Chapter 583 Isn't This What You Wanted to See?

But that didn't mean Sharon couldn't do anything.

At least, she could familiarize herself with the overall structure of Carter Tech Company and find out what kind of chips they were currently developing.

Jenny nodded, "Alright, Ms. Roach."

With Jenny leading the way, Sharon took a tour around Carter Tech Company, getting to know which departments were on each floor.

By the time they returned to the office, more than an hour had passed.

Sharon went back to her office, while Jenny went to organize the information about Carter Tech Company.

The office Sharon was using now had previously belonged to Carolyn. The decor was all black, white, and gray, making it feel quite oppressive.

Sharon looked around and decided she would ask Jenny to change the style later.

Soon, Jenny knocked and entered the office. "Ms. Roach, here are the documents on Carter Tech Company. If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me."

Sharon took the files. "Thanks, Jenny."

"No problem. If there's nothing else, I'll get back to work."

"I'd like to change the decor of the office."

Jenny nodded, "Of course. What style do you prefer? I'll have the designer draft some options for you to review."

"I prefer something warmer."

"Got it. I'll contact the designer right away. The designs should be ready by tomorrow morning."

"Great."

After Jenny left, Sharon opened the files and started reading.

She had just begun when her phone rang.

Seeing it was Andrew, Sharon picked up.

"Hey, Andrew. What's up?"

"Ms. Roach, are you free tonight? I'd like to invite you to dinner."

Sharon lowered her gaze, "I'm free. Send me the restaurant address, and I'll head there after work."

"Alright, see you tonight."

After hanging up, Sharon resumed reading the files.

Within a minute, Andrew sent the restaurant address.

Sharon checked it out. The restaurant was a few miles from Carter Tech Company, so she could easily catch a cab after work.

In the evening, as soon as it was time to leave, Sharon grabbed her bag and coat, ready to go.

Stepping out of her office, she noticed all the secretaries were still at their desks, working, with no signs of leaving.

Feeling surprised, Sharon looked at Jenny, "Did I get the time wrong? Isn't it supposed to be 5:30?"

"Ms. Roach, it is. But we usually stay a bit longer to finish up."

"Was this a rule set by Mrs. Stoll?"

Jenny shook her head, "No, we do it voluntarily."

Sharon fell silent.

After a moment, she spoke, "Starting today, no one in the executive office is allowed to work overtime. If I catch anyone working late, there will be a pay cut."

Jenny frowned, "But if we don't work overtime, we won't finish our tasks."

"Then finish them tomorrow. If you can't complete your work during office hours, it means you're overloaded. Let the hr hire more secretaries to help."

After a brief silence, Jenny addressed the team, "Everyone, wrap up what you're doing. If it's not urgent, handle it tomorrow. Let's call it a day."

"I have to go. Jenny, you handle the rest."

"Yes, Ms. Roach."

As Sharon reached the ground floor to hail a cab, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom pulled up in front of her.

The driver got out, opened the door for her, "Ms. Roach, Mrs. Stoll has arranged for me to drive you to and from work every day."

Recognizing the driver from Carolyn's estate, Sharon pursed her lips, "I'm having dinner with Andrew tonight. Take me to the Twill Restaurant."

"Yes, Ms. Roach."

Soon, the car stopped in front of Twill Restaurant.

Before getting out, Sharon told the driver, "I'll be dining with Andrew for about two hours. You can grab dinner yourself."

"Yes, Ms. Roach."

After Sharon left, the driver immediately called Carolyn.

"Mrs. Stoll, Ms. Roach is having dinner with Andrew at Twill Restaurant. They should be there for about two hours."

"Got it. Keep an eye on them and report any updates."

"Yes, Mrs. Stoll."

Carolyn hung up, but another call came in.

Seeing it was Jenny, Carolyn's eyes darkened as she answered.

"What is it?"

"Mrs. Stoll, Ms. Roach saw us working overtime today and said we can't do it anymore. If we do, she'll cut our pay."

Carolyn leaned back in her chair, a cold smile on her lips. Sharon knew how to throw her weight around.

Did Sharon think she was in charge of the company?

But with so many eyes on Carter Tech Company, if she intervened now, it would ruin her plans.

Thinking this, Carolyn spoke sternly, "She's the boss now. Do as she says."

"Yes, Mrs. Stoll. Ms. Roach also mentioned she wants to change the office decor. I haven't had a chance to tell you."

Carolyn frowned, "Don't bother me with such trivial matters. Just follow her instructions."

After hanging up, Carolyn thought about giving Sharon a stern warning when she returned, to prevent any future trouble.

As she pondered, there was a knock on the study door.

"Come in."

The butler entered, "Mrs. Stoll, dinner is ready."

"Alright."

Carolyn left the study and headed to the dining room, noticing it was empty. She asked, "Where are Gareth and Daisy?"

The butler lowered his head. "Mrs. Stoll, Gareth said he's not feeling well and will eat in his room. Daisy locked herself in her room and refused to come out for dinner."

Carolyn's face fell. She knew Daisy was still upset about the clothes she bought for Sharon earlier.

"If she doesn't want to eat, let her starve. One missed meal wouldn't kill her."

She had spoiled Gareth and Daisy too much. One caused major trouble, and the other threw tantrums over trivial matters like clothes.

In her room, Daisy was waiting for the butler to call her down for dinner.

But as time passed and no one came, Daisy grew anxious. Her stomach growled, and she finally went downstairs.

In the dining room, she found the table empty and the kitchen spotless. Daisy frowned.

"Ms. Stoll."

Hearing the butler's voice, Daisy turned, suppressing her anger, "Why didn't you save me any food?"

The butler, used to her temper, replied, "Mrs. Stoll ordered the leftovers to be thrown out when she heard you weren't eating. If you're hungry, you can have some cookies. Breakfast will be ready in the morning."

"Morning?"

Seeing Daisy's disbelief, the butler nodded, "Yes, morning."

Daisy let out a cold laugh, "Fine, I get it."

Since Sharon arrived, Daisy hadn't had a single peaceful day.

She needed to find a way to get Sharon out of the estate.

Meanwhile, Sharon was chatting with Seb when she suddenly sneezed.

"Are you okay? Did you catch a cold? You didn't wear enough today."

Sharon gave him a sideways glance, "Weren't you the one who couldn't take your eyes off me earlier?"

"You look beautiful in that dress, but it's too light. You'll catch a cold. Wear more tomorrow."

Sharon nodded, "Got it. By the way, Carolyn has me working at Carter Tech Company. She hasn't let me near the core chip development, but she's not overseeing much else."

Seb lowered his gaze, thinking for a moment, "Just follow her instructions for now. Don't worry, Sharon. I'll make sure you come back with me."

"Alright. If you need my help, just let me know."

"I will."

After spending some more time together, Seb let Sharon go.

Watching her leave, Seb's hand clenched at his side.

He wouldn't let Sharon stay with Carolyn for long.

Sharon returned to the estate around 8 PM.

As soon as she entered the hall, the butler told her that Carolyn wanted to see her in the study.

Frowning, Sharon reluctantly went to the study.

"Mrs. Stoll, what do you need?"

"I heard you were quite the boss at Carter Tech Company today, changing the office decor and banning overtime. Feeling powerful, are we?"

Detecting the sarcasm in Carolyn's tone, Sharon smiled, "If I am, it's thanks to you for transferring all the shares to me. Otherwise, I wouldn't dare. Isn't this what you wanted?"

Carolyn snorted, not denying it.

"I warn you, do anything to harm the company, and you'll regret it."

"Understood. I've had a long day at work and dinner with Andrew. If there's nothing else, I'll head to my room."

Sharon didn't want to waste any of her precious rest time on Carolyn.

"You and Andrew seem to be getting along well. Set a date for the wedding soon."

Sharon's lips curled into a cold smile. "You can't wait to sell me off, can you?"

"Since you know, you'd better behave."

"Got it. I'm visiting my dad tomorrow afternoon, so I won't be going to the office."

Carolyn's face fell."Do you think the company is a market where you can come and go as you please?"
