Chapter 531 I Hope You Keep Your Word
Seb chuckled, "I told you, I'll sell it at market price."
Garry's face went pale.
"Seb, come on, don't mess with me. You know the Bridges Group doesn't have that kind of cash right now. Give me another option, something we can actually handle, and I'll agree."
For Garry, saying this was already pushing his limits.
If it weren't for not wanting to leave any loose ends for Damon, he wouldn't be here, humbling himself in front of Seb.
Seb looked at him, "Garry, I'm not joking. I'm a businessman. I do business to make money. If I don't make money, why would I spend fifty million dollars to buy shares from Ms. Bridges? For fun?"
"I already said, I'll buy the shares back from you for sixty million dollars. In just a few days, you'd make ten million dollars. Isn't that profit?" Garry replied.
"Garry, do you take me for a fool? Even if I don't sell the shares to you, selling them to anyone else would earn me ten times that amount. Why should I sell them to you?"
Garry's eyes widened in anger. "Seb, do you really want to make an enemy of the Bridges family?"
"Garry, if you were in my shoes and had 10% of Silvercrest Group's shares, would you sell them to me for sixty million dollars?"
Garry's face darkened. "That's different. Don't mix things up!"
"To me, it's the same. If you want my shares, come back with a real offer. Ten million dollars? Are you trying to insult me?"
Garry's face turned red with rage. He stood up abruptly, his body trembling, almost falling over.
He stomped his cane on the ground angrily. "Seb, don't be so arrogant, or you'll only harm yourself!"
Seb remained unfazed. "Garry, I have work to do. I won't see you out. Take care."
Garry's breathing became rapid. He felt that if he stayed any longer, Seb would drive him to a heart attack. He turned and stormed out.
After a while, Paul walked into the office with a cup of coffee. "Mr. Smith, where's Mr. Bridges?"
"He left."
"What about this coffee?"
"Just leave it on my desk."
Paul placed the coffee on the desk and left the office.
Meanwhile, Sharon was drawing with Demetrius when Dana approached her. "Ms. Roach, there's a woman in her forties at the door claiming to be your friend. She wants to see you."
Sharon frowned. "I'll go check."
She got up and headed to the door, noticing Dana intended to follow. She turned back. "You don't need to come with me. Just stay here and watch Demetrius draw."
"Okay."
At the door, Sharon saw Karen through the video doorbell. She pursed her lips and opened the door.
"Karen, what brings you here?"
Karen, looking as anxious as a cat on a hot tin roof, rushed forward as soon as the door opened.
"Sharon, I'm here to beg you to let Leo go. I know he's done a lot wrong, but he did it because he loves you too much... Could you write a letter of forgiveness for the court? If you forgive him, Leo will get a lighter sentence."
Sharon looked at her with a cold, emotionless gaze.
"Karen, Leo's current situation is his own doing. I won't write a letter of forgiveness."
Thinking about the hours Leo had kidnapped Demetrius, the despair and pain she felt, Sharon knew she would never forgive Leo or give him another chance to hurt her and Demetrius.
Karen's face froze in disbelief. "Sharon, are you really this heartless? Even though your father and I divorced, you and Leo were siblings for years. Can you really watch his life be ruined?"
Sharon took a deep breath, looking into her eyes. "His life is ruined because he chose the wrong path. It has nothing to do with me. Please leave and don't come back. I won't see you again."
With that, Sharon closed the door and walked back to the living room.
Karen stared at the closed door, her face turning pale and her eyes filled with despair.
Her phone rang from her bag.
As soon as she answered, an impatient voice came through. "Karen, where are you? Get to the Vital Records Office now and finalize the divorce!"
The call ended abruptly, not giving her a chance to speak.
Karen held the phone, her face filled with confusion.
Why... how did her and Leo's lives turn out like this?
At the Thomas Villa.
Daniel sneered when he heard Leo had been arrested. "Idiot!"
If Leo hadn't tried to outsmart everyone by taking Sharon and Demetrius abroad, he wouldn't be in jail now. He deserved it.
Now, with Leo in jail, Vertex Innovations Group would soon collapse, leaving Daniel without anyone to use.
He needed to find a way out for himself quickly.
Thinking of Jesse's methods, Daniel's expression darkened.
After much thought, Daniel finally made a decision.
He took a deep breath and asked the butler to prepare the car.
An hour later, he stepped into the CEO's office at Silvercrest Group.
"Mr. Smith, long time no see."
Seb looked at him coldly. "What do you want?"
Daniel smiled, unfazed by Seb's attitude, and sat down across from him.
"I'm here to propose a deal."
Seb put down his documents and leaned back in his chair, looking at him leisurely. "What deal?"
"I can tell you everything I know about Jesse, but you have to help me take him down."
He was tired of being ordered around by Jesse. Despite all he'd done for Jesse, Jesse still wouldn't let him go, forcing him to do things he didn't want to do.
If that was the case, he had no choice but to team up with Seb.
Seb's eyes darkened. "That depends on whether what you say is useful to me."
Over an hour later, Daniel walked out of Seb's office.
"Mr. Smith, I hope you keep your word."
"Don't worry. As long as you don't play any more tricks, I won't go after the Thomas Group. If Jesse targets the Thomas Group, I'll help you."
"Good. With your word, I'm relieved."
Leaving Silvercrest Group, Daniel returned to the Thomas Villa, feeling a weight lifted off his shoulders.
Now, he just needed to figure out how to win Sophie back.
As for Jesse's mess, it was no longer his concern.
In high spirits, he returned to the Thomas Villa. As soon as he stepped into the living room, he sensed something was wrong.
His face changed, and he turned to leave, but two men in black were already blocking the door.
The man standing by the window turned around slowly, smiling at Daniel. "Mr. Thomas, where have you been? I've been waiting for you."
