Chapter 169 Don't Show Up in Front of Me and Disgust Me

Seb's eyes darkened. "Sharon, I know you don't believe me now, but in three months, I'll explain everything."

"No need, I'm not interested. I hope Mr. Smith won't bother me again."

With that, Sharon walked past Seb and left.

In the following days, Seb didn't visit Sharon, but rumors about him and Grace spread like wildfire at work.

At first, Ashley got angry, but seeing Sharon didn't care, she stopped mentioning it.

Sharon's life slowly returned to normal. Besides work, she spent time with real estate agents looking for a house since she couldn't stay in hotels forever.

After work on Friday, Sharon was about to leave when Leo stopped her.

"Sharon, are you house hunting?"

Sharon often checked listings during lunch and used apps on her phone, so it wasn't surprising Leo knew.

"Yes, why?"

"I'm looking too. How about we look together? If we live close by, we can help each other out."

Sharon frowned, about to refuse, but Leo continued, "I visited Robert last night. He and my mom don't want to go abroad. It's more convenient here with us. If they go abroad, everything would be unfamiliar and inconvenient."

"My mom's lease is almost up. I'm planning to rent a bigger place and have her move in with me. When Robert's health is good, he can stay with us for a while."

"But if you don't want to live too close, we can look separately. Don't worry about Robert; I can take care of him."

Sharon pressed her lips together. "Alright, let's look together."

Leo smiled. "Okay."

Leo knew if he hadn't mentioned Robert, Sharon wouldn't have agreed to look for a house with him.

For the next two days, they kept looking at houses. By Sunday afternoon, they finally settled on a high-end community near Silvercrest Group.

They rented apartments in the same building but on different floors.

After signing the lease, Leo suggested dinner, and they found a nearby restaurant.

Halfway through their meal, they ran into Alex, who had just finished a business meeting.

Seeing Sharon, a cold glint flashed in Alex's eyes. After sending off his client with a smile, he walked over to them.

"Sharon, I heard Uncle Seb dumped you?"

Annoyance flashed in Sharon's eyes, and she didn't respond, clearly not wanting to talk to him.

Alex's smile froze, and his hand clenched involuntarily. How dare Sharon ignore him when even Seb had discarded her!

He took a deep breath and looked at Sharon. "Sharon, I didn't expect you to still be so stubborn. Are you still mad at me?"

Sharon tried to ignore Alex, but having him around was really getting on her nerves.

She looked up at Alex. "Can you please get lost? You're ruining my appetite."

Alex's face darkened instantly. After a few seconds, he sneered. "Fine, I was just trying to comfort you, but you don't appreciate it."

Sharon smiled and said slowly, "The best thing you can do for me is stay out of my sight."

Alex was momentarily stunned by her smile. When he realized what she said, his face turned livid.

"You'll regret this!"

Alex stormed off, while Sharon stayed calm and kept eating.

Seeing no sadness on her face, Leo smiled and said, "Looks like you've really moved on."

Sharon replied calmly, "He's just a scumbag, not worth my time."

Leo nodded seriously. "Yeah, you'll find someone better."

Sharon didn't respond. She felt focusing on her career was more worthwhile than relationships.

After dinner, Leo dropped Sharon off at her hotel and headed home.

As soon as he walked in, he saw Karen sitting on the couch, looking angry. Surprised, he asked while changing his shoes, "Mom, aren't you going to the hospital tonight?"

"What happened during your blind date? I heard you brought a woman with you?"

"Yes."

"Who was she? Was it Sharon?"

The woman Leo was supposed to meet was the daughter of Karen's friend. Karen initially thought they just didn't hit it off, but today her friend called and sarcastically berated her.

After some questioning, Karen found out that Leo had brought another woman to the blind date, which infuriated her friend's daughter.

Karen had to apologize profusely to calm her friend down.

After hanging up, Karen thought about it and realized that since Leo had just come back, the only woman he could have brought was Sharon.

The thought of Sharon dragging Leo into her mess made Karen furious.

Karen thought, 'Sharon's own marriage is a disaster; does she want to ruin Leo's life too?'

Sensing the disapproval in Karen's tone, Leo frowned and replied coldly, "No, it was a colleague."

"You just started working. Who's that eager to help you trick people?"

Facing Karen's aggressive questioning, Leo's patience wore thin.

"Does it matter? I told you I wasn't interested in the blind date, but you insisted. Now that you've brought it up, let's settle this once and for all. Stop arranging blind dates for me."

Karen stood up angrily. "If you could find someone on your own, I wouldn't have to worry! You're almost thirty. If you don't get married soon, do you want to stay single forever?"

"Being single is better than being with someone I don't love. If you keep arranging blind dates, I won't go."

"You're trying to drive me to my grave!"

Leo ignored Karen and went straight to his room.

The next morning, Karen went directly to Silvercrest Group.

She didn't look for Leo but contacted Sharon instead.

In the coffee shop downstairs at Silvercrest Group, Karen and Sharon sat across from each other.

"Karen, what's up?"

Karen's expression was cold and her tone sarcastic. "Sharon, I shouldn't have to say this, but your behavior is messing with Leo, so I have to speak up."

Sharon was confused but knew Karen wasn't here to say anything good. Her face darkened.

"Karen, what did I do?"

Karen snorted, her expression certain. "You ruined the blind date I arranged for Leo, didn't you?"

Sharon frowned. "Did Leo tell you that?"
