Chapter 302 No Need to Leave the Group to Him

Sharon's eyes showed a hint of helplessness as she nodded, "Alright, you should head back. You can still catch a few hours of sleep before dawn."

"Okay, stay safe. Call me if you need anything," Zachary replied with concern.

After seeing Zachary off, Sharon pulled out her suitcase and started packing.

In less than half an hour, she was all set to go.

It took over three hours to get from Aidamore to Metropolis. Sharon hadn't slept all night and was already exhausted, but she didn't feel sleepy at all.

If she could, she'd never set foot in Metropolis again.

But for Demetrius, she had to go back!

At the Smith Mansion.

David had just arrived at the entrance when Seb's men stopped him.

"What’s this about? Are you saying I can't even enter the Smith Mansion?" David snapped, frustration evident in his voice.

A cold voice came from behind the crowd, "Of course you can, David. Welcome back."

When David saw Seb, his face darkened, and his hand clenched tightly at his side. "Seb, I heard you locked up Dad? Are you out of your mind?"

Meeting David's angry gaze nonchalantly, Seb's lips curled into a smile. "David, what are you talking about? I'm just worried that Dad. At his age, he shouldn't have to deal with my stuff. I just want him to rest at home for a while."

David gritted his teeth and said coldly, "I don't want to hear your nonsense. I want to see Dad!"

"Fine."

As soon as Seb finished speaking, the men in black who had been blocking David immediately stepped aside.

David sneered and said mockingly, "If Dad knew that letting you take over the Smith Group would lead to this, I wonder if he would regret it!"

Back then, Tyler had driven the three of them out of the country for Seb's sake and forbade them from returning. David had been feeling resentful.

But he also knew that his abilities were far inferior to Seb's, and the Smith Group was indeed better off in Seb's hands. So, no matter how unwilling he was, he had to accept that.

"Really? You can ask him yourself," Seb replied with a smirk.

David's eyes turned cold, and he headed straight toward Tyler's room without another word.

When he reached Tyler's room, he saw two men in black standing guard on either side of the door. David frowned, his eyes flashing with anger.

Seb's behavior was no different from treating Tyler like a prisoner.

"I want to see my dad," David demanded.

"Mr. Tyler Smith just took his medicine. Mr. David Smith, you can go right in," one of the guards said.

David's steps halted abruptly. "What medicine?"

"It's the sedative Mr. Tyler Smith takes every day."

Hearing this, David finally breathed a sigh of relief. If Seb had given Tyler some harmful medicine, he would never forgive Seb!

David pushed the door open and walked in, seeing Tyler's face, which had aged significantly in the past five years, and his head full of white hair. David's eyes couldn't help but redden.

Over the years, he had wanted to come back and see Tyler several times, but Tyler had always refused.

Although David resented Tyler, he missed him even more.

Over the years, as he grew older, David began to reflect on himself.

He wasn't a good son, nor a good father, and certainly not a good husband.

"Dad!" David walked up to Tyler, his eyes red.

Tyler was also moved and gently patted David's shoulder.

Over the years, he had always refused to let David return to the country, but no matter what, David was his biological son. How could he not miss him at all?

"It's good that you're back. Where are Alex and Clara?"

"I came back in a hurry. They'll be back in a few days."

Tyler nodded. "I see. You know why I called you back this time, right?"

"Yeah, Dad, I know Seb's your favorite, but what he did this time is really too much. Are you still gonna put up with him?"

Tyler stayed quiet for a moment before sighing. "I know. That's why I called you back. When he regains his memory, he might turn against all of us."

David hesitated, then lowered his voice. "Dad, the doctor who hypnotized Seb died in an accident three months ago, so Seb might not get his memory back."

"It doesn't matter if he regains his memory or not. After this, I realize it's better to hand over the group to someone obedient rather than rebellious."

Hearing that, David's eyes lit up, and he clenched his hands excitedly. "Dad, are you saying..."

Tyler stated, "I still have 20% of the Smith Group's shares. I plan to transfer all of them to Alex."

The next second, David's eyes flashed with disappointment. He had thought Tyler would give the shares to him.

But on second thought, if Alex became the president of the Smith Group, he could still share the benefits.

"Dad, are you serious?" David asked.

Tyler nodded. "Yes, as soon as Alex returns, I'll transfer the shares to him."

"But what about Seb..." David trailed off, worry creeping into his voice.

Tyler sneered. "Since he refuses to listen to me, there's no need to leave the group to him!"

Seeing Tyler like this, David knew that he was truly disappointed in Seb.

"Dad, the most important thing now is to get Seb's people to leave. We can talk about the rest later."

Hearing this, Tyler's eyes flashed with coldness. "Don't worry, he'll make them leave soon."

David was stunned for a moment and was about to ask what he meant when Tyler waved his hand. "Go back to rest."

"Alright, call me if you need anything."

David had just walked out of Tyler's room when he ran into Seb.

"What did Dad say to you?" Seb asked.

David looked at him coldly. "If you want to know, you can ask him yourself."

Seb's lips curled into a faint smile, and his eyes held a hint of mockery. "David, I heard you were involved in my memory loss five years ago, right?"

His sharp gaze seemed to see through people, and David instinctively looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"David, if you tell me the truth about what happened five years ago, I'll let you go. But if I find out on my own, it won't be so easy to resolve."

Hearing that, David's heart skipped a beat, and cold sweat broke out on his back.

He knew Seb's character and could hear the threat in his voice.

If the doctor who had hypnotized Seb hadn't died in an accident, he might have told Seb the truth and let him find the doctor himself.

If something went wrong during the re-hypnosis, it would have nothing to do with him.

Thinking of this, David's eyes flashed with coldness. "Seb, I really don't know anything."

Seb's lips curled into a cold smile as he brushed past David and pushed open Tyler's bedroom door.

"What are you doing here?" Tyler looked at Seb with angry eyes, filled with disappointment.

He had spent so much effort raising Seb over the years, only for Seb to turn against him for Sharon!

Seb remained expressionless as he asked, "Where are you hiding Demetrius?"
