunned for a moment. When she looked up, she saw Alex's gloomy face.
The report was almost crumpled in his hand, and Alex's gaze at Sharon was filled with anger.
Alex's look of betrayal made Sharon find it somewhat amusing. She looked at him expressionlessly. "Please give me back the report."
As soon as she finished talking, Alex grabbed her hand. Ignoring Sharon's struggle, he dragged her to the nearby stairwell.
"Sharon, what's going on? Are you pregnant?"
Alex was freaking out, his eyes red, practically shoving the report in Sharon's face.
Sharon pushed him away, her face full of disgust. "What does it have to do with you?"
"Whose baby is it? No, you were supposed to be infertile. How could you be pregnant?"
Alex's face went from angry to confused to suspicious.
Sharon snatched the report from his hand. "This is my business. What does it have to do with you?"
"How does it not? If you hadn't been infertile for three years of marriage, and the check-up hadn't shown you were infertile, we wouldn't have ended up like this!"
Sharon laughed at Alex's shamelessness. "Alex, don't use my infertility as an excuse for your cheating. Even if I were pregnant, it wouldn't have stopped you from cheating. The check-up said I was infertile, but I'm pregnant now. I suggest you get checked too. Don't be clueless if you're being cheated on."
"Say that again!"
Alex's gaze was cold and terrifying, like he might strangle Sharon any second.
Sharon pushed him away, her face indifferent. "Alex, we're divorced. Whether I'm pregnant or not has nothing to do with you. Stop messing with my life!"
With that, Sharon was about to leave, but Alex blocked her.
He looked down at her, gritting his teeth. "Is the baby Seb's?"
Sharon's eyes flickered. "It's none of your business."
"Even if it is, you're not marrying into the Smiths!"
Sharon looked up at Alex. "Alex, do you think marrying into the Smith family is a good thing? When I married you, it was because of you, not the Smith family."
"You think I'll believe that?"
To Alex, the reason Sharon was so eager to divorce him was because she had found someone more powerful, Seb. Otherwise, she would never have initiated the divorce.
"Whether you believe it or not has nothing to do with me. If you keep blocking me, I'll call the cops. And don't forget, I'm pregnant now. If you dare do anything to me, you'll end up in jail!"
"You!"
Alex was furious, but he didn't dare do anything to her.
If the baby in Sharon's belly was really Seb's, and something happened to Sharon, Seb wouldn't let him off.
He only had the company David gave him now and couldn't compete with Seb.
Sharon walked past him and left directly. Alex didn't follow, but his face was extremely gloomy.
Back home, Sharon sat on the couch, unconsciously touching her flat belly.
Sharon still couldn't believe she was pregnant.
However, this baby came at the wrong time.
Her main focus now was on her graduate studies, not marriage and kids.
If she had this baby, her life would change drastically.
Given her current situation, the best choice would be to terminate the pregnancy.
But for some reason, Sharon couldn't make up her mind.
She had thought she would never have her own child in this lifetime.
Her stomach growled, and Sharon checked the time. It was already half-past twelve, so she stopped thinking about it and got up to make lunch.
Whether to keep the baby or not, she needed to think it over carefully.
Meanwhile, Alex was at the hospital.
After Sharon left, Alex immediately called Joseph to investigate which men Sharon had recently been in contact with.
Just as he was about to hang up, Alex suddenly recalled what Sharon had said earlier.
Alex thought, 'The report said Sharon was infertile. How could she be pregnant? Am I the one who's infertile?'
