Chapter 146 Seb, Don't Go Too Far!

"No."

Sharon raised an eyebrow. Seb's tone was harsh, yet he claimed he wasn't angry?

"Why are you mad? Because I talked to Alex?"

Seb's eyes darkened. "I'm not that petty."

"Then what's the issue?"

Sharon couldn't think of anything she did to upset Seb, aside from chatting with Alex. They were divorced, and she talked to Alex right in front of Seb. What was there to be mad about?

After a few seconds, Seb said quietly, "The heart disease medication patent Alex presented back then—did you give it to him?"

Sharon was momentarily stunned, then nodded. "Yes, he had just started at the Smith group, and the shareholders didn't respect him. Plus, we were married. If he succeeded, it would benefit me too, so I gave it to him."

Seb's lips curled into a sarcastic smile. "You were really good to him."

Alex had used that patent to snatch several major deals from Silvercrest Group and even ambushed them once. If Alex hadn't been his nephew and the Smith group wasn't family business, Seb wouldn't have let him off so easily.

Seb hadn't expected that the heart disease medication was actually developed by Sharon!

Seb knew he shouldn't let past events sour their current relationship, but just thinking about how Sharon had once loved Alex so unreservedly made him uncomfortable.

Sharon couldn't help but laugh. "Mr. Smith, are you jealous?"

"No."

"Really?"

"Of course. I'm not that childish!"

Sharon stifled a laugh and nodded. "Yes, you're not childish. I'm the childish one. Since you're not jealous, let's just drop it."

As she finished speaking, the temperature in the car seemed to drop sharply. Seb's profile tightened, and he exuded an aura that warned others to stay away. Sharon pretended not to notice and started the car to leave.

After taking Seb to the hospital to treat his back wound, Sharon wanted to take him back to the villa, but Seb asked her to go to the company.

Sharon parked by the roadside and looked at him displeased. "You're injured. Are you sure you can still work?"

"I have a very important international meeting this afternoon. I must attend."

"Can't you attend from home?"

"No."

After a moment of stalemate, Sharon started the car. Although she was a bit angry that Seb didn't take care of his health, she also understood that Seb was the president of Silvercrest Group, managing the entire corporation. His schedule was already set and couldn't be easily changed.

They drove in silence to the company. As Seb was about to get out of the car, Sharon suddenly called him.

"I did give my research patent to Alex back then, but we were deeply in love at the time. I never thought we would separate. The past can't be changed, but I can assure you that I don't love him anymore. The person in my heart now is you."

Sharon looked at Seb seriously, her eyes reflecting his face, as if he was the only one she could see at that moment.

Seb hadn't expected Sharon to explain. His heart felt like it had been hit by something, turning soft and mushy, and any lingering unhappiness instantly vanished.

Seb thought, 'It isn't Sharon's fault she fell for the wrong guy; it is Alex's. Moreover, if Alex hadn't made mistakes, I wouldn't have had the chance to be with Sharon.'

Seeing Seb looking at her with a calm expression and no reaction, Sharon couldn't help but frown.

"Don't you believe me?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Seb suddenly leaned in.

Sharon instinctively backed away, almost hitting the glass, but a large hand steadied her head. The next second, she felt a soft touch on her forehead, like a feather gently brushing, tugging at her heartstrings.

Seb kissed her forehead lightly, then pulled back, looking at her with a hint of guilt. "Sharon, I'm sorry. Thinking about how much you did for Alex made me uncomfortable, but it's not fair to you."

When he decided to be with Sharon, he should have accepted her past instead of being angry.

Sharon was stunned for a moment, then hugged his waist, leaning against his chest. "Okay."

Sharon in his arms was soft, and her pleasant fragrance made Seb's eyes darken. "Sharon, if you keep hugging me, I can't guarantee what will happen next."

Seb's voice was filled with suppressed desire, making Sharon's heart race. She quickly pushed him away, her eyes a mix of annoyance and shyness. "It's just a hug."

Seb awkwardly touched his nose. "I still have a meeting. Let's go."

He quickly opened the car door and got out. Sharon patted her warm cheeks, got out, and walked with Seb to the elevator.

Seb wanted to take her to the lab, but Sharon refused. "You taking me to the lab this morning already caused a stir. I don't want to go through that again. Besides, you're injured. You should sit and rest."

"Alright."

Seb looked at Sharon with tenderness and a smile. Sharon's face started to heat up again. "Don't look at me like that!"

Her tone was playful, not threatening. Seb chuckled. "Why not? You're my girlfriend. Can't I look at my girlfriend?"

"Who stares like that?"

"But you're beautiful. I can't get enough of looking at you."

Sharon's eyes widened slightly. 'Is this the same Seb, the ruthless businessman? How could he say that with a straight face?'

Sharon didn't know her surprised look was incredibly alluring to Seb. But there were cameras in the elevator, so Seb couldn't do anything. He leaned close to her ear. "If you keep looking at me like that, I'm going to kiss you."

Seb's soft voice and breath brushed past Sharon's ear. She quickly stepped back, distancing herself from Seb, and looked at him warily.

"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. Come here."

Sharon didn't move. "Why?"

She had a feeling Seb calling her over wasn't a good thing. Seb sighed. "You're too far away."

Although he wanted to do many things to Sharon, he decided to take it slow. He didn't want to scare her.

"This distance is just right, and I'm almost at my..."

Before Sharon could finish, Seb pulled her into his arms. She instinctively tried to break free, but Seb's hand on her waist tightened, giving her no chance to escape.

Thinking about the scene being captured by the cameras and the elevator stopping at any moment, Sharon felt both embarrassed and nervous. "Seb, don't go too far!"
