Chapter 258 The Body Will Eventually Collapse

David was mid-sentence when Tyler cut him off, "Shut up!"

Tyler was stewing, thinking, 'Who knows what this hypnosis crap will do? I've heard people turn into total idiots after that.'

David, scared stiff by Tyler's icy glare, went pale. He quickly looked down, not daring to meet his eyes.

Thinking about how Seb had been messing with Alex's company lately, which was about to go under, David found his courage again.

"Dad, I'm just throwing out a suggestion. Seb's my brother, right? Why would I want to hurt him? I'm doing this for him and the Smiths!"

Tyler shot him a hard look, "You're doing it for yourself, aren't you?"

"Dad, it's just a suggestion. If you're not into it, then forget it."

"I will never agree. Don't ever bring this up again, or you'll regret it!"

With that, Tyler got up and stormed out without even looking back at David.

David watched Tyler leave, his eyes burning with anger and resentment.

'Tyler's all over Seb. Alex and I are just disposable,' David thought, his hatred growing.

'One day, I'll make Tyler regret this!' David cursed to himself.

After David left, Sandra found Tyler and sighed, "Tyler, David kinda has a point. Seb drove into Alex for Sharon. We gotta stop this."

Tyler looked up, his gaze at Sandra as cold as ice.

"You think he should be hypnotized too?"

Sandra sighed, "I just want my son back."

Sandra thought, 'It's all because of Sharon. If it weren't for her, Seb and Alex wouldn't be at each other's throats, and the Smiths wouldn't be in such a mess.'

Sandra's biggest regret was letting Alex marry Sharon.

"Enough, I said no. Don't entertain David's nonsense either. I know what he's up to!"

David's words today were just because Alex's small company was about to tank, and he wanted Tyler to step in and stop Seb.

But Alex's small company was already on the edge. Even if Seb did nothing, it would go bankrupt in six months tops.

Thinking of this, Tyler's eyes were filled with disappointment.

If it weren't for the fact that everyone in the Smiths except Seb was a bunch of slackers, he wouldn't be so worried.

After much thought, Tyler decided to go to Silvercrest Group to talk to Seb. If Seb kept acting recklessly, something bad was bound to happen sooner or later.

At the top floor conference room of Silvercrest Group, the atmosphere was heavy and silent.

Finally, one of the shareholders couldn't keep it together and shot Seb a look of pure annoyance.

"Mr. Smith, shouldn't you run stuff by us before making big decisions that mess with the company? At the very least, give us a heads-up. You can't just go off on the Edwards Group because of some personal beef, ticking off all our partners. Now we're stuck dealing with their anger. Why should we put up with this?"

Seb gave him a cold stare and said, "If you're not happy, sell your shares in Silvercrest Group. I'll buy them at ten times the market price."

As soon as he said that, a lot of people perked up.

With Seb's wild antics, they figured Silvercrest Group was headed for disaster anyway.

Selling their shares to Seb at a sky-high price and investing somewhere else seemed like a sweet deal. Plus, who knew when Silvercrest Group's stock would ever hit ten times its current value?

Thinking this over, some of them immediately jumped at the chance to sell.

Seb's face stayed stone-cold. He told Paul to tally up who wanted to sell and had lawyers draft the contracts right away.

Soon enough, those shareholders signed the share transfer agreements, and the money hit their accounts shortly after.

After getting their cash, many of them left with big grins and a spring in their step.

Seeing this, the remaining shareholders started to get tempted too.

Seb looked at the rest of them and said, "If anyone else wants to sell their shares, now's your chance. You won't get a better deal after today."

Hearing that, a few more shareholders decided to sell. Watching them leave all happy with their bank notifications, Paul couldn't help but shake his head.

What they didn't know was that Seb had secretly developed a chronic disease medication that had already passed clinical trials and was about to hit the market.

There were millions of chronic disease patients in the country. Once the medication was released, Silvercrest Group's stock price would go through the roof.

The more excited they were now, the more they'd regret today's decision later.

Plus, the Edwards Group had always been a rival to Silvercrest Group. It was only because Seb and Victor had a good relationship that Seb had tolerated some deals that hurt Silvercrest Group's interests. Now that Victor and Seb were on opposite sides, taking down the Edwards Group was totally in Silvercrest Group's favor.

Noticing that no one else was keen on selling their shares, Seb coldly declared, "Since none of you are selling, meeting adjourned!"

Without sparing a glance at the shareholders, Seb got up and walked out.

After Paul left too, the heavy atmosphere in the conference room finally lightened a bit, and one shareholder couldn't help but start griping.

"Mr. Smith is way too reckless. Sure, he founded Silvercrest Group, but we've put in a lot too, especially you, Joshua. We don't have many shares, but Mr. Smith didn't even clue you in about going after the Edwards Group. Can you stand for this?"

Everyone knew Joshua's wife was from the Edwards family. Seb's actions against the Edwards Group were a direct slap in Joshua's face.

Joshua's face darkened, and he snapped, "Why didn't you say this when Mr. Smith was here? If you don't like it, sell your shares and get out. Stop stirring the pot!"

With that, Joshua got up and left, leaving the other shareholders behind.

Back in his office, Seb was about to dive into some documents when Paul knocked and came in.

"Mr. Smith, ever since Ms. Wright went missing, you haven't rested properly. After the new drug is released, why don't you take a break?"

A few days ago, Seb was hospitalized for a stomach hemorrhage. The doctor warned that if Seb kept pushing himself without rest, his body would eventually give out.

Moreover, in the past month, Seb had visibly lost weight. His suits, which used to fit perfectly, were now noticeably loose.

When the designer came to take new measurements, they secretly asked Paul if Seb was ill, wondering why he had lost so much weight and expressing their concern.

Seb looked up at Paul and said in a deep voice, "I'll handle it myself. Go back to work."

Paul wanted to push further, but Seb's face was like a brick wall. He knew it was no use. He sighed and turned to leave.

As he stepped out of the office, he saw Tyler coming out of the elevator.

Paul was surprised and quickly walked up to Tyler. "Mr. Smith, what brings you here all of a sudden?"

Seeing him, Tyler said calmly, "I'm here to see Seb. Take me to him."

Paul hesitated, knowing that Tyler had previously confined Seb to a ward and that Seb had instructed him not to let any Smiths see him.

Noticing Paul's hesitation, Tyler's face darkened. "Mr. Harris, if you don't take me to him, I'll go myself."

As Tyler was about to walk past him, Paul quickly stopped him.

"Mr. Tyler Smith, Mr. Seb Smith is working. Let me inform him that you're here."

Tyler frowned, trying to keep his anger in check. "Fine."

He was already here. If Seb refused to see him, he'd wait until he did. He didn't believe Seb would ignore him forever.

When Seb heard Tyler was there to see him, his expression turned icy. "Didn't I tell you to say I'm not here if any Smiths come looking for me?"

"Mr. Seb Smith, Mr. Tyler Smith is your father. If you don't see him, people in the company will talk. With the new drug about to launch, any bad rumors could hurt its release."

Seb's face darkened, and after a long pause, he said coldly, "Let him in."

When Tyler walked into the office, Seb was already sitting on the couch, waiting for him.

"What do you want?"

Seb's indifferent expression made Tyler bristle, and he frowned. "Are you still mad at me?"

Seb chuckled lightly and said slowly, "No, after all, you are my father. Whatever you do to me, you always have your reasons and it's always 'for my own good.'"

Tyler was furious. He sat down opposite Seb with a grim face and said in a deep voice, "I admit I went too far by confining you to the hospital, but it was because you were emotionally unstable. If I hadn't stopped you, you might not be alive now."

Thinking about how Seb and Alex had been at each other's throats because of Sharon made Tyler even angrier.

But now that Sharon was dead, there was no point in discussing it further.

"Just tell me why you're here. I have a lot of work to do."

Seeing Seb's indifferent expression, completely ignoring his words, Tyler felt a surge of anger and almost couldn't hold back from scolding Seb.

After a moment, Tyler finally spoke, "Look, I know you're mad at Alex, but hitting him with your car was enough. You are family. Keep going after his company, and you're just gonna make yourself look bad. People are gonna think you're crazy."

Seb interrupted him, "If you're here about Alex's company, you'll be disappointed. I won't let him off."

Sensing Seb's defiance, Tyler couldn't contain his anger any longer.

"Seb, what are you trying to do? Are you going to push Alex to the brink for Sharon?"

Seb chuckled and looked Tyler in the eye, speaking slowly, "Why would I? Isn't there still the Smith Group? Even if that subsidiary goes bankrupt, you can just give him another one, can't you?"

Tyler was furious. "The Smith Group's subsidiaries aren't some kind of throwaway items!"

Moreover, he planned to leave the company to Seb. Alex and Randy didn't have the capability to lead the Smith Group and would only drive it into the ground.
