Chapter 127 Three More Years Won't Help

David's face was dark. "You're blaming me? Your son can't even handle a mistress. Useless!"

"Shut up!"

Clara was fuming. "If you weren't always out with other women, Alex wouldn't be like this. He learned it from you!"

David sneered. "I'm not arguing about this. Just don't cause trouble, or if you piss off Tyler, Alex can forget about coming back to the Smith group."

Alex wasn't the only heir to the Smith group.

As David started to leave, Clara tried to stop him, but he pushed her, making her stumble.

By the time she steadied herself, David was gone.

Alex knelt outside the Smith Mansion all night. It started pouring, but he stayed until morning when a servant found him unconscious.

Sandra called the family doctor and had Alex brought inside.

After resting all morning, Alex woke up.

Seeing the familiar room, he smiled.

His plan worked. Pretending to be hurt paid off.

The rain helped; otherwise, he might not have been let in.

With the IV drip almost done, Alex pulled out the needle and went downstairs.

Seeing Sandra and Tyler in the living room, he knelt before them.

"Grandpa, Grandma, I know I messed up. I don't expect forgiveness, but I hope it doesn't piss you off and affect your health."

Tyler's face was stern. He knew Alex was faking it.

Sandra sighed. "You're still sick. Get up."

Alex shook his head. "Grandma, I did wrong. I deserve this."

"Now you know you were wrong. What were you thinking before? How will you fix this?"

Alex looked at Tyler. "This happened because of Sharon, but I was at fault first. I don't blame her. I'll take full responsibility."

Tyler's face darkened. "How will you take responsibility? The Smith group lost billions, and now it's a mess. Even if you clarify, no one will believe you."

Alex paused, then spoke slowly. "Grandpa, I'll send Ava abroad. She won't come back to Metropolis."

Tyler looked at him, disappointed.

He hadn't expected this solution after days of thinking.

"And the child she's carrying?"

"Her health is poor, and an abortion could be dangerous. Besides, it's my child. I'll let her give birth."

"Foolish!"

Tyler was furious. "If you do this, don't expect me to be your grandpa anymore!"

Sandra's face was grim. "Alex, you've been married to Sharon for three years without a child, and now you want an illegitimate one. Are you trying to disgrace the Smith family?"

"Grandma, we haven't had a child because Sharon can't conceive. Three more years won't help."

"What!"

Sandra stared at Alex, shocked. "Are you sure it's her problem?"

"Yes, we had a medical check-up. It's hard for her to get pregnant. So, I plan to let Ava have the baby and have Sharon raise it."

"Why are you telling us this now?"

Sandra was livid. If she'd known Sharon couldn't have kids, she'd never have agreed to the marriage.

Alex lowered his head. "I thought treatment might help her conceive."

Sandra took a deep breath and said coldly, "Call Sharon back. You must divorce her!"

Sandra was already unhappy with Sharon for being disrespectful. Now, knowing she couldn't have kids, she couldn't let Sharon stay with Alex.

Alex looked up. "Grandma, I won't divorce her. I don't care if she can't have children."

"You're crazy. If you don't divorce her, I won't consider you my grandson anymore!"

Sandra stormed off in anger.

Tyler looked at him coldly. "I agree with your grandmother. Sharon is planning to divorce you anyway. Do you really want to stay with a woman who can't have children?"

Alex and Sharon had only been married for three years, and Alex had already cheated with Ava. Their future would be even more chaotic.

But Alex was stubborn this time.

"Grandpa, no matter what, I won't divorce her."

"If you don't divorce her, I won't let you return to the Smith group!"

Alex smiled bitterly. "I've already been kicked out. I have no face to return. I've realized relying on others doesn't work. I'm starting my own business."

Tyler's face was icy. "Do you think you're as talented as your Uncle Seb, that you can succeed in business right away?"

Alex had ignored Tyler's belittlement for years, but now he didn't want to endure it anymore.

Alex pondered, 'I have endured for so long, but Tyler has easily given up on me because of a tabloid scandal. If it was Seb who cheated, Tyler wouldn't have kicked him out. Anyway, Tyler is biased.'

"Grandpa, I may not be as smart as Uncle Seb, but at least I will work hard step by step. And I won't covet someone else's wife!"

Tyler's eyes widened, and he stood up abruptly. "What did you say? Covet someone else's wife?"

Alex stood up, straightened his back, and looked at Tyler with a mocking expression.

"Ask Uncle Seb about it. I also want to know if he has the guts to confess!"

With that, Alex turned and left without looking back.

Tyler's angry roar echoed behind him, but Alex ignored it.

Walking out of the Smith Mansion, Alex looked up at the clear blue sky, his eyes filled with determination and anger.

Alex believed he could carve out his own path and would never be threatened by anyone again!

In Silvercrest Group conference room, Seb was in a meeting when his phone vibrated.

Seeing it was Tyler, he paused the meeting for ten minutes.

Picking up the phone and walking to the window, Seb answered, and Tyler's angry voice came through.

"Seb, Alex just said you covet someone else's wife. What's going on?"
