Chapter 337 He's Still Young, He Can't Be Ruined
Randy shot David a frosty look. "Even if Grandpa wakes up, you think he'd wanna see you?"
David fired back, "That's none of your business!"
Randy just sneered and walked away.
David and Clara camped out by the hospital room door, not budging an inch, even getting their meals delivered there.
Several hours after being admitted to the ward, Tyler finally regained consciousness.
David and Clara rushed to his side. "Dad, you're awake!" David blurted out.
Seeing them, Tyler almost passed out from anger again. "Get out! Both of you, get out!" he croaked.
"Dad, the doctor said you need to rest and not get worked up. We messed up earlier. I swear, we won't upset you again," David said, trying to calm him down.
Realizing he couldn't get rid of David, Tyler just shut his eyes, pretending not to hear.
A cold glint flashed in David's eyes, but he kept his face concerned. "Dad, you rest up. Clara and I will stay right here. If you need anything, just call us."
Just then, Randy's icy voice cut in. "Uncle David, can't you see Grandpa's face is already pale? I bet if you leave, he'll get better."
David's face twisted with anger, and he snapped at Randy. "What does this have to do with you? Who are you to lecture me?"
Randy smirked and said slowly, "I'm not lecturing you, just giving you a heads-up. Uncle Seb is planning to send Alex to the police. You might not see him again, so maybe you should go now to avoid regrets."
Clara's face contorted, and she lunged at Randy. "Shut up! How dare you curse my son? I'll rip your mouth apart!"
Before she could reach Randy, David yanked her back. "Let's go see what's happening first! Don't waste time here!"
With that, he dragged Clara away in a hurry.
Once the room quieted down, Randy walked over to the bed and sat down. "Grandpa, don't worry. I won't let them bother you again."
Tyler blinked, his eyes welling up. To his surprise, it was Randy, the one he'd always overlooked, who stayed by his side.
Tears streamed down his wrinkled face, and he stammered, "Randy, get Mr. Reynolds. I need to talk to him."
Randy sighed and said gently, "Grandpa, you need to focus on getting better. We can talk about other stuff later."
Tyler slowly shook his head. After waking up this time, he felt half his body was paralyzed and he was much weaker. He knew he didn't have much time left.
"Get Mr. Reynolds. I know my own body," Tyler insisted.
Since half of Tyler's body was paralyzed, his mouth was crooked when he spoke.
Randy felt a pang of sadness. After a moment, he nodded. "Alright, don't get worked up. I'll call Mr. Reynolds right away."
Within an hour, Tony Reynolds showed up. After a quick nod to Randy, Tony hurried into the room.
Meanwhile, David and Clara arrived at Seb's villa, only to be stopped at the door.
They tried to barge in but got shoved to the ground by the dozen bodyguards at the entrance.
"Leave now, or I'll call the cops," one of the bodyguards said firmly.
Seb had made it clear earlier: no entry for David and Clara.
David's face turned red with rage. "How dare you stop me? Do you know who I am? I'm Seb's brother!"
The bodyguard didn't flinch. "Sorry, Mr. Seb Smith said you can't come in. I just follow orders. If you want in, call him and obtain his consent."
"Fine! Just wait!" David stepped aside and dialed Seb's number, but no one picked up.
Clara, getting more anxious, kept asking if he got through, making David even more irritable. Finally, he threw his phone to the ground and yelled, "You call him yourself!"
Clara was taken aback by his outburst, then gritted her teeth. "David, are you even a man? You can't even protect your own son! What good are you?"
"Oh, and you're so useful? All you do is yell and scream like a banshee!" David shot back.
They started bickering right there at the villa entrance, looking like two maniacs.
Seb watched from the window, his eyes cold and detached.
As the argument heated up, David and Clara began airing each other's dirty laundry, even starting to scuffle in the street. The bodyguards couldn't take it anymore and stepped in to break them up.
"There's no point in making a scene here. Mr. Seb Smith has already sent Alex to the police station," one of the bodyguards said.
"What?" David and Clara said in unison, staring at the bodyguard in disbelief.
Seb had really gone that far!
Seeing their shock, the bodyguard added, "Mr. Seb Smith didn't make him disappear but sent him to the police station, which is already showing mercy. If you keep bothering Mr. Seb Smith, you might not be able to handle the consequences."
David and Clara got the message. If they kept pushing Seb, Alex might really vanish.
David clenched his teeth, seething with hatred, but he had to swallow it.
David and Clara hurried to the police station, just in time to encounter Sharon, who was there giving her statement.
David and Clara had lost their previous arrogance, knowing Sharon was their only hope. If she didn't press charges, Alex might avoid jail.
Clara hurried over, her eyes pleading. "Sharon, no, Ms. Roach, please, for the sake of me having been your mother-in-law and the fact that you and Alex were once married, let Alex go. I promise, he'll never bother you again. He just loves you too much!"
Sharon stopped and looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "Mrs. Clark, hasn't anyone ever told you that you're shameless?"
Sharon was somewhat impressed that Clara could say this after everything that had happened.
Clara harbored a deep resentment for Sharon, but she showed humility. "Ms. Roach, no matter what you say about me, I accept it, as long as you are willing to let Alex go. He is still young and can't be ruined."
