Chapter 153 Isn't It Just About Disgusting People? Who Can't Do That?

Seb thought, 'Sharon just doesn't like me that much.'

But they had a lifetime ahead, and he was patient enough to make sure Sharon would rely on him like she used to rely on Alex.

"Yeah, but I hope if someone gives you trouble, you'll ask me for help instead of handling it alone."

Seb's serious look made Sharon's heart soften.

"Okay."

Back in her room, Sharon was about to remove her makeup when her phone rang. It was Sophie.

"Sharon, Clara's spreading rumors that you hit her. It's all over Metropolis."

Sharon sighed. "Don't worry. She'll get what she deserves soon."

Sophie was furious. "You have no idea how nasty her words are. I'm so mad I could explode."

Sharon felt a warmth in her heart. "Don't let Clara ruin your mood. Your body hasn't fully recovered yet."

"Yeah, I'm just worried about you."

"The worst is over. I don't care what Clara and Alex do now."

To Sharon, Clara and Alex were just jerks, not worth her energy. But if they kept causing trouble, she wouldn't hold back.

Sophie sighed. "As long as you don't care. I just can't believe Alex, who used to treat you so well, turned out like this. Never mind, let's not talk about it."

Sharon pressed her lips together, her expression unchanged.

"Nothing stays the same forever, not even feelings."

Sophie didn't continue the topic and chatted a bit before hanging up.

Sharon put down her phone, thinking about what Seb had said. She realized his words came from insecurity.

Their relationship was so fragile that any misstep could lead to disaster. Both Seb and she felt insecure.

The day Seb found out she was manipulating him, their relationship would end abruptly.

Thinking about this, Sharon felt a dull pain in her chest. She forced herself to ignore the rising bitterness and got up to shower.

When Sharon came out of the shower, she saw several missed calls from Alex. Her brows furrowed.

Besides the missed calls, there were messages from Alex wanting to meet.

Sharon's expression was indifferent. She didn't want to respond, but if she didn't, Alex might show up at Silvercrest Group tomorrow to pester her.

After a moment's thought, Sharon called back.

"What do you want?"

Her tone was so calm it was almost indifferent, making Alex frown on the other end.

"Sharon, a lot of people in Metropolis know about you hitting my mom. She said if you come and apologize, she won't press charges. Otherwise, she'll call the police."

Sharon laughed in anger. She couldn't believe Clara and Alex could be so shameless.

"If there's something wrong with your brain, go see a doctor. Don't miss the best treatment time."

There was a few seconds of silence, then Alex's angry voice came through. "Sharon, I'm doing this for your own good. If she calls the police and it gets to Silvercrest Group, it won't be good for you or Seb, right?"

Sharon raised an eyebrow. 'Is Alex threatening me?'

She didn't want Alex and Clara causing trouble at Silvercrest Group and bothering Seb, but that didn't mean they could push her around.

"If you're going to call the police, do it now. If you don't, I will."

She hung up and immediately contacted Mark to get the morning's surveillance footage and explained what Clara had done. Mark said they could sue Clara for defamation.

Sharon smirked and texted back.

[Then let's sue.]

While defamation wouldn't land Clara in jail, the news of her being sued would definitely embarrass her.

Mark: [Okay.]

Mark then asked if Sharon was free for lunch tomorrow to discuss the division of assets with Alex.

After arranging to meet Mark at a restaurant near the company, Sharon dried her hair and went to sleep.

Meanwhile, Alex sat in his study, fuming.

"She refused to meet."

Clara gritted her teeth. "Then I'll find her tomorrow. I must make her sign the letter of understanding!"

She had been spreading rumors to force Sharon to come to her, but Sharon was unyielding.

"Mom, your foot is injured. Going won't help."

Alex had realized Sharon no longer cared about him, which broke his heart.

"Even if it doesn't help, I have to go. Otherwise, David is really done for."

After a moment, Alex said, "Mom, I went to see Dad today. He agreed to transfer his company to me."

Clara was stunned, then quickly understood.

"What do you mean? Are you not going to help him?"

Alex looked helpless. "It's not that I don't want to help him. Given the circumstances, I can't save him. It's better to take over his company and then find a way to save him once I have the power to go against Seb."

Clara's gaze turned disappointed. "In the end, you're just thinking about yourself. You're trying to take his company instead of saving him."

Alex felt annoyed. "If you insist on thinking that way, there's nothing I can do."

"He's your father. If you don't help him, who will?"

"I told you, I can't help him. I have to take over the company tomorrow. You should go back."

Seeing Alex's cold expression, Clara knew her words wouldn't change his mind. Alex really wouldn't help David anymore.

She stood up and sneered. "Alex, no matter how bad he is, he's still your father. You'll regret being so heartless one day!"

Alex was stung by her words and responded mockingly, "Even if you save him, won't he just go back to partying with those women?"

To Alex, Clara's efforts for David, a man who no longer loved her, were both pathetic and laughable.

"No matter what those women do, they can't shake my position. I'll always be his wife!"

"Then figure it out yourself. I have more important things to do now."

Alex only wanted to grow the company David had given him and then take revenge on Seb and Sharon, making Sharon regret leaving him!
