Chapter 194 We Are the Most Suitable for Each Other
Ava never thought Alex would hit her. She stumbled back, barely catching herself on the cabinet by the door.
Clutching her stomach, tears welled up in her eyes. "Alex, I'm pregnant with your child. How could you hit me?"
Alex sneered. "Why not? I told you to take care of the baby, but you betrayed me. You're just dragging me down. We're getting divorced tomorrow!"
Ava was shocked. "I won't divorce you!"
She had worked too hard to marry Alex. She wasn't giving up now.
"What right do you have to disagree? After the divorce, keep the baby or don't. It's not my problem."
Seeing Alex was serious, panic set in. She grabbed his arm, crying, "Alex, you can't do this. If you divorce me, I'll kill myself!"
Alex shook her off coldly. "Go ahead if you want to die."
He pushed the door open and left. Ava collapsed, tears streaming down her face.
'How did it come to this?' she wondered.
Suddenly, determination flashed in her eyes. She called Grace.
"Grace, Alex is divorcing me tomorrow. It's your fault. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be in this mess!"
After a pause, Grace's mocking voice came through. "You did this to yourself. Who else are you blame?"
Ava gritted her teeth. "If I divorce Alex, I'll tell Seb everything you made me do. Let's see if you can still talk like this then!"
Grace's tone turned cold. "Don't forget, the baby isn't Alex's. If he finds out, do you think he'll let you off easily?"
Grace knew everything before returning. Alex and Sharon's divorce was all because of Ava.
"If Alex finds out the child isn't his, it'll destroy him."
"You wouldn't dare!"
Grace smiled. "Keep your mouth shut, and no one will ever know."
"Just you wait!"
Ava hung up angrily. Looking at her slightly bulging belly, a ruthless glint flashed in her eyes. 'This child can't stay,' she thought.
Sharon got home, organized the material Vincent had given her, and sent it to Mark. Then the doorbell rang.
Seeing Alex outside, Sharon frowned and didn't open the door. Remembering how he had threatened her with a knife last time, she called the police.
The police arrived quickly. Only then did Sharon open the door.
"Sharon," Alex said, agitated, trying to approach her, but the police stopped him.
"Sharon, I just want to see you. I don't want to hurt you."
Alex looked drunk, his face red and eyes unfocused.
Sharon's expression was cold. "We're divorced. If you come here again, I'll call the police."
Alex looked hurt. "I didn't know you hated me so much."
Sharon turned away, disgusted by his affectionate act.
The police took Alex to the station for a statement. Ava eventually bailed him out.
As Alex was leaving, Ava grabbed him. "Alex, I know I messed up, but we have a child. Even if you don't like me, think about the baby. If you divorce me now, people will think you're guilty, and your reputation will suffer."
Alex shook her off coldly. "I don't need your fake concern. My reputation is already ruined. You staying with me will only make it worse."
He realized Ava was a jealous, reckless woman. Marrying her was a mistake.
"Alex, I really know I was wrong."
"If you know you're wrong, go to the Vital Records Office first thing in the morning to get divorced. I can't stand to look at you for another second!"
Alex turned and left, his back radiating coldness.
Ava watched him go, eyes filled with resentment. She wouldn't let him kick her out so easily.
Back in the car, Ava made a call.
The next morning, as Sharon was coming downstairs, Alex blocked her way.
Seeing the roses and breakfast in his hands, Sharon's eyes flashed with disgust. She pretended not to see him.
"Sharon, I'm sorry for scaring you last night. This is my apology. I hope you can accept it."
Sharon took two steps back, wary. "What do you want?"
She kept a close eye on Alex, ready to run if needed. To her, he was a lunatic.
"Sharon, I'm really here to apologize. I promise I won't hurt you again. I was just angry last time."
Sharon's expression was indifferent. "I don't need your apology. Just stay away from me."
"Alright, then at least take the flowers and breakfast."
"I don't want them."
"Sharon, I'm divorcing Ava today. I was stupid before and did a lot of things that hurt you. Can you give me a chance to start over?"
Sharon laughed in anger. "Alex, I don't know how you have the nerve to say that. Do you really think you're the only guy out there?"
Alex stayed calm. "Sharon, I told you before that my Uncle Seb wouldn't marry you, but you didn't believe me. As soon as Grace returned, he immediately abandoned you for her."
"Even so, I won't get back with you."
Alex smiled slightly. "Sharon, you'll find out that we're meant for each other."
