Chapter 241 Between You And Ms. Wright, There's Still Seb
Feeling the intense vibe coming off him, Joseph couldn't help but get a bit freaked out. He nodded and said, "Alright, got it."
After Joseph took off, Alex did too.
But without even realizing it, he ended up at the entrance of Sharon's apartment.
Thinking about the past, Alex felt a mix of regret and bitterness.
If he hadn't been swayed by Ava back then, if he'd just been a bit stronger, he and Sharon wouldn't be in this mess.
Just then, he spotted a familiar figure.
Sharon was slowly making her way home, lugging two big bags. They were so heavy she had to stop and rest every few steps.
As Alex debated whether to get out of the car, the bag in Sharon's left hand suddenly ripped, and all the fruits spilled out.
Alex took a deep breath, pushed open the car door, and quickly walked over to her.
Sharon was picking up the apples when suddenly a fruit was handed to her from the side.
She turned her head and saw it was Alex. Her brows immediately furrowed, and her gaze turned icy.
"What are you doing here?"
Seeing the cold look in Sharon's eyes, Alex's face turned bitter. "I was just passing by and saw your fruits spill out."
'Passing by?' Sharon thought.
The place she lived wasn't on the main road, and it wasn't anywhere near Alex's company.
'How could Alex just happen to pass by?' She wasn't buying it.
Sharon ignored him and didn't take the fruit from his hand. She kept picking up the other scattered fruits and turned to leave.
Alex's hand, holding the apple, turned slightly white. His expression was tight. After hesitating for a moment, he still chased after her.
"Sharon, I came here today to apologize to you. I..."
Sharon cut him off coldly, "Alex, I don't know what you want, but I won't accept your apology, nor will I forgive you. If you really feel guilty, don't show up in front of me and disgust me."
A wave of bitterness washed over Alex. He knew Sharon wouldn't forgive him anytime soon for the pain he'd caused.
"Sharon..." Alex still wanted to say something, but Sharon ignored him and walked straight into the neighborhood.
The security guard in the guardhouse glared at Alex, clearly remembering the last time he harassed Sharon.
Watching Sharon's figure fade away, Alex sighed and turned to leave.
For the next few days, Alex spent all his free time hanging around Sharon's neighborhood, hoping to catch a glimpse of her.
But since that day, he hadn't seen Sharon for an entire week. Alex began to wonder if Sharon was avoiding him.
Until a week later, when he saw Sharon walking out of the neighborhood, Alex's dim eyes suddenly lit up.
As Sharon walked to the guardhouse, the security guard opened the window and said to her, "Ms. Wright, the guy who harassed you before has been waiting at the entrance for a week. I don't know what he wants. Be careful and call us if you need anything."
Following the direction pointed by the security guard, Sharon indeed saw Alex's car parked not far away.
Sharon frowned and nodded, "Okay, I understand. Thanks."
She had no idea what Alex was up to, but she wasn't about to waste her time. She turned and walked towards the supermarket on the other side.
The veggies and fruits she bought last week were almost gone, so she needed to stock up for the next week.
Not long after stepping into the supermarket, Sharon noticed someone tailing her. She turned around and saw Alex standing not far away, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions.
Sharon didn't want to deal with him, so she quickly grabbed her stuff, checked out, and left.
Alex followed her the whole time but didn't actually do anything, so Sharon couldn't call the cops.
Back home, Sharon decided to avoid going out as much as possible and buy groceries online, then pick them up at the guardhouse.
Sharon thought, 'Something's really off about Alex now. If he snaps and makes a move, I'm totally vulnerable.'
If she asked Seb for help, he could probably make Alex leave.
But she didn't want to get involved with the Smiths anymore. Her phone stayed on the dial screen for a long time before she finally put it down.
Alex had been waiting for more than two weeks, not going to the company at all. The shareholders finally couldn't stay calm and questioned Joseph.
"Where the heck is Mr. Smith? He hasn't shown up at the company for two weeks. Is he planning to never come back?"
"If he's not up for the job, he needs to step aside and let someone else take over. The company will be just fine without him!"
"You probably don't know, but my secretary went to Golden Harmony Estates yesterday to drop off some documents and saw Mr. Smith at the entrance. After asking around, she found out that Mr. Smith has been driving there every morning for the past two weeks and leaving late at night. Who knows what he's doing there every day? He can't be waiting for a client!"
Hearing this, the other shareholders' dissatisfaction reached its peak, demanding that Joseph make Alex come back and give an explanation, or they would hold a board meeting to elect a new CEO.
Joseph reluctantly dialed Alex's phone number, but after several attempts, no one answered.
In fact, Joseph had been contacting Alex every day during this period, urging him to return to work, but Alex was like a different person, totally shutting him out.
After too much persuasion, Alex got angry and threatened to fire Joseph if he kept nagging, leaving Joseph with no choice.
"Alright everyone, let's take it easy. I'll get ahold of Mr. Smith again. He'll be here tomorrow, I promise."
After much persuasion, the shareholders finally left.
Joseph immediately drove to Golden Harmony Estates and indeed saw Alex's car parked not far from the neighborhood entrance.
He stopped his car, sighed, and then slowly walked to Alex's car, knocking on the window.
The next second, the window rolled down, revealing Alex's cold face.
"What is it?"
"Mr. Smith, the shareholders found out that you've been waiting here for two weeks. They're threatening to call a board meeting to remove you as CEO if you don't come back right away. On top of that, we also have a backlog of urgent documents that require your attention."
Hearing this, Alex remained unmoved. His gaze was fixed on the entrance of Golden Harmony Estates, and he said in a low voice, "I used to neglect her too much for work. Now, she's the most important thing to me."
Joseph was silent for a moment before speaking, "Sir, if you want to win Ms. Wright back, you should work hard. After all, there's still a Seb between you and Ms. Wright."
Alex's aura turned cold, and a wave of anger surged in his heart.
'Yeah, how could I forget that? Seb is also a reason Sharon and I broke up! If it weren't for Seb seducing Sharon, she wouldn't have left me!' Alex mused.
