Chapter 621 Can't Even Handle Such a Small Matter?

Sophie was taken aback for a moment, then said incredulously, "I didn't treat you as an equal? If that were true, I wouldn't be here apologizing to you today. I'd be waiting for you to apologize to me!"

Thinking about how she had driven over to apologize right after work, only to be questioned by Randy like this, Sophie felt wronged.

"If you understood your mistake, you'd accept that I still have emotions after hearing your apology. I'm human, not a machine. Just because you apologize doesn't mean all my emotions will instantly calm down."

"Before, when I met with Electra behind your back, and it was always in crowded places, you threatened to break up with me. Now, you secretly meet Saul, even after knowing he kidnapped you, and you still want to see him before leaving. What position does that put me in? How important is Saul to you?"

Seeing Randy's angry expression, Sophie took a couple of steps back.

"So what are you saying now? You won't accept my apology and want to break up with me, is that it?"

Randy took a deep breath and looked down. "Let's take a few days to cool off. No contact during this time."

Sophie nodded, "Fine, we'll talk when you've calmed down."

With that, she turned and left.

The door slammed shut, and the study fell silent.

Randy turned back to his desk, picked up a document, but couldn't focus on a single word.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

Seeing it was his secretary, Randy picked up the call.

"What's up?"

"Mr. Smith, Mr. Ross, and Mr. Loomis are here at the office. They want to meet with you."

Randy's eyes flashed coldly, "Tell them I'm busy and they need to leave."

"But they refuse to go. They said they'll wait at the Smith Group until you show up."

Randy's eyes showed impatience. "Is the company's security just for show? Do I need to teach you how to handle this?"

The secretary had been waiting for this instruction, quickly responding, "Got it, Mr. Smith. I'll take care of it."

After hanging up, the secretary called the security office, "Bring a few people to the CEO's office. There are two men here who refuse to leave."

Ten minutes later, Ulysses and Delbert were escorted out of the Smith Group.

Ulysses was furious, his face livid, "Randy is too arrogant! The Smith Group has indeed developed well over the years, but without Silvercrest Group backing him, with his personality of offending everyone, the Smith Group would have been gone long ago!"

Delbert looked at him, "Mr. Ross, we need Randy's help right now. We should just suck it up. Since he won't meet us at the office, we'll go to the Smith Villa and wait at the gate. I don't believe he'll stay inside forever."

"Alright, Delbert, thank you. It's in times of trouble that you see who truly cares. Electra is lucky to have a friend like you."

The two went directly to the Smith Villa gate and waited until nightfall, but Randy showed no sign of coming out.

Ulysses grew impatient, "Delbert, could Randy have left from another exit and not be home at all?"

Delbert shook his head, "No, Mr. Ross. Let's keep waiting. There's nothing else we can do right now."

"Alright."

Meanwhile, in the villa study.

The butler was reporting to Randy about Delbert and Ulysses waiting at the gate all day.

"Mr. Smith, it's not good to let them keep waiting at the gate. You'll run into them when you go to work in the morning."

Randy looked at the butler and said, "Fine, let them in. Bring them directly to the study."

"Yes, Mr. Smith."

Five minutes later, Ulysses and Delbert walked into Randy's study.

Randy glanced at them and said, "I have a document to finish. Please sit on the sofa for a moment."

Ulysses quickly responded, "Of course, Mr. Smith. Take your time."

After finishing the document, Randy walked over and sat across from them.

"Mr. Ross, Mr. Loomis, what brings you here?"

"Mr. Smith, I'm here for my daughter. You and Electra are friends. I hope you can let her off this time. I promise to strictly discipline her in the future and ensure she never appears before you and Ms. Lee again!"

Randy smiled, "Mr. Ross, her actions of instigating Saul to kidnap Sophie constitute a crime. Whether we're friends or not, I can't do anything about it. You can't expect me to go against the law, can you?"

"Mr. Smith, if you could persuade Ms. Lee to write a letter of forgiveness, the judge might be lenient. Just for..."

Randy interrupted coldly, "Mr. Ross, you seem to have misunderstood. Electra and I are friends, but when she instigated Saul to kidnap my girlfriend, she didn't consider our friendship."

Ulysses' expression froze.

He had only one daughter with his first wife, and later had a son with Winifred. Now both children were in police custody. If they were both sentenced, it would be a significant blow to the Ross Group and him.

His health had been poor in recent years, and he was considering gradually handing over the company to Electra. Who knew she would do something so foolish at this time?

Delbert looked coldly at Randy, "Randy, don't forget, Electra got injured saving you before. Are you going to watch her go to jail?"

Randy chuckled, "Injured saving me? Really?"

"What kind of expression is that? Are you going to be so ungrateful?"

Ignoring Delbert's question, Randy handed him a document from the desk.

"Her injury from saving me was entirely staged. She got hurt because of her actions. What does that have to do with me?"

Delbert's face turned grim as he read the document.

He hadn't expected Electra to go to such lengths to be with Randy, even staging a rescue.

"You can help her if you want, but I won't let the person who kidnapped my girlfriend go. If there's nothing else, please leave. I have work to finish."

With that, Randy returned to his desk and resumed reading the document without another glance at them.

Delbert and Ulysses were silent for a moment before leaving the Smith Villa.

Outside the gate, Ulysses looked at Delbert, "Delbert, what now? Is there no way to get Electra out?"

Delbert shook his head. "Mr. Ross, I advise you not to interfere further. Randy seems determined not to let Electra off."

Knowing how far Electra had gone for Randy, Delbert no longer wanted any association with her.

He realized that no matter how hard he tried or how good he was to her, he would never be as important to her as Randy.

Given that, there was no point in continuing to follow her.

Waiting for someone who would never turn back was too exhausting. He didn't want to be so humble anymore.

Ulysses was stunned, looking at Delbert in disbelief, "Delbert, what do you mean? Didn't you say you'd find a way to get Electra out no matter what?"

"Mr. Ross, the evidence against her for instigating Saul to kidnap Sophie is solid. As long as Randy and Sophie refuse to write a letter of forgiveness, there's nothing I can do. You can't expect me to go against the Smith Group and the Lee Group for Electra, can you?"

If Electra loved him, he might have done it.

But now, he wouldn't waste time and effort on someone who wasn't worth it.

"What about Electra?"

"Mr. Ross, Electra may not get out, but Saul turned himself in, which should lead to a lighter sentence. As I understand, Saul is studying economics in college. As long as he's your child, it doesn't matter who inherits the Ross Group, right?"

With that, Delbert walked away, leaving Ulysses standing there for a long time before getting into his car.

"To the police station."

Since being arrested, Electra had been confident that Ulysses would find a way to get her out, so she wasn't too scared.

She had done worse things before, and Ulysses had always managed to smooth things over. This time would be no different.

After waiting in the interrogation room for a long time, Ulysses finally arrived.

Seeing him, Electra's eyes lit up.

"Dad, you're finally here! When can I get out?"

Ulysses sat across from her, expressionless.

Noticing something was off, Electra's smile faded. "Is this situation more complicated? It's okay, I can stay here a few more days. Don't worry about me."

Seeing Ulysses still silent, Electra's expression grew anxious.

"Dad, what's wrong? Why aren't you saying anything?"

Ulysses took a deep breath and slowly said, "This time, you've caused too much trouble. I can't help you."

"Can't help me? What do you mean? Are you saying I'll be sentenced?"

Ulysses didn't respond, but his silence gave Electra the answer. She stared at him angrily, "Dad, are you going to watch me get sentenced?"

"If you knew you'd be sentenced, you shouldn't have done something so stupid! Did you think I could fix everything for you?"

Electra looked at him in disbelief, her voice cold, "If I'm sentenced, what about the company? Can your health hold out until I'm released?"

Ulysses was the CEO of the Ross Group. How could he not handle such a small matter?

Besides, she hadn't done anything to Sophie. It was Saul who threatened her with a knife and injured her!

Ulysses was silent for a moment before looking at her, "I'm planning to hand the company over to Saul. He was only instigated by you and turned himself in, so his sentence should be lighter. But don't worry, I'll leave you some money. When you get out, you won't..."

Electra interrupted him sharply, "What did you say? You're giving the company to Saul? Are you crazy? He's just an illegitimate child. How can he inherit the company? The company was founded by my mom. When she died, you promised to give it to me. How can you give it to Saul, that bastard!"
