Chapter 327 Compared to Seb, You're Really Far Behind

Alex's face went pale, and he quickly hit the call button by Tyler's hospital bed.

The nurse rushed in, checked on Tyler, and immediately cleared the room, hooking him up to a ventilator.

Outside the ward, Alex glared at Ernest. "Mr. Torres, are you here to mock the Smith family? If so, now that my grandfather's fainted because of you, can you just leave?"

Ernest smirked at Alex's angry face. "I'm just here to remind your grandfather not to throw away a lifetime of hard work at his age."

Alex scoffed, "That's none of your business!"

Ernest didn't get mad. He just shook his head and said, "Compared to Seb, you're way behind."

With that, he turned and walked away.

Alex stared at Ernest's back, seething with anger, his fists clenched tight.

Everyone said he was no match for Seb, but he was determined to prove them wrong!

After a few hours on the ventilator, Tyler finally woke up.

The nurse warned Alex that Tyler couldn't get upset again, or his condition would worsen.

Alex nodded seriously. "Got it."

Not long after, David and Clara rushed in, both looking worried.

David frowned at Alex. "Alex, do you know people online are trashing you? And some Smith Group shareholders are secretly banding together, saying if you take over, they'll sell their shares!"

Alex's face darkened even more, and he pulled David outside the ward.

"Dad, how much money do you have right now?" Alex asked.

David replied, "About ten million dollars I can use. What's wrong?"

Alex took a deep breath. "Give me that money. I'll buy their shares."

David hesitated, doubt in his eyes. "Are you sure? That might only get you about 1% of the shares. It won't make much difference."

Plus, if he gave all his money to Alex, it would be a total loss if Alex couldn't take over the Smith Group.

Seeing David's reluctance, Alex said quietly, "Dad, think about it. Since Grandpa fainted, neither Seb nor Randy has visited him. Grandpa must see what kind of people they are."

Alex continued, "In the future, all Grandpa's inheritance will come to us. This ten million dollars is just a drop in the bucket compared to his estate. Give it to me now, and I'll pay you back later!"

After thinking it over, David agreed. "Okay, I'll transfer it to you later."

Alex said confidently, "Don't worry, I'll pay you back double in the future!"

David looked at him, wanting to say something but hesitating.

He had seen the mistakes Alex made in Seb's statement. Any business-savvy person wouldn't have made those mistakes, but Alex made every single one, showing he wasn't fit to manage the Smith Group.

If Seb were his biological brother, David would stop Alex from fighting Seb for the Smith Group. But now, he didn't want the Smith Group to fall into the hands of an outsider!

Lost in his thoughts, he missed the fleeting malice in Alex's eyes.

Soon, David transferred all the money from his bank account to Alex.

Alex said, "Dad, I have to go. Please take care of Grandpa."

David hesitated for a moment and couldn't help but say, "Alex, if you really can't beat Seb, just give up. We can live a decent life abroad with the monthly allowance."

Alex looked at him deeply and nodded. "Okay, Dad, I understand."

After leaving the hospital, Alex didn't go to buy shares from the Smith Group's shareholders. Instead, he made a phone call. "Help me kidnap someone. I'll pay you two million dollars."

Then he hung up the phone, his eyes flashing with malice.

Alex thought to himself, 'Seb, since you've blocked all my escape routes, I'll make you taste the agony of losing your son right before your eyes!'

Meanwhile, Sharon also saw the online comments. At first, she was worried about Seb, but soon she saw the news of Silvercrest Group's counterattack and finally let out a sigh of relief.

Dana, who was beside Sharon, noticed her tension and couldn't help but mention it when she brought coffee to Seb.

Dana said, "Mr. Seb Smith, this morning Ms. Roach saw the video of Mr. Tyler Smith and Alex accusing you online. She was very anxious and kept checking her phone. She only relaxed after seeing the surveillance footage. It's obvious that Ms. Roach has feelings for you, and you don't seem as indifferent to her as you claim. You two have already missed five years. Do you want to keep missing each other?"

The more Dana spoke, the darker Seb's face became.

Seb asked, "Did she ask you to tell me this?"

Dana was stunned for a moment and quickly explained, "No, Ms. Roach didn't mention you to me. These are just my own observations during her time at the villa."

Seb sneered, "She is quite scheming. She's only been here a few days, and she's already got you speaking for her!"

Seeing that Seb wasn't listening and was instead misunderstanding Sharon more, Dana quickly said, "Mr. Smith, I won't say anything more. These words come from my own heart and have nothing to do with Ms. Roach."

Then, she hurriedly left with the tray, afraid Seb would say more.

As the study returned to silence, Seb's face grew even darker.

After thinking for a moment, Seb called Paul and asked him to come to the villa.

In less than half an hour, Paul arrived.

Due to his deceit, Seb had put him on leave and sent him home, pending a decision on how to deal with him.

Paul asked, "Mr. Smith, what do you need?"

Seb looked at him, his eyes cold. "Tell me about my relationship with Sharon five years ago. This is your only chance. If you hide anything, you won't return to Silvercrest Group, and no company at home will hire you!"

Paul's face changed, and a look of determination gradually appeared in his eyes. Meeting Seb's cold gaze, he slowly said, "Okay, I understand."

After spending more than two hours in the study, Paul finally walked out.

Passing through the living room, he looked at Sharon with a complex expression. "Ms. Roach, I'm sorry. I didn't tell Mr. Smith the truth before, causing you and Demetrius a lot of pain."

If he had told Seb the truth earlier, Sharon might not have plotted against Seb, and there wouldn't have been so many misunderstandings between them.

Sharon looked at him calmly. "Mr. Harris, I never blamed you. The situation between Seb and me is our fault. We can't blame anyone else."
