Chapter 574 If I Wanted to Deal with You, There Are Other Ways
Sharon had always thought highly of the butler.
The butler quickly waved his hand. "Just doing my job, Ms. Sharon Roach. Go on ahead."
Sharon didn't say anything more and turned to walk toward the estate's entrance.
Watching her slender figure disappear, the butler's eyes showed a hint of sadness.
They were all Carolyn's children. Gareth and Daisy could freely act spoiled around Carolyn, but Sharon was always disliked by her and forced to do things she hated. It was a bit heartbreaking to think about.
Over half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a private nursing home.
As soon as Sharon got out of the car, someone took her to Robert's hospital room. Pushing open the door and seeing Robert lying in bed, Sharon's grip on the door handle tightened involuntarily.
She had thought Carolyn was lying to her, but seeing Robert now, she couldn't deceive herself any longer.
To threaten her, Carolyn had really kidnapped Robert from their home country.
Hearing the door open, Robert opened his eyes and looked up. Seeing Sharon, his eyes widened, and he immediately sat up.
"Sharon, you're here."
Sharon's eyes were red as she slowly walked to the bedside, holding back tears. "Dad... I'm sorry."
If it weren't for her, Robert wouldn't have been kidnapped by Carolyn and brought to Stellaria. He could still be living freely in his own home instead of being confined to this small hospital room.
Seeing Sharon's guilt-ridden face, Robert spoke gently. "Sharon, I've never blamed you. I know your life must be harder than mine right now. Your mom has been good to me, letting me stay in a high-end room with a dozen people taking care of my daily needs and health. Honestly, it feels like a vacation here. Don't worry about me."
The more Robert spoke, the more upset Sharon felt.
She knew Robert was only saying this to comfort her.
Who would want to be taken to a foreign country and confined to a hospital room every day?
She wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, sat down by Robert's bed, and forced a smile.
"Dad, don't worry. I'll definitely bring you back home."
Robert nodded. "At my age, it doesn't matter where I am. I just can't stop worrying about you. How's your mom treating you?"
"She's been good to me. She even threw a party tonight to introduce me as her daughter and said she plans to hand over the family business to me."
"That's good. As long as she's good to you. Visit me when you can, but don't worry if you're busy. You must have a lot to learn and do. Just come see me when you have time."
"Yes, I'll visit you often."
After chatting for a while, Sharon noticed Robert was getting tired, though he tried to hide it. She quickly said, "Dad, it's getting late. I'll head back now and visit you another day."
"Okay."
Watching Sharon's retreating figure, Robert's eyes reddened.
He could tell Carolyn wasn't treating Sharon well.
If Carolyn were truly good to her, Sharon would have shared many details about it. Instead, she avoided talking about Carolyn and only mentioned her briefly.
The more Robert thought about it, the more heartbroken he felt.
He had become a pawn for Carolyn to threaten Sharon, unable to even die if he wanted to.
He threw off the blanket and glared at his legs, which were tied to the bed, filled with hatred. He wished he could cut the ropes and jump out the window.
Back at the estate, Sharon had regained her composure.
As soon as she entered the hall, the butler approached her, saying Carolyn wanted to see her in the study.
Sharon nodded. "Got it."
At the study door, Sharon didn't knock but pushed the door open and walked in.
Carolyn was on the phone. Hearing the door, she glanced at Sharon with some displeasure, quickly said a few words to the person on the other end, and hung up.
"What do you want?"
"When will you stop barging into rooms without knocking?"
They spoke simultaneously, their eyes filled with mutual disdain and coldness.
"You could lock the door, then I wouldn't just walk in."
Carolyn sneered. "If you don't change this habit, you can forget about seeing your dad again."
Sharon's eyes flashed with disgust. "Don't you find it disgusting to use my dad to threaten me?"
"You have no right to ask me that. I called you here for something important."
She handed Sharon a document. "Sign this."
Sharon took the document and saw it was a share transfer agreement for a well-known tech company in Stellaria. She was surprised.
The document stated that Carolyn was voluntarily transferring all her shares in the company to Sharon, free of charge.
Sharon looked at Carolyn warily. "Why do you want me to sign this?"
Carolyn snorted. "You're getting a company, and you're not willing? If I were you, I'd sign before the offer is withdrawn."
"Leave this great deal for your son and other daughter. I don't want it."
She placed the document on the table, clearly not intending to sign it.
Given Carolyn's dislike for her, there had to be some hidden agenda behind this generous offer.
Seeing Sharon's wary expression, Carolyn's eyes showed contempt. "I'm not playing tricks on you with this. If I wanted to deal with you, there are other ways. Just sign it and become the owner of this tech company. Do you know how many Silvercrest Groups this company is worth?"
Sharon's expression remained indifferent. "It has nothing to do with me. I don't want it."
"Whether you want it or not, you have to sign it today."
Carolyn's tone was forceful. She was informing Sharon to sign, not asking for her opinion.
If Sharon refused, Carolyn had ways to make her comply.
She looked Carolyn in the eye. "Fine, I'll sign. But before I do, I want to know how you plan to deal with me. I don't want to die without knowing why."
Carolyn frowned, her patience wearing thin.
"It's just a small company. It's not worth scheming against you. If I wanted to deal with you, there are other ways. Just sign and get out of my study. I don't want to see you."
Sharon lowered her gaze, staring at the document for a while. "I have one condition."
"What condition?"
"I want to be able to visit my dad anytime, anywhere."
