Chapter 599 Sharon is Pregnant

Alton paused, then looked at Carolyn. "Alright, I'll help you secure your spot as head of the Stoll family, but I'm not taking out your rivals for you."

He figured as long as Carolyn had competition, she wouldn't mess with Sharon and Seb.

Keeping the power balanced was the best way to protect Sharon and the others.

Carolyn's face twisted. "You don't trust me?"

Alton nodded. "Aunt Carolyn, I want to, but you need to earn it. When you were in Metropolis, you promised Sharon resources for the Silvercrest Group. But as soon as she got to Stellaria, you tried to bankrupt her company. Your word alone isn't enough."

"Alton, don't forget, I'm your aunt. We're family!"

"Sharon's my cousin, and she's family too. You need to meet my terms."

Alton stayed calm, not a hint of stress. Carolyn was desperate. If she didn't agree, she couldn't keep running the Stoll family.

Carolyn clenched the blanket, her face red with anger.

But anger wouldn't help. Alton was her only option now.

After a long pause, Carolyn gritted her teeth. "Fine, I agree. But before Sharon comes back, you need to get her to return the shares of Carter Tech Company."

Alton smirked. "Aunt Carolyn, she can return the shares, but you have to buy them at market price."

"Alton, don't push it! Those shares were a gift to Sharon. Why should I pay to get them back?"

"Aunt Carolyn, you said it—they were a gift. Now they're hers. Plus, you haven't been around for years. It's only fair to compensate her. And the money should come from the Stoll family, not you personally."

"What's the difference?"

The Stoll family was under Carolyn's control. What difference did it make where the money came from?

"Don't forget, you could be ousted anytime."

"Are you threatening me?"

Alton looked innocent. "Aunt Carolyn, just stating a fact."

Carolyn took a deep breath. "Fine, I'll buy the shares at market price."

"Good. Contact me when you're discharged."

Carolyn, not wanting any delays, said, "This afternoon at three, I'll come to your villa. Have the transfer agreement ready."

Surprised by her urgency, Alton nodded. "Alright, I understand."

"Alton, why are you helping Sharon so much?"

He looked at Carolyn. "Aunt Carolyn, you may have forgotten she's your daughter, but I haven't. She's my cousin, my family."

After Alton left, Carolyn lowered her head, lost in thought.

When she first arrived in Stellaria, she often cried at night thinking about Sharon. But after having Daisy and Gareth, she gradually forgot about Sharon. If it weren't for wanting to use Sharon, she might never have thought of her again.

Did she feel guilty? Not at all.

What she wanted was the Stoll family, and she had worked towards that goal for many years. She was willing to give up anything to achieve it.

Even Gareth and Daisy, whom she doted on, would be abandoned if they threatened her position.

Family had long taken a backseat to the Stoll family for her.

At three in the afternoon, Carolyn's car arrived at Alton's villa on time.

She walked into the living room, where Alton and Sharon were already waiting.

Without a word, Carolyn sat down, picked up the documents on the table, and after confirming there were no issues, signed her name. She took out a card from her bag and pushed it towards Sharon.

"The password is six zeros."

Alton handed the card to his assistant. "Check it."

Carolyn's expression changed. "Alton, what is this?"

Having the assistant check the card in front of her was like a slap in the face.

"Aunt Carolyn, it's better for both of us to be sure, to avoid any problems later."

Carolyn sneered. "Fine!"

She turned away, too angry to speak.

Alton stayed calm, waiting for the assistant to return.

Ten minutes later, the assistant came back. "Mr. Roach, everything checks out."

Alton took the card and handed it to Sharon. "Sharon, take this money. Consider it compensation for the harm Aunt Carolyn caused you."

Sharon shook her head. "No, I don't want any ties with her. From this moment on, I'll consider my mother dead since elementary school."

Carolyn's voice turned icy. "Sharon, what nonsense are you spouting? Are you cursing me to die?"

"Ms. Roach, in my heart, you're not my mother. So I mean no offense. If you feel offended, I apologize."

Though Sharon apologized, her face showed no remorse, making Carolyn even angrier.

"Fine, if you want to sever ties, take the money. From now on, I won't seek you out. I'll consider you no longer my daughter!"

"I don't need your money."

Sharon needed motherly love, which no amount of money could replace.

Sharon picked up her bag and left.

Carolyn looked at Alton. "Look at her! Even if I wanted to be good to her, I couldn't!"

"Aunt Carolyn, you owe her too much. But it's meaningless to talk about it now. Just don't disturb her peaceful life. This might be the best outcome for both of you."

For some reason, Carolyn's heart ached at his words.

She closed her eyes, stood up, and said, "Make sure she takes the money. After that, we're done."

With that, Carolyn quickly walked to the door.

Watching her leave, Alton sighed and went to find Sharon.

After much persuasion, seeing Sharon still refused the money, Alton went to Seb.

After explaining the situation, Seb said, "I agree with her. If she wants to sever ties, it should be complete. Taking the money would complicate things."

Alton shook his head. "You and Sharon are so stubborn. If it were me, I'd take the money as compensation for the mental anguish."

Seb smiled. "If Sharon took the money, she'd still think of Ms. Roach. Not taking it means she's truly ready to forget."

Seeing he couldn't convince either of them, Alton gave up.

"Fine, I'll keep the money. If you ever need it, let me know."

Seb nodded. "Alright."

Back in his room, Alton decided to deposit the money in the bank under Demetrius's name, to be given to him when he turned eighteen.

Meanwhile, Seb knocked on Sharon's door.

"Come in."

Seb entered, finding Sharon on the balcony, staring at the night sky.

Seeing him, she smiled. "You're here."

Seb sat beside her. "Sharon, are you upset?"

"No, just tired from everything that's happened. I want to go back home."

Seb held her hand. "We'll be home soon. Once we're back, we'll forget all this and be happy together."

Sharon looked at him. "That might not be possible."

Seb frowned. "Why not?"

"Because we'll soon be a family of four."

"What?" Seb's eyes widened in disbelief. "Sharon, are you joking? It's not April Fool's Day."

Sharon showed him a photo of a positive pregnancy test. "It's true. I think it happened just before I left for your office."

Seb was overwhelmed with joy. He stood and hugged her tightly.

"Sharon, I'm so happy. I thought we'd only have Demetrius. Thank you!"

Seeing Seb's teary eyes, Sharon hugged him back. "Seb, thank you for being in my life, saving me time and again. Meeting you is the luckiest thing that's ever happened to me."

"Me too."

Seb vowed to always cherish her.

In the following days, Alton was busy helping Carolyn but didn't forget to arrange Sharon and Seb's return.

The evening before their departure, Alton joined them for dinner.

Seb raised his glass to Alton. "Mr. Roach, we couldn't have done this without you. Thank you!"

Sharon also raised her juice in thanks.

Alton raised an eyebrow. "Sharon, we might never see each other again. Won't you have a drink?"

Seb spoke up. "She's pregnant, so no alcohol."

Alton's eyes lit up. "Really?"

He was thrilled at the thought of another niece or nephew.
