Chapter 508 Mom, Why Did It Take You So Long

The first room had nothing. The second room was also empty.

After checking all the rooms, Sharon still hadn't found Demetrius, and her frustration was reaching a boiling point.

Just then, Leo's voice came from behind her.

"Sharon, don't worry. Demetrius is in a very safe place. You just need to..."

Before he could finish, Sharon turned around and slapped him.

The sharp sound of the slap echoed through the second-floor hallway, plunging it into silence.

A red handprint quickly appeared on Leo's face, stark and shocking. Yet, he didn't get angry. Instead, he smiled. "Sharon, you still don't trust me at all, do you? You think I would do something to hurt you?"

Sharon glared at him coldly. "I'll ask you one more time: where is Demetrius? If you don't tell me, I'm calling the police!"

Leo's words sounded nice, but he had used underhanded tactics against Silvercrest Group and taken Demetrius without her consent. Every action of his was hurting her.

He was just using the guise of love to satisfy his own selfish desires.

"I told you, Demetrius is safe. I promise, if you let me show you around the villa, I'll let you see him."

Sharon didn't bother to look at him again and quickly walked downstairs.

As soon as she reached the living room, Leo blocked her path. "Sharon, do you really have to be so heartless?"

The smile had vanished from his face, replaced by a dark, brooding look.

Sensing the change in Leo's demeanor, Sharon's hand clenched at her side. The feeling of being watched by a snake crept over her, sending a chill down her spine.

She pressed her lips together and, after a few seconds of silence, spoke coldly, "Are you sure that if I tour the villa with you, you'll let me take Demetrius?"

Leo's lips curled into a cold smile. "Of course, I wouldn't lie to you."

"Fine, I hope you keep your word."

"Don't worry."

As Leo led Sharon around the villa, he explained how he had designed the renovations, which clearly catered to Sharon's past tastes.

But just because she liked it before didn't mean she liked it now.

Sharon suppressed her discomfort and finished the tour.

"We've seen the villa. Now can I see Demetrius?"

Looking into her icy eyes, Leo's gaze flickered. "Sharon, don't be in such a hurry. Sit down for a bit."

Just as Sharon was about to speak, her phone buzzed.

She opened a message from Sophie and let out a cold laugh. "I don't think that's necessary. I already know where Demetrius is."

With that, she turned and headed for the door.

A flash of coldness crossed Leo's eyes, and he ordered the servants to stop her.

"Sharon, this place is so nice. Why leave? Stay here, and I'll bring Demetrius to live with you. You won't have to worry about any harm coming to you both. How about that?"

Sharon turned to him, her face expressionless. "I already called the police on my way here. They should be arriving soon. Save your words for them."

As soon as she finished speaking, the sound of sirens blared outside the villa. Within a minute, two police officers walked in.

Sharon addressed them, "Officers, I'm Sharon Roach. I called you because he took my child from daycare without my consent this evening and refused to tell me where he is."

Leo's eyes darkened. He hadn't expected Sharon to actually call the police.

The officers turned to Leo, their expressions stern. "Is what she said true? Where is her child? If you don't hand him over, we'll have to treat this as a kidnapping and take you in."

Leo's lips curled into a smile as he looked at Sharon. "Sharon, didn't you just say you knew where Demetrius was? Why do you need the police to ask me now?"

Sharon's expression changed, and she spoke coldly, "Leo, I do know where Demetrius is, but that place requires your fingerprint to access. Now that the police are here, you'd better not try any tricks!"

Leo raised an eyebrow, surprised. He hadn't expected her to know where Demetrius was. That place indeed required his fingerprint to enter.

When he took Demetrius, he knew Sharon would come looking for him, so he had locked Demetrius in his office at the company.

Since she already knew where Demetrius was and the police were here, continuing to stall would only harm him.

With that in mind, he nodded. "Alright, I'll..."

Before he could finish, his phone rang.

As he answered, Zack's anxious voice came through. "Mr. Wendy... there's a problem with the company's security system... everything's down. You need to come right away."

"What?" Leo's expression changed, and he looked sharply at Sharon. "Did you do this?"

If Vertex Innovations Group's security system was compromised, all their data could be stolen at any moment.

Sharon frowned at him. "What are you talking about?"

Realizing it couldn't be Sharon, as she didn't have the capability, Leo calmed down. If she did, Silvercrest Group wouldn't have gone bankrupt.

He turned his attention back to the call. "Understood. I'll be there immediately. Have the tech team start fixing the system."

Hanging up, he took a deep breath. "Sharon, I'll take you to get Demetrius now."

Sharon said nothing and followed him out of the villa.

The two police officers dutifully accompanied them to Vertex Innovations Group.

Once they arrived, Sharon quickly got out of the car and headed for the elevator.

Leo soon joined her.

"Sharon, don't worry. Demetrius is safe."

Sharon frowned in disgust but remained silent.

The elevator soon arrived, and as they stepped out, a small figure rushed into Sharon's arms.

The impact nearly knocked her over, but Leo caught her waist, steadying her.

"Are you okay?"

"Don't touch me!"

Sharon slapped his hand away and looked down to see Demetrius. Her eyes filled with disbelief as she knelt down.

"Demetrius!"

Seeing his mother, Demetrius's lip quivered, and he clung to her neck, crying.

"Mommy, why did it take you so long? I was so scared being locked up for so long."
