Chapter 572 He Doesn't Want to See You, Get Lost!
The makeup artist and stylist glanced at the dress, their eyes widening in disbelief.
"Is that the dress designed by Bell Burton?"
This dress had been the talk of the fashion world. Many had wanted to see it in person, but it had disappeared three months ago after being bought by a mysterious bidder.
They never expected to see it here today.
Sharon nodded. "Yep."
The makeup artist and stylist's eyes lit up. The makeup artist looked at her with anticipation. "Ms. Roach, can I take a closer look at the dress? I promise I won't touch it."
The stylist quickly added, "I want to see it too, Ms. Roach. Can I?"
Sharon looked surprised. "But didn't you say we were running out of time?"
"Just give me a minute. I promise I'll do my best to get your makeup done before the party starts."
"Me too!"
Seeing their eager faces, Sharon nodded. "Alright."
With Sharon's permission, they immediately went to the bed and examined the dress's details and craftsmanship, their eyes filled with envy.
After a minute, they reluctantly stepped back and returned to the vanity to start working.
Over two hours later, just as Sharon was starting to feel drowsy, the makeup artist finally said, "Ms. Roach, it's done. What do you think?"
Sharon looked in the mirror. She had a fresh, dewy complexion, her skin looking flawless. The peach blush made her look several years younger, like an eighteen-year-old college student.
Seeing Sharon's silence, the makeup artist thought she was dissatisfied and explained, "Ms. Roach, your skin is great, and your features are beautiful. A lighter makeup suits you better. But if you don't like it, I can change it."
Sharon shook her head. "No, it's fine. I like it."
The stylist had curled her hair into soft waves that cascaded naturally down her back, giving her an elegant and sophisticated look.
Sharon smiled slightly. "Thank you. I like both the makeup and the hairstyle."
The stylist sighed in relief. "By the way, Ms. Roach, Ms. Carolyn Roach asked me to give you this."
Sharon took the box and opened it to find a diamond tiara, a hint of sarcasm in her eyes.
"Got it."
"Ms. Roach, the lady instructed that you wear this tiara when you make your entrance tonight."
"Okay. I need to change now. Please leave."
Sensing her mood had shifted, they quickly packed up and left without another word.
They were renowned makeup artists and stylists, but everyone who lived in this mansion was someone they couldn't afford to offend.
After they left, Sharon walked to the bed, took out the dress, and stared at it for a moment before putting it on.
Just as she finished changing, there was a knock at the door.
A servant's voice came from outside. "Ms. Roach, the party is about to start. The lady asked me to bring you down."
"Alright." Sharon walked to the mirror, picked up the diamond tiara, placed it on her head, and headed for the door.
When she opened the door, the servant outside was momentarily stunned, taking a few seconds to recover.
"Ms. Sharon Roach, please follow me."
"Okay."
On the way to the living room, the servant couldn't help but steal glances at Sharon, her eyes filled with disbelief and surprise.
Was this really the same Sharon?
Although her face hadn't changed much, the makeover made her look like a movie star.
She was sure that Sharon's entrance would cause a sensation.
Even the known beautiful Daisy would be overshadowed.
Sharon seemed oblivious to the servant's gaze, quietly following behind.
After about ten minutes, they entered the living room.
As soon as they walked in, the servant noticed more and more eyes turning their way. To be precise, they were all looking at Sharon.
Sharon kept her gaze straight ahead, following the servant to Carolyn's side.
Seeing Sharon, Carolyn was momentarily stunned, a complex expression in her eyes.
Though she didn't want to admit it, Sharon was the one who resembled her the most among her three children.
Daisy and Gareth took after their father, Jeremy, with their deep-set features, only showing a hint of her looks in their eyes.
Suppressing her complicated feelings, she whispered a warning, "The guests tonight are important people. Don't cause any trouble, or I won't spare Seb and Demetrius."
Sharon's expression remained calm. "I understand."
Seeing her compliance, Carolyn felt relieved.
She smiled, tucking a strand of Sharon's hair behind her ear, and turned her to face the guests.
"Hello, everyone. Thank you for coming to my daughter's party. I left her when she was very young, and not having her grow up by my side has always been my regret. Perhaps God heard my prayers and brought her back to me. From now on, our family is finally complete."
"As compensation, I plan to make her the heir to the Stoll family. I hope you will all support her."
As Carolyn finished speaking, the room erupted in applause.
Sharon's expression remained indifferent, showing no sign of joy.
From tonight, she would become a target for many.
But Carolyn had better follow through on her promises and give her some real power in the Stoll family, or no one would believe her words.
After Carolyn's speech, she began introducing Sharon to various guests.
Some asked when Carolyn planned to hand over the Stoll family to Sharon. Carolyn smiled and said there was no rush. Sharon would first learn about the family's business before gradually taking over.
After over an hour of introductions, Carolyn finally let her go to rest.
Sharon was exhausted, her smile almost frozen. She nodded and turned to leave.
Finding a quiet corner, she was about to sit down when a cold voice interrupted her.
"Sharon, don't get too smug. I won't let you inherit the Stoll family!"
Sharon turned to see Daisy, her face expressionless.
"Fine. I'll wait for you to inherit it."
Daisy's face twisted with anger. "Mom doesn't love you! She'll never give you the Stoll family!"
Sharon nodded. "Sure, go ahead and shout louder. Let's see if Ms. Carolyn Roach will scold me or you."
"You!" Daisy's face turned red with anger. She knew very well that if she ruined tonight's party, Carolyn would never forgive her.
With that thought, Daisy's expression changed. "Just you wait!"
She stormed off, leaving Sharon with a cold glint in her eyes.
It was clear that Carolyn really spoiled this daughter. Otherwise, she wouldn't be so foolish to think she could threaten Sharon's position.
Sharon grabbed a drink and sat down, hoping for a moment of peace. But soon enough, men started approaching her.
Seeing their sycophantic behavior, Sharon remained aloof, dismissing them with a few curt words.
But as soon as one left, another came, like flies, making Sharon increasingly annoyed.
It seemed that no matter where she were, as long as there was something to gain, people would flock to her.
After fending off several men, Sharon decided to head to the garden.
Meanwhile, Carolyn found Bell Burton and led him to her study.
Once they were seated, Carolyn pulled a check from the drawer and handed it to him with a smile. "This should be enough for you to start a new studio."
Bell looked at the amount on the check, his eyes flickering. He smiled and looked at Carolyn. "Ms. Carolyn Roach, you're very generous. This is enough to start ten studios."
Carolyn smirked. "Just tell me who bought that dress, and the money is yours."
Bell placed the check on the table and looked at Carolyn. "I can tell you who it was, but can you guarantee this won't come back to me?"
Seeing the caution in Bell's eyes, Carolyn raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry. I won't let them know I found out from you."
Bell fell silent, hesitating as he weighed his options.
After a long pause, Bell finally looked up at Carolyn. "Alright, I'll tell you. It was Darcy Stewart."
Carolyn's eyes widened in shock. "Are you sure?"
"Ms. Carolyn Roach, if you don't believe me, I can send you a copy of the contract."
Carolyn waved her hand. "No need. I believe you. But you better not be lying to me, or you won't be able to handle the consequences."
Bell smiled. "Rest assured, I wouldn't dare lie to you."
He picked up the check. "If there's nothing else, I'll be going."
After Bell left, Carolyn immediately summoned Gareth.
"Mom, what do you need?"
"Investigate Darcy. The person who bought Sharon's dress three months ago was him."
Gareth's expression darkened. "Alright, I'll get on it."
"Good. Once you find out, keep it quiet. We'll deal with him slowly."
"Understood."
After Gareth left, Carolyn returned to the living room.
The party was still in full swing, lively and bustling.
As soon as she stepped into the room, Carolyn's gaze landed on Darcy, who was chatting with someone.
Darcy had been with Jeremy for many years, always supporting him. He was close to Jeremy's illegitimate son, hoping to make him the next head of the Stoll family, which made him and Carolyn bitter enemies.
If Darcy was behind Sharon's disappearance, he certainly had the means to cover her tracks.
But even the best plans had flaws.
That dress was the biggest flaw.
Darcy noticed Carolyn's gaze and turned to look at her. Seeing the coldness in her eyes, he smiled and walked over.
"Carolyn, why are you looking at me like that? Do you have a problem with me?"
Carolyn sneered. "Darcy, don't you have a problem with me?"
Darcy chuckled. "Carolyn, tonight is your daughter's party. I'm a guest here. Let's put aside our differences and enjoy the evening."
Carolyn was about to respond when Darcy's phone rang.
Seeing the number on the screen, Darcy's expression changed. He glanced at Carolyn and walked away to take the call, lowering his voice.
After the call, he didn't even look at Carolyn and hurriedly left.
Carolyn narrowed her eyes and immediately had a servant follow him.
Less than half an hour later, the servant reported back.
Darcy had gone straight to the hospital after leaving the mansion.
Given Darcy's grim expression when he left, Carolyn suspected Jeremy's condition had worsened. She instructed the butler to take care of the guests and rushed to the hospital without even changing her clothes.
As she arrived at the hospital entrance, she saw Darcy and Mary pushing Jeremy in a wheelchair. Carolyn quickly approached them.
"Where are you taking Jeremy?"
Seeing Carolyn, Mary's expression changed. She stepped in front of Jeremy.
"Carolyn, Jeremy doesn't want to see you. Get lost!"
Carolyn sneered and pushed her aside. "Who do you think you are? I'm Jeremy's legal wife. I won't let you hide him away again!"
Darcy frowned. "Carolyn, step aside. Jeremy's condition is serious. He needs to be transferred immediately."
"Fine. But from now on, I'll be in charge of his treatment. You and Mary are not allowed to interfere."
As she spoke, Darcy and Mary's faces turned grim.
Mary spoke first. "No! I won't let you take Jeremy away, you vicious woman!"
When Jeremy first fell ill, Carolyn had taken him in to care for him, but his condition had rapidly worsened under her care.
If Darcy hadn't intervened and taken Jeremy away, he might have died.
Because of this, Jeremy planned to leave the Stoll family to their son, not Gareth and Daisy.
"You have no say in this."
Carolyn didn't even glance at Mary, coldly staring at Darcy. "I'm taking Jeremy today."
Darcy's eyes narrowed, his tone icy. "Carolyn, you're not the only one who brought people."
