Chapter 126 No One Forced Him to Kneel
"Don't need the Smith group to deal with you."
Alex's face darkened. "Sharon and I are married. Our issues are none of your business."
"Even if you're married, you can't force her to do something she doesn't want."
Alex and Sharon were about to get divorced anyway.
Alex glared at Seb, the tension between them making the air feel colder.
"Alex, leave me alone. I won't agree to what you said."
Seeing Sharon's cold expression, Alex felt a chill.
Alex thought, 'Sharon knew how important the Smith group is to me but still refuses to help.'
With Seb around, Alex knew he couldn't talk to Sharon properly.
"Sharon, I'll come back another day."
Sharon frowned. No matter how many times Alex came, she wouldn't agree.
Before she could say anything, Alex left.
"If he comes again, call security to kick him out."
Sharon nodded at Seb. "Got it, Uncle Seb. Thanks."
"I'll take you home."
Seb's cold eyes softened a bit.
Sharon felt uneasy, turned her head, and tucked her hair behind her ear.
"No need, I drove."
"Alright, drive safe."
After Sharon left, Seb called Paul.
"Get two people to protect Sharon secretly."
Alex's eyes had been full of anger. If Sharon kept refusing, he might hurt her.
Back at the hotel, Sharon turned on her phone and saw many messages from Sophie. More photos and details of Alex cheating with Ava were online, and Ava's account was exposed.
People were cursing Ava in the comments, and she quickly became a trending topic.
Sharon wasn't interested. She replied to Sophie and ordered takeout.
Meanwhile, as Alex approached the villa, he saw reporters at the entrance and frowned.
The reporters could be driven away, but many were probably hiding nearby.
Thinking this, Alex turned his car around and went to find Ava.
Seeing him, Ava's face lit up. "Alex, why are you here?"
Alex pushed her aside and walked into the living room, looking cold.
"Ava, did you have anything to do with this?"
Alex knew something was off about Ava's pregnancy being exposed. Only Sharon could help him, so after Joseph found evidence, he didn't let him continue investigating.
If Sharon did this, there might be room for negotiation.
Ava looked hurt, tears in her eyes. "Alex, why would I expose this? Didn't you see the reporters at my door? If you came later, they would've broken in."
Ava cried, but Alex was unmoved.
"Because of this, I got kicked out of the Smith group. If this is your doing, I'll make your life hell!"
Scared by Alex's cold stare, Ava trembled and shook her head. "It really has nothing to do with me."
Alex didn't believe her but stayed silent.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
"Mr. Smith, more photos and details of your affair with Ava have been exposed. Now all the online criticism is directed at you and Ava, and the Smith group just released a statement saying they have dismissed you."
The statement made it clear Alex was dismissed, not that he resigned, showing how angry Tyler was.
Alex's grip on his phone tightened. He took a deep breath. "I understand. Notify me if anything comes up at the company."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Alex thought for a moment, grabbed his coat, and left.
Ava called after him, but he ignored her.
Driving straight to the Smith Mansion, Alex got out of the car and knelt at the entrance without going in.
When Tyler and Sandra heard about it, they were walking in the garden.
Tyler snorted, "If he wants to kneel, let him. Maybe he'll finally realize how dumb he's been!"
Sandra looked distressed. "No matter what, it's already happened. Kicking him out of the Smith group was a bit too much."
"If we don't teach him a lesson this time, he'll keep making stupid mistakes. Leave him be."
Seeing Tyler was determined to punish Alex, Sandra sighed and said no more.
After all, this scandal not only caused losses to the Smith group but also brought shame to the Smith family. Other families in Metropolis were laughing at them behind their backs.
After dinner, Sharon was about to read some papers when her phone started buzzing non-stop.
Unlocking it, she saw Clara had sent her dozens of messages, each one questioning her.
[Alex has been kneeling at Smith's 4 hrs. Where the hell r u?]
[What kind of wife are you? U did this? So vicious!]
[You can't have kids, and now you have the nerve to expose this?]
[Get to Smith's and kneel with Alex or else!]]
Clara kept sending messages, but Sharon didn't read them all. She blocked Clara after reading a few, and the world instantly became quiet.
Soon, Clara switched to calling her, but Sharon hung up and blocked her too.
Even if Alex died at the Smith Mansion entrance, it had nothing to do with her. No one forced him to kneel.
Knowing Sharon had blocked her on Facebook and phone, Clara angrily threw her phone.
"That bitch should never have married Alex. She's a jinx, ruining Alex like this!"
David frowned and said coldly, "What's the point of saying this now? The most important thing is to get Alex back into the Smith group, or Randy will completely replace him soon."
"No, I'm going to the Smith Mansion now. I'll kneel with him. I don't believe Mom and Dad won't see us!"
With that, Clara got up to leave.
"Can you stop making things worse!"
Clara turned to David, her eyes full of dissatisfaction and anger. "Making things worse? You have no idea either. It's because you're useless as a father that Alex has to live under your dad's thumb!"
