Chapter 145 Voluntarily Leaving Seb

Tyler's eyes showed a bit of pity. "You really think you can still marry into the Smith family?"

Seb was standing up for Sharon now, but that was just because he was still interested in her.

Soon enough, Seb would see the difference between marrying someone useless and someone supportive.

Tyler thought, 'Will Seb still choose Sharon then? If she's smart, she'd leave him now.'

"Mr. Smith, lots of people might want to marry into your family, but not me. I married Alex for who he is, not for the Smith name. I'm with Seb because he's Seb."

Tyler snorted. "Can you swear you're with him just for himself, no strings attached?"

Sharon's hand tightened. Just as she was about to speak, Seb's cold voice cut in, "Dad, that's enough. Stop pushing her!"

Tyler glared at Seb, furious. "Shut up! Break up with her today, or we're done!"

The room went silent.

Seeing Tyler's angry face, Seb paused. He stood up slowly and said, "Dad, if you can't accept her, I won't force it. If you want to cut ties, so be it. I'm not breaking up with her."

"What?"

Tyler looked at Seb in disbelief, eyes full of disappointment. "You're giving up your family for her?"

"Dad, I've said it before. Who I'm with is my choice, and no one can interfere."

Seb's expression was calm but firm.

He didn't want to take over the Smith group; he wanted to control his own life.

Even though Tyler and Sandra are his parents, they have no right to meddle in his life.

Seb wasn't living for anyone else.

"Fine, fine, fine!"

Tyler said "fine" three times, his gaze growing colder.

"If you insist on this, then get out now!"

Tyler turned his back on Seb, clearly disappointed.

Seb stared at Tyler's back for a moment, then took Sharon's hand and left.

Alex's eyes flashed with anger and resentment.

Alex mused, 'I have knelt at the Smith Mansion's gate for three days and nights to marry Sharon, but Tyler only gives Seb a beating. Tyler is clearly biased!'

Seeing Tyler's trembling body, Alex's eyes darkened. He helped Tyler sit down and said, "Grandpa, don't be too upset. Uncle Seb is just confused. I'll talk to him!"

Tyler closed his eyes and waved his hand. "No need. If he really wants to be with her, let's see if they last a lifetime!"

Alex quickly said, "They won't. Uncle Seb will realize Sharon isn't worth it."

Thinking of Sharon's recent schemes, Alex's eyes flashed with disgust.

He used to think Sharon was gentle and understanding.

Tyler lifted his eyelids and sneered. "Aren't you the same? You just divorced and married a woman with no power or influence. What right do you have to criticize him?"

Alex gritted his teeth, feeling a surge of anger. He knew Tyler was clearly biased towards Seb. But unlike Seb, he didn't have a company and couldn't defy Tyler.

Alex quickly lowered his head, looking guilty. "Grandpa, you're right. I was impulsive at the time. Besides, Ava is at least carrying my child."

"Enough, I don't want to worry about your marriage. You can leave."

Seeing the annoyance on Tyler's face, Alex took a deep breath and forced a smile. "Okay."

Seb only let go of Sharon's hand after they walked out of the Smith family.

"Knowing you'd be given a hard time here, why did you still come?"

The slight anger in his tone made Sharon unconsciously bite her lip. She looked up at Seb, her eyes full of pain. "I didn't want Tyler to keep hitting you because of me."

Sharon thought, 'Tyler is Seb's father, and Seb would never fight back.'

Originally, Sharon only planned to take advantage of Seb and didn't intend to come. But when she saw the photo Alex sent her, her heart tightened painfully. At that moment, she knew she really liked Seb and couldn't just stand by and watch him get hurt.

Seb was silent for a moment before saying in a deep voice, "Forget it, but don't be so impulsive in the future." Today he was there to protect her, but if he wasn't, Sharon might get bullied.

"That depends on the situation." If Seb got hurt, she definitely couldn't remain indifferent.

Seb frowned and was about to speak when Sharon interrupted, "Alright, stop lecturing. Your back is seriously injured. Let me take you to get it treated."

She reached out to pull Seb towards the car. Sharon's warmth seemed to melt Seb's cold heart.

Just as they reached the car, Alex's mocking voice came from behind. "Sharon, are you satisfied now that you've caused Uncle Seb to sever ties with Grandpa?"

Sharon frowned, feeling a surge of disgust. Alex was like a cockroach, hard to kill or get rid of, always disgusting.

She turned to him. "I'll be satisfied when you're kicked out of the Smith family and living miserably."

Alex's face stiffened, then he sneered. "Unfortunately, that day will never come."

"Don't be so sure. After all, you've already been kicked out of the Smith group. I don't think Ava can get a patent to get you back in, am I right?"

Sharon looked coldly at Alex, not noticing Seb's eyes narrowing dangerously as she spoke.

Alex's eyes flashed with panic. Afraid Sharon would expose the patent in front of Seb, he gritted his teeth and said, "We'll see!"

With that, Alex quickly turned and walked away.

Watching Alex's somewhat hasty retreat, Sharon indifferently looked away. Turning, she found Seb staring at her. She was taken aback. "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Nothing."

With a cold tone, Seb opened the car door and got in. Through the car window, Sharon saw Seb inside, not even glancing at her, and felt puzzled.

Sharon wondered, 'Is Seb angry? Why?'

Sitting in the driver's seat, Sharon hesitated for a moment before deciding to ask. "Are you angry?"
