Chapter 329 Seb Is Actually Going to Give Her a Villa?
Without giving Sharon a chance to speak, Sophie bolted like she was being chased by a ghost.
With Sophie gone, the living room went dead quiet.
Sharon dropped her gaze, hesitated for a sec, then looked up at Seb. To her surprise, Seb was already staring at her. Their eyes locked and neither of them said a word.
Finally, Sharon broke the silence. "Mr. Smith, I'm really sorry about what happened before. I'll make it up to Silvercrest Group for the losses. I just have one request: please don't hide Demetrius."
Seb replied, "I promise, I won't use Demetrius to threaten you again. If you don't want to stay here, you can move out with Demetrius, but you can't go back to Aidamore right now."
If Sharon took Demetrius back to Aidamore, he couldn't guarantee Tyler wouldn't try to kidnap Demetrius again.
But if they stayed in Metropolis, he could protect them.
Sharon was stunned for a moment, then her eyes widened in disbelief. Did she hear that right? Seb actually agreed to her request and even let her move out with Demetrius? How did he suddenly become so accommodating?
"Mr. Smith, are you serious?" Sharon asked, still doubtful.
Seb's gaze deepened as he saw the doubt in her eyes, and he spoke seriously, "Yes, I am. I wronged you before and didn't protect you and Demetrius. From now on, I won't force you to do anything, but you can't stop me from seeing Demetrius."
Seb had just talked with Paul and understood his past with Sharon, realizing how wrong he had been.
He had thought Sharon secretly gave birth to his child, but if he hadn't pestered her back then, she wouldn't have fallen into the sea while pregnant, nor would she have given birth alone. So he had no right to blame her or take Demetrius away from her.
It took Sharon several seconds to process what Seb had just said.
"Can I really leave with Demetrius?" Sharon asked again.
"Yes, but you still can't leave Metropolis for now," Seb reiterated.
Afraid that he would regret it tomorrow, Sharon quickly said, "Alright, I'll pack up now and move out tonight."
Seeing her anxious expression, a deep look flashed in Seb's eyes. As he had suspected, it had all been an illusion. She wouldn't have any feelings for him now. As long as she had the chance to leave him, she would seize it without hesitation.
"No need to rush. I'm going on a business trip tonight and won't be back for a week. Besides, you haven't found a place yet," Seb said calmly.
Hearing this, Sharon hesitated for a moment, wanting to refuse but afraid of angering Seb and making him change his mind, so she nodded. "Okay, I'll leave tomorrow then."
Seb gave her a deep look and turned back to the study, not coming out until dinner time.
Dinner was pretty quiet. Seb was always a man of few words, and Sharon was lost in thoughts about where she and Demetrius would live after leaving the villa.
Despite her previous dislike for this place, she now felt a strange reluctance to leave.
"Mom, you're about to eat your food through your nose," Demetrius reminded.
His voice snapped Sharon back to reality, and then she realized that both Seb and Demetrius were watching her.
Seb and Demetrius, who looked so similar, had almost identical puzzled expressions at that moment.
Sharon withdrew her gaze and smiled awkwardly. "Demetrius, I was just lost in thought."
After dinner, Sharon was planning to take Demetrius for a walk when Seb suddenly asked her to go to the study.
Sharon froze on the spot, her heart pounding like a drum.
Her eyes flashed with panic, and a bunch of wild guesses started swirling in her mind.
Was Seb about to change his mind?
Seb seemed to read her thoughts right away. His expression stayed calm, but his voice had a reassuring tone. "Relax, I'm not going back on my word."
Hearing this, Sharon finally let out a sigh of relief, but she still felt uneasy as she silently followed Seb into the study.
Seb walked over to the desk, picked up a file folder, took out a property deed and a set of keys, and handed them to Sharon.
"I've already transferred this house to you. You can move in with Demetrius," Seb said.
Sharon's eyes widened instantly. She looked at the property deed and keys in Seb's hand in disbelief, her hands instinctively pulling back.
Seb was actually giving her a house?
If someone had told her this before, she would have thought they were nuts.
But now, it was happening right in front of her.
A look of confusion flashed in her eyes, and she felt that she couldn't quite understand Seb's intentions.
"Mr. Smith, this is too valuable. I can't accept it," Sharon said.
Seb looked at her, his expression calm. "You've had a hard time raising Demetrius alone all these years, and it was my fault back then. Consider this house a small compensation. Don't worry, I won't disturb you without your consent."
Seeing that Sharon was still about to refuse, Seb frowned.
"Think about it. Either take the property deed and keys and move out, or stay here," Seb said firmly.
Sharon couldn't help but bite her lip. "Mr. Smith, you said you wouldn't threaten me anymore."
"I'm not threatening you, just giving you a choice," Seb replied.
"But I don't want to choose either of these options," Sharon said, her voice trembling.
"Then I'll choose for you," Seb said decisively.
Before Sharon could say anything, Seb grabbed her hand and placed the keys and property deed in it.
Sharon's body went rigid with surprise because she hadn't expected him to do that.
Just as she was about to pull away, Seb had already let go of her hand.
"Mr. Smith," Sharon started.
"Don't refuse me anymore. I just want to do something for you and Demetrius, and it's no trouble for me," Seb said.
Sharon still wanted to refuse, but Seb checked the time and said in a low voice, "I'm about to miss my flight. I probably won't be here when you and Demetrius move. Let the driver take you."
"Okay," Sharon agreed.
Seb hurriedly left, while Sharon returned to her bedroom with mixed feelings, holding the keys and property deed.
Early the next morning, Sharon began packing her and Demetrius's things.
Demetrius looked at her with a puzzled expression. "Mom, are we going back to Aidamore?"
Sharon continued folding clothes and said softly, "No, we're moving out."
"We're not living with Dad anymore?" Demetrius asked, his voice trembling.
Sharon stopped what she was doing, turned around, and said gently, "Yes, although we won't live together, your dad will still visit you often."
"Okay," Demetrius replied, lowering his head, looking a bit downcast.
Seeing his sadness, Sharon walked over, knelt down in front of him, and looked him in the eye. "Demetrius, do you not want to move?"
Demetrius was silent for a while, and then shook his head. "Mom, let's move. Dad isn't good to you, and you're not happy living here. I don't want you to be unhappy."
