Chapter 499 He Will Definitely Seek Revenge
After his initial burst of anger, Leo quickly calmed down, his gaze towards Seb turning icy.
"Seb, Mr. Forbes already promised not to work with Silvercrest Group. Otherwise, he wouldn't have signed this contract with me. Don't think you can fool me."
Seb didn't bother to argue, his expression calm. "Believe what you want. It doesn't matter to me."
With that, Seb headed towards the Forbes Group with Paul in tow.
Leo watched Seb's retreating figure coldly and said to Zack, "Let's go back to the Forbes Group. I want to see who's lying to me, Seb or Alexander!"
Following Seb to the top floor, Leo stayed close behind as they entered Alexander's office.
Alexander looked surprised to see them together. "Mr. Smith, Mr. Wendy, why are you both here? Is there an issue with Mr. Wendy's contract too?"
Leo's face darkened at the word "too," glaring at Alexander. "Mr. Forbes, you promised me at the restaurant that you wouldn't work with Silvercrest Group. Why did Mr. Smith tell me you signed a contract with them this morning?"
Alexander raised an eyebrow and then smiled. "Yes, I did sign a contract with Silvercrest Group, but it's for a joint investment in electric vehicles, not for chips. Mr. Wendy, you told me at the restaurant that if I signed a chip contract with you, I couldn't sign one with Silvercrest Group. I kept my promise."
Leo wasn't stupid; he quickly realized Alexander was playing word games with him.
"Mr. Forbes, you're deliberately twisting my words. You're trying to acquire Vertex Innovations Group's latest chip at an impossibly low price, which is borderline commercial fraud. If you don't terminate your collaboration with Silvercrest Group, I'll have my lawyers file a lawsuit."
Alexander's smile gradually faded, his eyes narrowing. "Mr. Wendy, I had our conversation at the restaurant recorded. If you need it, I can send it to you. The recording clearly shows that you offered to sell the chip to the Forbes Group at the contract price. I only promised not to have a chip collaboration with Silvercrest Group, nothing else. You misunderstood me."
"The Forbes Group's legal team is more than capable. If you sue, you might lose the case and still have to deliver the promised chips. If you want to break the contract, the Forbes Group will use legal means to protect its rights."
Leo sneered. "I get it now. You and Seb set me up! Fine! I'll take the loss this time, but I promise there won't be a next time!"
With that, he stormed out in a rage.
The humiliation he suffered today, he vowed to repay one day.
Outside the Forbes Group, Leo threw the contract on the ground and stomped on it.
His face was dark, his eyes filled with anger, and a terrifying aura surrounded him.
Zack hesitated for a moment before picking up the trampled contract and dusting it off.
"Mr. Wendy, what should we do next?"
"Let's head back to Metropolis."
This trip to Aidamore had been a complete loss, costing him billions. Just thinking about it made Leo seethe with anger.
He would get his revenge, sooner or later.
In the Forbes Group president's office, after Leo left, Alexander couldn't hold back his laughter. "Haha, did you see Leo's face? I was gonna ignore him, but he practically begged me to take his money. Serves him right."
Seb stayed silent, his expression unreadable.
Once Alexander had his fill of laughter, he cleared his throat. "You have a flight tonight, right? Let's get this contract sorted out now."
Seb sat down across from him and pulled out the contract. "I've marked the problematic areas."
Alexander reviewed the document, confirmed the issues, and called his secretary to make the changes, reprint, and sign it.
It took over an hour to finalize the contract.
Once everything was confirmed, Seb put one copy in his bag. "Contact me if there are any further issues."
"Will do." At the door, Seb paused and turned to Alexander. "By the way, Leo's not the type to let things go. Since you tricked him, he'll definitely come after you. Be careful."
Alexander raised an eyebrow, unconcerned. "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
Seb nodded and left.
By the time Seb returned to Metropolis, it was early morning. He went straight to Silvercrest Group.
Despite the late hour, the top floor of Silvercrest Group was brightly lit, with all the shareholders waiting for Seb to return for a meeting.
Seb headed directly to the conference room, and the meeting lasted until after 3 a.m.
Rubbing his aching temples, Seb asked Paul to confirm the next day's schedule.
Seeing the dark circles under Seb's eyes, Paul suggested, "Mr. Smith, why don't you get some sleep first? We can confirm the schedule in the morning."
"Let's confirm it now. I need to visit the villa later."
Paul frowned. "Mr. Smith, it's already past 3 a.m. It takes an hour to get to the villa. By the time you return, it'll be almost dawn, and you have a meeting at 8 a.m."
"I can rest in the car."
These days Seb had been so busy that he hadn't even had time to message Sharon or video call Demetrius. With another busy day ahead, he could only see them now.
"Mr. Smith, you should rest. I'll bring Ms. Roach and Demetrius to the office in the morning, or they can join you for lunch. If you keep pushing yourself, your body won't hold up."
After a moment's hesitation, Seb agreed.
"Alright, let's confirm the schedule first."
Paul nodded and went over the next day's itinerary.
When he finished, he saw Seb had already fallen asleep in his chair.
Paul sighed. Seb had been sleeping only three to four hours a night, and most people wouldn't be able to keep up. He had come straight from the airport to the meeting, and his body was at its limit.
Paul didn't wake him. He fetched a blanket, covered Seb, reclined the chair, and turned off the lights before leaving the room.
At 7 a.m., Paul woke Seb.
"Mr. Smith, here are the materials for the meeting in an hour. At 10 a.m., Cedric from the R&D department will report the preliminary results of the Rainbow Group machine damage inspection."
Seb took the materials and nodded. "Got it."
After reviewing the documents, Seb went to his office to freshen up.
As he stepped out of the restroom, he was surprised to see Sharon and Demetrius sitting on the office sofa.
