Chapter 173 It's Only Natural That She Resents Me
Sharon didn't have time to react and slammed her lower back against the sink, wincing in pain.
Victor quickly caught the staggering Grace, looking worried. "Grace, you okay?"
Grace, with a bruise on her forehead, weakly smiled. "I'm fine, Victor. Ms. Wright didn't mean it. I just got back, and Seb broke up with her. It's normal for her to be upset."
Victor glared at Sharon. "Grace and Seb were together before, and now they're back. Being upset won't change that. If you touch Grace again, you'll regret it!"
Sharon, already annoyed from being framed and pushed, sneered at Victor. "Mr. Edwards, Grace and Seb are a couple. Seb hasn't said anything, but you're here warning me. Anyone would think you're her boyfriend!"
Victor's face darkened. "Since you were with Seb, just apologize and we'll drop it. Otherwise, when Seb gets here, you won't like the outcome!"
A cold voice interrupted. "Apologize for what?"
Seb had arrived. Victor, still angry, said, "Seb, you're just in time. Ms. Wright pushed Grace. If I hadn't been there, who knows what would've happened."
Victor pushed Grace towards Seb, who noticed the swelling on her forehead, his eyes darkening.
Grace, teary-eyed, clung to Seb, pleading, "Seb, Ms. Wright didn't mean it. I did take you from her. I owe her."
Seb pulled his hand away and looked at Sharon. "Did you push her?"
Sharon, indifferent, replied, "What do you think, Mr. Smith?"
Victor, angrier, snapped, "Sharon, Grace is pleading for you. Don't push it, or an apology won't be enough!"
Seb smirked at Victor. "So, how do you want to resolve it?"
Victor, startled by Seb's cold gaze, remembered how Seb didn't defend Grace when Rebecca scolded her. He had a bad feeling.
Suppressing his thoughts, Victor said, "Seb, you saw Grace's injury. I'm just asking for an apology. Is that too much? Are you really going to protect Sharon over Grace?"
Grace, panicking, looked at Victor with tearful eyes. "Victor, stop. Let's just frop it. Ms. Wright pushed me, so now we're even. I don't owe her anymore."
Grace reached to pull Seb away, but before she could, Seb walked straight to Sharon.
Grace was stunned, and by the time she reacted, it was too late.
Seeing Seb approach, Sharon instinctively stepped back, wary.
'Is Seb going to hit me for Grace?' she wondered.
When they were just a few steps apart, Seb raised his hand. Sharon braced herself. "Seb, if you dare hit me, I..."
Before she could finish, Seb pulled her close. "Are you hurt?"
Sharon, surprised, coldly replied, "No, let go of me!"
Just as she tried to push him away, Seb gently pressed on her lower back where she had hit earlier.
Sharon gasped in pain and glared at him. "What are you doing? Let go!"
Ignoring her, Seb picked her up.
Sharon, scared, quickly wrapped her arms around his neck, her face pale. Furious, she snapped, "Seb, what are you doing? We've broken up. Let go of me!"
Seb, unfazed, carried her out.
Victor, shocked and angry, stepped forward to block Seb. "Seb, are you crazy? What about Grace?"
Seb coldly replied, "She's just my ex. What should I take her for?"
"Aren't you two back together?"
Seb's eyes were icy. "Ask her if we ever got back together."
He walked past the stunned Victor and left.
Victor turned to Grace, confused. "Grace, what's going on between you and Seb?"
Meanwhile, Sophie, sipping soup, saw Seb carrying Sharon out. She almost choked.
Sophie, wide-eyed, quickly swallowed and chased after them. But by the time she reached the door, Seb had already driven off.
She dialed Sharon's phone, but got no answer, her worry growing.
In the car, Sharon, now calm, looked at Seb. "Where are you taking me?"
"The hospital."
Seb's face was cold, his jaw clenched, eyes focused ahead.
Sharon frowned. "I'm fine. I'll be better in a few days. Besides, we've broken up. I have nothing to do with you."
The temperature in the car seemed to drop.
Seeing Seb's lack of response, Sharon grew impatient. "Did you hear what I said?"
Since Seb chose Grace, he shouldn't give her any hope. She wanted her life back to normal, without Seb.
At a red light, Seb finally turned to her. "Go to the hospital for a check-up. If you're fine, I'll take you back. I won't bother you."
Sharon felt exasperated. "Don't you realize you're making things harder for me?"
"Go to the hospital, or I'll call a doctor to your house. Your choice."
