Chapter 610 Apologizing in Person

Seeing Sharon's gloomy face, Seb chuckled, "Alright, enough teasing. Time to get up."

After getting ready, they headed downstairs to the dining room, surprised to find Demetrius already at the table, eating breakfast.

Sharon sat next to him. "Demetrius, it's Saturday. Why are you up so early?"

Demetrius took a sip of milk and replied, "Mom, I have a classmate's birthday party today. I need to buy a gift, so I had to get up early."

"Which classmate? You didn't mention this before."

"The one who sits in front of me, Vivienne Mae. Her butler came to our class yesterday and gave everyone an invitation to her house today."

Sharon frowned. "Vivienne?"

She didn't know most of Demetrius's classmates.

"Yeah, some of my friends have been to her house before. They say it's huge and beautiful. I'm bringing my little camera to take pictures for you and Dad."

Sharon couldn't help but smile. "Alright."

Seb, sitting across from them, sent a message to Paul, asking him to look into who Vivienne was.

Though Demetrius was smart, he was still young and easily deceived. Seb didn't feel comfortable letting him go to a stranger's house alone.

Paul quickly responded.

[Mr. Smith, I found out that Vivienne Mae is the youngest daughter of the CEO of the Mae Group. According to the information, today is indeed her birthday.]

Feeling relieved, Seb looked at Demetrius. "What gift are you planning to get for your classmate?"

Demetrius shook his head. "I don't know yet. I'm meeting some friends at the store to decide."

"Alright, I'll have the driver take you."

"Thanks, Dad."

After breakfast, Demetrius left excitedly.

Watching his cheerful departure, Sharon smiled. "It seems like Demetrius is getting along well with his classmates."

Back in Aidamore, Demetrius mostly stayed home alone, never mentioning other kids, which broke her heart.

"Yes, you don't need to worry. He'll get along better with his friends over time."

Once Demetrius left, Sharon and Seb headed back inside.

Even though it was the weekend, Seb still had work to do.

Sharon joined him in the study, reading on the sofa while he worked. When she got tired, she napped.

The day passed quickly. By the time Dana called them for dinner, Demetrius had returned.

Unlike his morning excitement, Demetrius looked downcast.

Sharing a glance with Seb, Sharon knelt in front of Demetrius. "Why do you look so upset? Didn't you have fun at the party?"

Demetrius looked at her, then quickly looked away.

"I'm fine, Mom. Just tired. I'm going to rest."

He walked past her and headed upstairs.

Watching his small figure, Sharon felt a pang of heartache. She was about to call out to him when Seb signaled her to stop.

Once Demetrius was out of sight, Sharon turned to Seb. "Why didn't you let me say anything?"

"Demetrius clearly doesn't want to talk about it. Pressing him will only make him feel worse. I'll have Paul investigate what happened at the party. Let's eat first."

"I don't have an appetite."

Thinking about Demetrius's sad expression made her feel worse.

"Even if you're not hungry, you should eat something."

Sharon only managed a few bites before stopping.

Seb didn't push her to eat more, instead asking Dana to keep the food warm in case she got hungry later.

After dinner, Paul arrived with news.

"Mr. Smith, I got the surveillance footage from the Mae Villa party."

Seb nodded, having Paul send the footage to his phone.

The video was over half an hour long. It started normally but took a turn midway.

Several of Demetrius's classmates cornered him, forcing him to eat all the cake they had.

After watching, Sharon was shaking with anger. "Those kids are horrible! We can't let this slide!"

Seb gently rubbed her back. "Sharon, calm down. You're pregnant. Let me handle this."

Taking a deep breath, Sharon nodded. "Alright. I'll also talk to Demetrius's teacher on Monday."

"Good. Now go check on Demetrius."

Thinking about Demetrius's helpless expression, Sharon's heart ached again.

"Okay."

After she left, Seb's expression turned cold. "Find out who those kids' parents are."

"Yes, Mr. Smith."

Not long after, Seb received a call from Alton.

"How are Sharon and Demetrius? I'll be in Metropolis next month. Let's have dinner."

"They're good. How's everything in Stellaria?"

There was a brief silence before Alton spoke, his tone heavy. "Since Jeremy's death, support for Mary and Ewan has grown. Gareth is now accused of killing his father, and Aunt Carolyn is struggling."

Half of the Stoll family now supported Mary and Ewan, making Carolyn's position precarious. Without Alton's help, she might have been ousted from the Stoll Manor.

Seb raised an eyebrow. "So Carolyn won't be bothering Sharon and me anytime soon?"

"As long as I'm in Stellaria, she won't trouble you."

Seb paused. "Thank you."

"It's my duty. By the way, is Sharon asleep? She hasn't replied to my messages."

"She's with Demetrius. I'll have her get back to you."

"Alright. No rush. Just wanted to check on them. A photo would be nice too."

After the call, Seb went upstairs.

He was about to knock on Demetrius's door when Sharon opened it.

Seeing him, she gestured for silence.

"Demetrius just fell asleep. Be quiet so you don't wake him."

"Got it."

Back in their bedroom, Sharon asked, "Did you find out who those kids' parents are?"

Vivienne was the daughter of the Mae Group's CEO. The other kids at her party were likely from influential families too, given that Demetrius's school was an elite institution.

"Paul is still investigating. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything. Don't worry too much."

Sharon lowered her gaze. "Okay."

Seeing her sadness, Seb pulled her into his arms. "Sharon, don't be too upset. We caught this early and can handle it. We'll get a counselor for Demetrius to ensure he doesn't have lasting trauma. Don't blame yourself."

Sharon leaned against him, her voice choked. "I've been neglecting Demetrius. I didn't notice anything was wrong. From the way those kids bullied him, this wasn't the first time."

She couldn't bear to think what might have happened if they hadn't noticed Demetrius's distress today.

Hearing the tremor in her voice, Seb comforted her. "There won't be any severe consequences. I'll handle this. It's not your fault."

"Sharon, we're new at this parenting thing. We can't foresee everything. Sometimes we can only address issues as they arise. So don't blame yourself."

"Okay, I understand."

Seeing her calm down, Seb released her. "Go get ready for bed. I have some more work to finish."

"Alright."

Back in the study, Paul called.

"Mr. Smith, I've identified the parents of the kids who bullied Demetrius. I'm sending the information to your email."

"Got it."

After hanging up, Seb opened his email and reviewed the details.

The parents of those kids all had business ties with Silvercrest Group. Seb smirked.

The next morning, as Seb and Sharon came downstairs, Dana informed them that several guests had been waiting to see Seb for over an hour.

Seb's expression remained indifferent. "Tell them I'm busy today and won't be seeing anyone."

"Yes, Mr. Smith."

A while later, Dana returned.

"Mr. Smith, I relayed your message, but they refuse to leave. They said they'll wait until you're available."

"Fine. Let them wait."

Sharon guessed the visitors were the parents of the kids who bullied Demetrius. She quietly ate her breakfast, pretending not to hear.

It wasn't until almost noon that Seb agreed to see the visitors.

Soon, seven or eight adults, each with a child, entered the living room.

Sharon was playing with Demetrius, while Seb sat on the sofa, smiling at them, completely ignoring the newcomers.

One of the men, who had met Seb a few times before, spoke first. "Mr. Smith, I brought my son to apologize to Mr. Roach. Whatever punishment he deserves, we'll accept."

As he finished, the other parents quickly echoed his sentiments.
