Chapter 400 I'm Happy That You Care About Me

Sharon glanced up at Seb and leaned in to whisper something. Seb frowned at first, but then his face relaxed.

He turned to Garry and said, "If I remember right, the Bridges Group's villa project wraps up this month. Trading a villa for your reputation seems fair, don't you think?"

Garry let out a sigh of relief. Looked like Seb was gonna let the Bridges family off easy.

"Absolutely. I'll have someone send the villa plans to Mr. Smith later. You can each pick one," Garry replied.

Seb smirked, "Then I'll graciously accept."

Sharon kept giving Seb these meaningful looks, but Seb acted like he didn't notice.

"It's the least I can do. I should thank Mr. Smith for being lenient with Ayla," Garry said.

"Since it's all settled, Sharon and I will head out," Seb said.

"Mr. Smith, let me see you out."

After seeing Seb and Sharon off, Garry's smile disappeared. He shot a cold look at Ayla and walked into the Bridges Villa.

Ayla and the others quickly followed. As soon as they got into the living room, Ayla instinctively walked up to Garry.

"Grandpa, I'm sorry. I know I messed up. I brought shame to the Bridges family."

Garry slapped her to the ground and angrily said, "You knew it was wrong, yet you still did it. Have you forgotten all the lessons I've taught you over the years?"

Leo changed his expression, and he quickly stepped forward to support Ayla.

"Grandpa, this is my fault. Ayla only lost her temper because she heard that Ms. Roach used to be my stepsister."

Garry sneered at him, his eyes cold, "You're clever, but don't forget, if it weren't for Ayla, you and your mother wouldn't have your current status."

A shadow flickered in Leo's downcast eyes, and he nodded heavily, "Don't worry, Grandpa. I haven't forgotten and will treat Ayla well for the rest of my life."

Ayla looked at him with eyes full of emotions. She knew she hadn't chosen the wrong person.

Garry waved his hand, "Alright, get up."

"Thank you, Grandpa." Leo helped Ayla up and stood aside.

Garry remained seated, and no one dared to leave. Garry's cold gaze fell on Damon, who was standing behind Camille, and he shouted angrily, "Damon, get over here!"

Damon trembled in fear, gritted his teeth, and stepped out from behind Camille. As Damon took two steps forward, Camille grabbed him.

She looked at Garry with dissatisfaction, "Dad, I want to know what he did wrong. Ayla is the one who did wrong, yet she hasn't been punished. Damon did nothing wrong, so why you ask him to come over?"

Garry shot a cold glance at his eldest son, Dino Bridges, "Dino, keep Camille in line."

Dino grabbed Camille and warned coldly, "Shut up! Otherwise, Dad will only get angrier, and Damon will suffer more!"

Camille's face turned pale, and she glared fiercely at Ayla, biting her lip and saying nothing more.

Damon knew there was no way out this time, so he walked straight to Garry with his back straight.

Garry looked at him coldly, "Do you know what you did wrong?"

"Grandpa, if you're referring to me revealing that Ayla had Briana push Sharon, I don't think I did anything wrong." Damon's expression was firm, and his eyes showed no guilt or fear, which surprised Garry.

"Then tell me, what did you do right? If you can't justify yourself, you won't need to go to the company anymore!" Garry continued.

Hearing these words, Camille and Dino changed their expressions.

Damon's expression remained calm, seemingly unfazed by Garry's threat. "Today, Ayla had Briana push Sharon, but Sharon wasn't hurt, so there's still room to maneuver. However, Ayla didn't achieve her goal and will likely try to harm Sharon again."

"If I hadn't exposed her today, and Ayla caused more serious consequences in the future, the Bridges family would be implicated!" Damon continued.

"Exposing her today only caused the Bridges family to lose face in front of Seb and Sharon and cost us two villas. Otherwise, we'll only suffer greater losses!" As Damon finished speaking, the living room fell silent.

Garry pondered for a few seconds and had to admit that Damon made sense.

"However...," He looked at Damon coldly, "Don't you have any ulterior motives?"

"Of course I do. I also want to learn how to manage the company," Damon answered.

As the Bridges family members saw his audacity, their expressions varied. Except for Camille and Dino, the others looked at him with disdain and scorn.

After all, Damon was known for his indulgent lifestyle. If he ever seriously went to work at the company, that would be a real surprise.

Garry didn't mock him. After a moment of silence, he said, "Report to the business department manager tomorrow. If you can close a deal on your own within three months, I'll let you officially join the company."

Damon's face lit up with joy, and he promised, "Grandpa, I will definitely complete the task!"

Next to him, Ayla's face turned pale, and she almost couldn't stand. She couldn't believe Garry was actually letting Damon into the company!

Leo quickly supported her and whispered in her ear, "Ayla, calm down."

His gentle and firm voice pulled Ayla out of her shock and panic, helping her regain her composure. She gently pushed Leo away, took a deep breath, and her face became calm.

When she first joined the company, she had also run around for three months, busy and disheveled, barely closing a deal. She didn't believe that Damon, a good-for-nothing, could succeed.

Thinking of this, Ayla felt her heart finally settle a bit.

Garry looked at Damon, "You better not disappoint me."

With that, Garry left, and the other members of the Bridges family also dispersed.

Ayla walked up to Damon and said coldly, "Damon, don't think that using such despicable means will make Grandpa hand over the company to you. I won't let someone like you ruin it!"

Damon replied, "The company isn't yours yet. It's not up to you to decide who Grandpa hands it over to!"

"You!"

"Instead of wasting time arguing with me, you should reflect on why you did such a foolish thing at Grandpa's birthday party!" Damon added.

Seeing Ayla's pale face, Damon sneered and turned to leave.

"Ayla, don't worry, I'll help you. Damon is an idiot; he won't be a match for you," Leo comforted.

Ayla turned around and met Leo's gentle eyes, feeling deeply touched. "Alright, Leo, thank you for always supporting me."

Leo held her hand, "We're a couple, a team. Who else would I help if not you?"

Ayla blushed slightly, "Okay."

"It's getting late, and you're tired tonight. Let's go upstairs. I'll help you with your bath tonight."

"You're so annoying!" She lightly hit Leo with her hand, her cheeks flushing.

Ayla and Leo turned and walked upstairs together, soon returning to their room.

While bathing, Ayla suddenly thought about how Damon knew what she and Leo had said in the garden.

"Leo, at that time, it was just you and me by the rockery. How did Damon get a recording of our conversation?"

Leo's eyelids drooped, and his hand tightened around her waist. He said softly, "It was so dark then; he probably happened to be hiding nearby, so we didn't notice."

Ayla still felt something was off, but the next second, Leo suddenly thrust his penis into her.

She moaned, her consciousness gradually fading, and she instinctively wrapped her arms around Leo's neck, enjoying the moment with him.

She couldn't tell if it was her imagination, but Leo seemed especially passionate tonight.

On the way back, Sharon ignored Seb the entire time. It wasn't until the car stopped at the villa entrance that Sharon was about to get out when Seb suddenly grabbed her wrist.

"Aubrey, you go inside first," Seb said.

Aubrey quickly opened the car door and walked into the villa, disappearing from their sight.

Sharon frowned at him, "Seb, what are you doing? Let go of me!"

Seb didn't listen; instead, he leaned closer to her, staring into her eyes, "Are you mad at me?"

Sharon turned her head away, annoyed, "No, just let go of me."

"You're lying," Seb argued.

Sharon took a deep breath and looked up at him, "Shouldn't I be angry? I told you to use the Bridges family's guilt to negotiate benefits for the company, but you only asked for a villa."

"I don't want the villa they gave me. I'll give it to you, so you'll have two," Seb said.

"Is that the point?"

"Of course it is." Seb looked at her, his eyes filled with tenderness, "Sharon, I don't need to use your grievances to gain benefits for the company. But I'm happy you thought of me."

The gentleness in his eyes spread like ripples, softening his cold demeanor.

Sharon was momentarily stunned, her face blushing, and she instinctively retorted, "I wasn't thinking of you. I just thought I almost got disfigured, so I wanted to get the most out of it."

But the Silvercrest Group was Seb's company, so getting benefits for it was thinking of him, wasn't it?

However, if it meant risking her safety for the company's benefit, Seb would rather not.

"Sharon, I'm sorry for tonight. I didn't protect you well. From now on, I won't let you out of my sight at any event."

Thinking about the moment he saw her falling towards the broken glasses, Seb still felt a pang of anxiety.

Seeing the guilt in his eyes, Sharon comforted him, "It's not your fault. I didn't expect Ayla to scheme against me the first time we met."

"She probably knew Leo used to like you, and you're prettier than her, so she was jealous and targeted you," Seb analyzed.

Hearing the jealousy in his tone, Sharon couldn't help but laugh. "Are you jealous?"

'Leo liking her was a thing of the past, was it worth his jealousy?' Seb thought. "No."

"Good, because I was planning to comfort you if you were."

Seb gave her a sidelong glance, "How would you comfort me?"

"You said you weren't jealous. If you're not jealous, why would you need comforting?"

A mischievous glint flashed in Sharon's eyes as she broke free from his grip and tried to get out of the car.

Seb wasn't about to let her go that easily. He pulled her back into his arms.
