Chapter 164 Alex Stole Silvercrest Group's Client
"A few days ago."
Victor's eyes narrowed. "Where is she now?"
Seb took the phone from Victor, ended the call, and turned it off. He then casually mentioned a hotel name.
Victor jumped up and rushed out, his steps hurried and clumsy.
Matthew glanced at Seb, noticing his blank expression. A hint of surprise crossed his face.
"Do you really not care about Grace at all?"
Back in college, Seb knew Victor liked Grace. Seb always kept Grace close, never giving Victor a chance.
Victor wondered, 'Can Seb really just let go?'
Seb sipped his wine calmly. "When she broke up with me and left, it was over."
Matthew chuckled and shook his head. "That's so you."
When Grace left, Matthew thought Seb would be crushed. But within three days, Seb was back to normal, no signs of heartbreak.
Matthew and Victor thought Seb hid his feelings. Seeing Seb's calmness now, Matthew felt Grace didn't mean as much to Seb as Sharon did.
"Are you serious about Sharon?"
Seb paused, then finished his drink.
Matthew raised an eyebrow. "Think it through. Being with her will be tougher than with Grace."
Grace just had a poor background, which Tyler and Sandra didn't approve back then. And Sharon was even worse off—she not only had a poor background but was also married to Alex.
"Who I'm with is my business."
Matthew was surprised. Seb had defended Grace before, but not this strongly.
"Alright, if you're sure."
Seb stayed silent, his face stern.
Meanwhile, Victor arrived at Grace's hotel.
He had found out her room number on the way.
But downstairs, he hesitated.
As he pondered, a sweet voice called out.
"Victor?"
Victor stiffened and turned to see Grace in a white dress, standing a few steps away. His eyes widened.
'Grace is really back!' he thought.
Grace walked up, smiling as beautifully as in college.
"What's up? Why so quiet?"
Her light fragrance surrounded him.
Victor forced a smile. "Grace, what are you doing here? It's been years."
Grace's eyes flickered, but she didn't call him out. "Yeah, it's been a while. It's time to come back. Home is always better."
Victor was silent for a moment, then looked at her seriously. "Did you come back to get back with Seb?"
"I thought about it, but he has a girlfriend now. It's probably not possible."
Seeing her disappointment, Victor frowned. "You and Seb have history. If you fight for it, you might win him back."
"Really?" Grace's eyes lit up with hope. "You think so?"
Victor felt a pang of regret but kept smiling. "Of course."
"Will you help me?"
Victor instantly regretted his words. He should've used this chance for himself, not encouraged her. But he was stuck now, so he nodded reluctantly. "If you need me to."
Grace smiled. Just as she was about to speak, Victor's phone rang.
Victor felt relieved, thinking the call came at the perfect time. He quickly stepped aside to answer it.
After the call, Victor returned to Grace. "Sorry, something came up. Let's exchange contact info and talk later."
"Okay."
After exchanging numbers, Victor left.
Grace watched him go, a slight smile on her lips, her eyes narrowing.
Sharon thought she'd have trouble sleeping after leaving the villa, but she fell asleep quickly at the hotel.
She woke up just past six in the morning, feeling refreshed.
Sharon got up, washed, tied her hair, put on light makeup, and changed clothes before heading to work.
Just as she arrived at the Silvercrest Group building, she ran into Ashley.
"Morning, Sharon."
"Morning."
They walked into the company together, not noticing the black Maybach parked nearby.
The rear window rolled down, and Seb's cold eyes fell on Sharon.
She walked with Ashley, chatting and laughing, looking stunning with her light makeup.
Her simple outfit made her look like a fresh college graduate.
After the breakup, Seb had drunk all night and still had a splitting headache. Sharon, on the other hand, seemed completely unaffected, even looking better than yesterday.
Feeling the tension in the car, Paul cautiously spoke up, "Mr. Smith, the morning meeting is about to start."
Seb withdrew his gaze, his voice icy. "Let's go."
All day, the atmosphere in the CEO's office at Silvercrest Group was tense. The secretaries were on edge, fearing they'd be called into Seb's office.
Wade Grant, the product manager, walked out of Seb's office looking grim after being scolded.
"Mr. Harris, what's up with Mr. Smith today? Is he in a bad mood?"
He'd been scolded before, but never this harshly.
Paul nodded. "Wade, brace yourself. Mr. Smith might be in a bad mood for a while."
Wade was speechless.
Paul was about to comfort him when Seb's voice came from the office.
"Mr. Harris, come in."
Wade gave Paul a sympathetic look and quickly left.
If he stayed any longer, he might get called back for another scolding.
Paul walked into the office, where Seb was looking at some documents with a stern face.
"Mr. Smith, you wanted to see me?"
"Yes, what's going on with the Brightrise Enterprises deal? Why hasn't it progressed?"
"I was going to report this in the afternoon meeting. I contacted Brightrise Enterprises this morning, but they've been stalling. I found out they signed a contract with Alex the night before last."
Seb's gaze shifted from the documents to Paul, making Paul feel suffocated.
"So, you're saying Alex stole Silvercrest Group's client, and you only found out a day after the contract was signed?"
