Chapter 526 Not Intending to Let Him Go Back

"What exactly do you want?"

Hearing the urgency and anger in Sharon's voice, Leo chuckled softly. "Sharon, I originally wanted to be with you, and then we could have another child and spend the rest of our lives together."

Sharon felt nothing but disgust at his words.

But now, with Demetrius in his hands, she couldn't risk angering him. Who knew what he might do to Demetrius?

She took a deep breath and spoke slowly, "Your target is me. Taking Demetrius doesn't make any sense. Let him go, okay?"

"Sharon, what I just said was what I used to think. Ever since Seb got me into trouble with the police and Vertex Innovations Group went downhill, my thoughts have changed."

Sharon gripped her phone tightly. "What do you want now?"

"I want Seb to feel the same pain I'm feeling. Since I can't bankrupt Silvercrest Group, taking Demetrius will make him suffer like I am."

"No!" Sharon trembled all over, a wave of immense unease washing over her.

"Leo, I'm begging you, don't do anything to Demetrius... Please, let me trade places with him. I'll be your hostage. Take my life in exchange for his, okay? Your target was always me."

Leo fell silent on the other end of the line, seemingly contemplating whether to agree to Sharon's request.

Every second of his silence felt like an eternity to Sharon.

Finally, he spoke, "Alright, but how do I know you're not tricking me?"

"I'll do whatever you ask, as long as you let Demetrius go!"

"Fine, wait for my call. But I advise you and Seb not to call the police. I can't guarantee what will happen to Demetrius if you do." With that, he hung up.

Sharon's eyes were red, her body shaking, barely able to stand.

Seb held her steady, his voice low. "Sharon, I don't agree with you trading places with Demetrius. Leo might not keep his word. What if he ends up controlling both of you?"

Seb had stayed silent during Sharon's call with Leo, fearing that his voice might agitate Leo.

He was now a madman, capable of anything.

After all, Leo had dared to kidnap Demetrius, clearly not caring about Vertex Innovations Group anymore.

Sharon looked up at him. "You don't agree with me trading places with Demetrius? Do you have another plan?"

This was the only solution she could think of. Even if Leo took her too, as long as she could see Demetrius, she would be willing.

Demetrius was only five years old. Who knew where he was being held... Would Leo hurt him?

The thought of Demetrius suffering tore at Sharon's heart. She wished she were the one kidnapped.

"Sharon, my team is already working on locating Leo. Once we find his exact location, we can rescue Demetrius. Trust me, okay?"

Demetrius was already in Leo's hands. If Sharon was also taken, Leo could use either of them to threaten Seb, leaving him helpless.

"If your team hasn't found his location by the time he calls, I'll do what I agreed with him."

Seb frowned. "Sharon, can you calm down?"

"Calm down? How can I calm down? The longer he stays with Leo, the more danger he faces. How can I calm down?"

Seeing Sharon's agitation, Seb pulled her into his arms. "I know, I know. I feel the same. But we can't panic. The more we panic, the more mistakes we'll make. Demetrius will be okay."

Sharon clutched his suit jacket, her tears quickly soaking the fabric.

She wanted to stay calm, but the thought of Demetrius in danger made her tremble with anxiety.

Seb gently patted her back. "Let's go upstairs. We'll wait for Leo's call and my team's updates."

They went upstairs. Sharon sat on the couch, staring at her phone, waiting for Leo's call.

Seb stood by the window, his face dark, lost in thought.

Both of them were in agony.

After what felt like an eternity, Sharon's phone rang.

It was Leo.

She quickly answered. "So, do you agree to trade me for Demetrius?"

"Yes, but you have to go to a place I specify, and you can't bring anyone else. I'll send Demetrius to another location. Seb can pick him up. You both must leave at the same time. If you try anything, you won't get a second chance."

Sharon felt a wave of relief, her hand sweaty from gripping the phone. "Okay, I agree."

Leo quickly gave her two locations, one in the south of Metropolis and one in the north, both about 13 miles from Silvercrest Group.

"At six o'clock, you and Seb will drive to the locations I mentioned. If you don't arrive within an hour, you'll never see Demetrius again."

After the call, Sharon looked at Seb. "If your team hasn't found him by six, we'll do as Leo says."

Seb nodded grimly. "Alright."

He called Paul in and instructed him to deploy their people around the two locations. As soon as they got Demetrius, they would bring Sharon back.

"Yes, Mr. Smith, I'll get on it right away!"

Time ticked by, and Paul's team methodically set up around the two locations.

Before five, Seb's team had news.

"Mr. Smith, we tracked Leo's phone signal during Ms. Roach's call. We believe he's within a 3-mile radius of Brookside Road."

Seb's face darkened. "Do you know how many people live within 3 miles of Brookside Road?"

"Mr. Smith, we're continuing to track him. We should narrow it down soon."

"By six, I need Leo's exact location!" He hung up, his expression grim.

Meanwhile, in apartment 502 on the fifth floor of a residential building, Leo sat on the living room couch. Demetrius was tied up on the floor.

Demetrius glared at Leo, his eyes full of anger.

Leo looked at the face so similar to Seb's, his gaze icy. "Keep staring at me, and I'll gouge your eyes out!"

He thought this would scare Demetrius, maybe even make him cry. But Demetrius didn't look away, continuing to stare defiantly.

Leo was initially angry, but then he noticed that Demetrius's eyes resembled Sharon's. His gaze flickered, and he looked away, deciding to ignore him.

After all, Sharon would soon come to him willingly.

As for Demetrius, Leo never intended to let him go back.

The original plan was to kidnap both Sharon and Demetrius and then leave immediately.

As long as he had Demetrius, he could use him to threaten Sharon into staying with him.

Although the plan had some deviations, it was still under his control.

Once his men brought Sharon, he could take both of them out of the country.

No matter how capable Seb was, he wouldn't be able to find them.

Thinking about the future with Sharon, Leo couldn't help but smile.

He didn't notice that the ropes binding Demetrius's hands had loosened significantly.

As Demetrius was secretly working on freeing himself, his smartwatch suddenly rang.

The unexpected sound startled both Demetrius and Leo.

Leo's eyes turned cold as he quickly walked over to Demetrius and flipped him over.

Seeing the string of numbers on the smartwatch screen, Leo sneered and yanked the watch off, holding it in front of Demetrius. "Who is this?"

Demetrius glanced at it and replied, "It's my teacher."

"Teacher?" Leo sneered and smashed the smartwatch onto the ground.

With a loud crash, the screen went black, and the ringing stopped.

Demetrius glared at him. "Why did you break my stuff?"

"Because you're in my hands now. I warn you, don't try anything funny, or you'll never see your mom again!"

Demetrius's face turned pale at his words, his eyes reddening, but he stubbornly held back his tears.

Leo ignored him and returned to the couch.

Meanwhile, at Metropolis Airport, a tall man wearing sunglasses looked at his phone and raised an eyebrow.

What was going on?

This was the first time Demetrius hadn't answered his call.

He called back, but it went straight to voicemail.

The man in sunglasses narrowed his eyes and opened a tracking app, checking the location of Demetrius's smartwatch. His brows furrowed.

Had the watch been stolen?

The smartwatch was a gift from him to Demetrius, designed to look like any other on the market but equipped with the latest technology. Even if it was turned off, it could still be accurately tracked.

He exited the app and sent Demetrius a message on Facebook. When there was no reply, he didn't think much of it, put away his phone, and took a cab to his hotel.

After checking in, he realized something was wrong when Demetrius still hadn't responded.

In the past, Demetrius would always reply within two hours.

He made a call, his voice cold. "Find out where Demetrius is right now."

Time quickly passed, and it was now six in the evening.

Seb's team had finally pinpointed Leo's location at Harmony Apartments. However, the complex was large, with many residents, and it was rush hour, making it difficult to determine Leo's exact location.

"Mr. Smith, can Ms. Roach call Leo again? We only need a minute to pinpoint the exact building."

Seb's face was grim. "Understood."

After hanging up, they discussed what Sharon should say to Leo to avoid suspicion.

Just as Sharon was about to dial, her phone rang. It was Leo.

She was momentarily stunned, then exchanged a glance with Seb, took a deep breath, and answered.

"Sharon, you should be on your way now, right? I've changed my mind. Head to East Garden Subway Station. Seb should go to Clover Street Subway Station. I'll have someone bring Demetrius to him."

East Garden and Clover Street were completely different from the previous locations, one in the east and one in the west.

However, East Garden was close to Harmony Apartments, only about one to two miles away.

Sharon took a deep breath. "Okay, I understand."

"Don't try any tricks, or you and Seb will never see Demetrius again."

Sharon's grip on the phone tightened. After a few seconds, she replied, "Got it."

Since the call was on speaker, Seb heard everything.

She looked at Seb and said, "I'll have the driver go slow. You go fast. Once you get Demetrius, I'll find a way back."

With Leo changing the locations last minute, Seb's previous arrangements were now useless, and there was no time to redeploy.

"Alright, be careful."

"I will."

As Sharon was about to get into the car, Seb hugged her from behind.

"Sharon, be safe."

His voice was low and heavy.

Sharon's eyes reddened. She didn't know if she would come back safely.

What awaited her was Leo's trap.

"You too." She gently removed Seb's hands, not looking back, and got into the car.

She feared that if she looked back, she wouldn't be able to leave Seb.

After watching her car drive away, Seb also got into his car.

As soon as the car started, his phone rang.

"Mr. Smith, we've tracked Leo to building 12 of Harmony Apartments. Based on the signal, he's likely on a lower floor, probably below the 10th floor. We're checking each apartment."

"Good, act quickly, but ensure Demetrius's safety first!"

"Understood."

Meanwhile, Leo sat on the couch, shaking his leg and constantly checking the time, his face dark.

Suddenly, Demetrius spoke up.

"I need to pee."

Already irritated, Leo snapped, "Pee in your pants."

"I need to poop too!"

Leo looked at Demetrius, his gaze icy. "I warn you, don't try to be clever."

"I really need to pee and poop! You've had me tied up for so long, I can't hold it anymore!"

Seeing Demetrius's anxious expression, Leo didn't speak, his eyes scrutinizing.

He suspected Demetrius was saying this to try and escape.

Demetrius glared at him. "If you don't let me go to the bathroom, I'll pee in my pants."

Leo raised an eyebrow and suddenly laughed. "Fine, go ahead and pee in your pants."
