Chapter 405 A Mysterious Force is Investigating Sharon

Seb was quiet for a few moments before he turned to Paul and said, "Tell him to come to my office at 10 AM."

Paul nodded, "Got it."

Just as Paul was about to leave, Seb called him back.

"Hold on, go to the pharmacy and grab some stomach medicine, then take it to the lab," Seb instructed.

Paul knew exactly who it was for. Besides Sharon, no one else in the lab had the privilege of Seb personally asking for medicine.

"Alright, I'll get on it," Paul replied.

Sharon had just arrived at the lab when Paul showed up. "Ms. Roach, Mr. Smith asked me to bring you this medicine."

Seeing the bag full of various stomach remedies, Sharon chuckled.

"Mr. Harris, I'm fine. I just overate a bit this morning."

Paul handed her the medicine, "Ms. Roach, please take it. It's Mr. Smith's concern for you, and I need to report back to him."

"Alright, please thank him for me," Sharon said, taking the medicine.

"Ms. Roach, you can thank Mr. Smith yourself when you have lunch with him later. I won't take up any more of your time."

With that, Paul turned and left.

Sharon looked at the bag full of stomach medicine in her hand and thought about how Seb had either held her on his lap or hinted that he needed a wife. She felt a bit overwhelmed.

Just as Sharon put the medicine away, Ariana walked into the office.

Ariana looked pale and exhausted, avoiding Sharon's gaze.

Sharon didn't approach her and instead took her notebook to the lab.

A few minutes later, Ariana stood beside her, and they began their work for the day.

After setting up the experiment and starting the reaction, Ariana finally looked at Sharon, hesitating to speak.

Sharon pretended not to notice and focused on the reaction in the flask.

Ariana bit her lip and finally made up her mind, "Sharon, I want to talk to you about the food delivery yesterday."

Sharon turned to her, "Alright, what do you want to talk about?"

"Can you keep it a secret from the people in the lab that I'm delivering food?"

Ariana's cautious and nervous expression made Sharon feel a bit sorry for her.

"I can keep it a secret for you, but you can't guarantee that you won't run into someone from the lab while delivering food."

"I know."

"Can you tell me why you're delivering food? Is the money I lent you not enough?"

Ariana shook her head and said, "Sharon, the money you lent me is enough until next month, but..."

At this point, Ariana looked down at her toes, hesitating whether to tell Sharon about Kirk.

The next second, Sharon's gentle voice came from above. "Ariana, I've watched you grow step by step in the lab. I know how hard you've worked and what you've been through. You've come this far, and you should focus on your work, not delivering food after work."

A person had limited energy and couldn't work at high intensity every day.

In Sharon's view, Ariana would be better off spending that time learning, which would yield more returns.

Ariana looked up in a panic, "Sharon, don't worry. I won't let delivering food affect my work."

Seeing Ariana's stubborn expression, Sharon had to be more direct. "You say it won't affect your work, but if you're delivering food until midnight every day, do you really think it won't? Can you guarantee you'll still be as meticulous as before? Yesterday, you left right after work to deliver food. What if the experiment requires overtime in the future?"

Ariana's eyes dimmed instantly. She bit her lip, not knowing how to respond.

After a moment of silence, Ariana slowly spoke, "Sharon, I know you're looking out for me, but I really have no choice. I need the extra income to make ends meet."

Sharon sighed, her tone softening, "I get it, but you also need to think about your future. If delivering food messes with your experiments, it would be a real shame."

Ariana's eyes reddened, and she lowered her head, her voice choked, "Sharon, I'll try my best to balance work and delivering food. I won't let it affect the experiments."

Sharon gently patted Ariana's shoulder and handed her a bank card, "Since you don't want to tell me what's troubling you, I won't ask. This money should last you until next month. If it's not enough, come to me. Try not to deliver food anymore."

"No, Sharon, you've already helped me so much. I can't..."

Before Ariana could finish, Sharon firmly placed the card in her hand.

"Take it. The password is four zeros. Tough times will pass."

Ariana was filled with gratitude, her eyes blurred, "Sharon, thank you! I will definitely pay you back!"

Sharon wiped her tears, "Alright, let's get back to work."

"Okay."

Ariana looked down at the bank card in her hand, feeling deeply moved.

She would not let Sharon's kindness go to waste and would make sure to escape the Stout family!

At 10 AM, Victor arrived at Seb's office on time.

After five years, Victor stepped into this office again, with a complex expression.

If Victor hadn't trusted Grace so much back then and helped her against Sharon, he and Seb wouldn't have become enemies.

Seb put down his documents, casually twirling a pen in his hand. "What do you want?"

Seb's words brought Victor back to reality. He looked at Seb and walked over to sit across from him.

"I want the project that the Silvercrest Group is negotiating with the Reyes Group."

Seb's hand stopped, a faint smile on his face, "Do you think the current Edwards Group can handle that project? Aren't you afraid you won't be able to complete it?"

"That's my concern. You just need to tell me if you'll make the deal." Victor appeared calm, but his hand on his leg was clenched, veins bulging.

If today's negotiation with Seb failed, the Edwards Group would face even more difficulties.

Seb raised an eyebrow and said, "I need to see if what you have on Sharon is worth that project."

"Don't worry, it's definitely worth it."

Seb picked up the internal phone and asked Paul to bring the Reyes Group project contract.

After Paul placed the document on the table, he turned and left.

As soon as the office door closed, Victor eagerly reached for the contract.

But before he could touch it, a slender hand pressed down on it.

"Talk first," Seb said.

Victor took a deep breath and slowly said, "Five years ago, a foreign force was investigating Sharon. Grace provided them with some information about Sharon, but after Sharon fell into the sea, that force suddenly disappeared. However, it seems that force has reappeared recently."
