Chapter 372 Sharon Had Feelings for Him Too

Seeing Ariana trying so hard to dodge Kirk, Sharon couldn't help but laugh. "Alright, I get it."

It was already past seven in the evening when the experiment finally wrapped up.

After cleaning up the lab, Sharon was about to head out when Kirk walked in with a bunch of food.

"Ms. Roach, you all worked hard on the experiment, so I brought you some food," Kirk said.

Sharon raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised. "Mr. Marshall, what's with the generosity?"

Adeline, who knew Kirk better, headed straight for the door. "Kirk, you're always so thoughtful."

Back when they used to pull late nights on experiments, Kirk would often bring them food. She didn't expect him to keep it up even after they split into different groups.

Kirk's face lit up with a warm smile. "Of course, you all work so hard. As the project leader, it's my duty to take care of you."

Since eating in the lab was a no-go, Kirk took the food to the office next door.

Even though Sharon wasn't a fan of Kirk, she had to keep things civil.

After washing her hands and changing out of her lab coat, Sharon was about to head to the office when Ariana's voice called out from behind. "Sharon, I'm really tired today, so I'm heading home."

Sharon turned around and noticed Ariana's pale face, feeling a bit worried.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling sick? You look really pale," Sharon asked, quickly walking over and touching Ariana's cold hand.

Ariana quickly pulled her hand back and shook her head. "I'm fine, Sharon. Just tired. I'm heading home now."

Before Sharon could say anything else, Ariana hurried past her and left.

Watching Ariana rush off, Sharon sighed and headed to the office.

As soon as she stepped in, she noticed Kirk's gaze, but he wasn't looking at her; he was looking behind her.

Sharon couldn't tell if it was her illusion, but she thought she saw a hint of disappointment in Kirk's eyes.

Jake and Adeline were munching on oysters and looked up when they heard the door open.

Adeline seemed surprised not to see Ariana. "Ms. Roach, where's Ariana?"

"She said she was tired and went home," Sharon replied.

"Okay," Adeline said, not thinking much of it and going back to eating.

Sharon looked at Kirk. "Mr. Marshall, why aren't you eating?"

"I've already had dinner, so I'm not hungry. Ms. Roach, I have some matters to attend to, so I'll be leaving now. Please make sure the lab and office doors are locked before you leave," Kirk replied.

As Kirk walked past Sharon, she suddenly called out to him. "Mr. Marshall, I need to talk to you. Let's step outside."

Kirk was momentarily stunned but nodded. "Alright."

They walked out into the hallway.

"Ms. Roach, if it's not urgent, can it wait until tomorrow? I really have something to do," Kirk asked.

"Mr. Marshall, Ariana is a simple girl. You two aren't a good match, so I hope you can stay away from her," Sharon said.

She only said this after confirming that Ariana had no feelings for Kirk.

In Sharon's view, Kirk was not someone Ariana could handle.

Kirk smirked, "Ms. Roach, this is my personal matter. It's not your place to interfere," Kirk said.

With that, he turned and left.

Sharon frowned. Since Kirk wouldn't listen, she'd have to find a way to talk to Ariana about it.

Ariana was the hardest worker in their lab, and Sharon didn't want her getting hurt by Kirk.

Just as Sharon was about to leave, her phone rang.

Seeing Seb's name on the screen, her eyes flickered, and she answered.

"Is the experiment over?" Seb asked.

"Just finished. Haven't you gone home yet?" Sharon replied.

"No, I'm coming down to get you. Let's go home together," Seb said, his deep voice sounding so close it made her feel like she could sense his breath.

Sharon's heart raced.

She lowered her eyes and softly replied, "Okay."

After hanging up, Sharon walked back into the office and looked at the two still eating.

"I'm heading home. Make sure to clean up and lock the office door before you leave," Sharon said.

Jake looked up. "Sharon, aren't you going to eat?"

"No, I'm heading home. See you tomorrow," Sharon replied, then turned and walked towards the elevator.

When she was about ten feet away, the elevator doors opened, and Seb stepped out.

Seb, clad in a black suit, wore a distant expression. But the moment he saw her, his cold eyes softened.

Sharon instinctively quickened her pace. "How did you get here so fast?"

"I was waiting for the elevator when I called you. I thought if your experiment wasn't over, I'd wait for you nearby," Seb replied.

Hearing this, Sharon imagined Seb sitting nearby waiting for her and couldn't help but smile.

"If you were sitting nearby, everyone in the lab would feel uneasy," Sharon said.

Having the boss sitting nearby while working would definitely up the pressure.

Seb looked down at her. "You haven't had dinner, have you?"

"No, I haven't. But I don't want to order takeout. I'll just make something simple at home. Have you eaten? If not, I can make some pasta for you too," Sharon nodded.

"Okay," Seb replied.

Standing in front of the elevator, Seb saw their reflections close together.

Sharon stood beside him, looking small and adorable.

Unconsciously, he moved a bit closer to her, making their reflections even closer.

Seb's lips curled into a smile, and his mood lightened.

Sharon noticed his change in mood and glanced up, meeting his eyes.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly looked away, her pinky finger curling involuntarily.

Realizing her reaction was a bit much, she awkwardly asked, "What kind of pasta do you like?"

"Anything is fine," Seb replied.

"Then I'll make basil pesto pasta tonight," Sharon said.

"Okay," Seb replied.

Just as they fell into silence, the elevator arrived.

Sharon stepped in first. "Let's go."

Seb's gaze lingered on her slightly flushed cheeks for a moment before he followed her in.

He was certain that Sharon had feelings for him too.

This realization made him feel even better.

Meanwhile, after leaving the building, Ariana quickly walked towards the dormitory.

She couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her from the shadows.

She looked around and saw that the passersby were all in a hurry. No one seemed to be paying her any attention.

She suppressed her unease and quickened her pace towards the dormitory.

In a restaurant at the corner of the street, two pairs of sinister eyes were fixed on the direction Ariana had gone.
