Chapter 303 Demetrius Gets Injured
Tyler shot him a look, clearly annoyed. "Is that any way to talk to your father?"
Seb's voice was ice-cold, his eyes hard. "Depends on how you act."
Tyler sneered, "Well, Seb, aren't you just full of surprises!"
Seb's eyes narrowed. "I won't ask again. Where's Demetrius?" he demanded.
"If you wanna know, go find out yourself," Tyler retorted, his tone defiant.
Seb narrowed his eyes, speaking slowly, "Dad, you should know my patience has its limits."
"Are you threatening me? What do you think you have to threaten me with?" Tyler sneered again.
"Not much, just something that could bring down the Smith Group."
Tyler's face changed, staring hard at Seb. "You think you can scare me with just words?"
Seb raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Fife on the Smith Group's board, he's your guy, right?"
Even though Tyler had supposedly retired, he still had his spies in the Smith Group.
Seb had figured out who Tyler's people were, but since they hadn't clashed before, he let them be.
But Seb knew exactly what those people were up to.
Hearing this, Tyler's face went pale. Eloy Fife was his deepest mole, and Seb knew about him, not to mention the more obvious ones.
"Seb, I didn't think you'd be watching me all this time!" Tyler stammered, a hint of panic in his voice.
Seb's expression remained cold. "If you hadn't sent people to grab Demetrius and lied to me, I would've kept pretending I didn't know."
Tyler gritted his teeth, "You don't understand. I did it to save you! Do you want me to watch you die? Back then, you were ready to die for Sharon. If I hadn't found a way to make you forget her, do you think you'd be alive today?"
Seb was stunned. He was willing to die for Sharon back then? No way!
"I just want to know where Demetrius is now," Seb insisted, his voice tight with frustration.
Tyler took a deep breath and lowered his voice, "I'll tell you, but you have to pull back the people you placed here."
Seb thought for a moment and nodded, "Deal."
Tyler gave an address, and Seb turned and left immediately.
As he reached the door, Tyler's tired voice came from behind him, "After you get Demetrius, bring him here. He's my grandson, and I want to see him."
Seb paused but said nothing, opening the door and leaving.
In less than two hours, Seb had found Demetrius.
Seeing Seb, Demetrius was furious. "You bad man! Why did you bring me here! Take me back to my mom! I hate you! I don't want to stay with you!"
Demetrius's face was full of anger, his little fists clenched tightly, ready to hit Seb any second.
Seb frowned and told his subordinate, "Take him back to the villa, get someone to watch him, and don't let him run away."
"No, I want to go back to my mom. I want my mom!" As soon as Demetrius finished speaking, he was picked up and taken to the car behind.
Demetrius struggled desperately, but he was no match for an adult, and he was soon stuffed into the car and taken away.
Rufus walked up, "Mr. Smith, Ms. Roach is looking for Demetrius. Should we send him to her..."
Before he could finish, Seb cut him off coldly, "No, it's not safe for Demetrius to be with her now. We'll figure it out after this is over."
The fact that Demetrius was taken by Tyler's men from her side showed Sharon couldn't protect him. Seb wouldn't let Demetrius be in danger again.
"What should I do next?" Rufus asked.
"Head back to the group," Seb ordered.
As soon as he got there, Seb had Rufus call in the shareholders and department managers for a meeting.
Seb was fuming when he found out all the projects had slowed down while he was in Aidamore, leaving everyone on edge.
He slammed the documents on the table, his face stone-cold. "You've got a week to get back on track. No mistakes, or you're out!"
The room was dead silent. No one even dared to breathe too loudly, scared to catch Seb's eye.
Suddenly, Seb's phone rang.
He frowned, picked it up, and seeing the name on the screen, paused before answering, "What is it?"
"Seb, I'm in Metropolis now. Where's Demetrius?" Sharon's voice came through, tense and urgent.
Seb raised an eyebrow, surprised Sharon had come to Metropolis. "I told you, he's in a safe place. That's all you need to know," he replied, trying to sound firm.
Sharon's voice wavered with emotion. "Demetrius needs me. He's just a kid, not even five, taken away from everything he knows. He'll be scared. Are you really going to be this low just to fight for custody?"
Seb laughed bitterly. She had let someone take Demetrius away when she was raising him, and now she had the nerve to question him?
"He'll adjust. It's better than being with you. You can't even protect your own kid. Maybe you should think about that."
"You used dirty tricks to take Demetrius from my home. What right do you have to accuse me? You're the one who should reflect!"
"Say whatever you want. You're not seeing Demetrius again." Seb hung up the phone.
As soon as he put it down, everyone who had been sneaking glances at him quickly looked away, afraid he'd catch them.
Seb's cold gaze swept over the room. "Remember what I said. Meeting adjourned!"
Back in his office, Seb loosened his tie and got to work.
He worked late into the night until he got a call from the villa's servant. "Mr. Smith, there's a problem. Mr. Demetrius Smith refused to eat dinner and tried to sneak out of the second-floor window. He fell and is on the way to the hospital."
Seb's face darkened instantly. "You can't even take care of a kid! Useless!"
He called Rufus in, his voice icy. "Get the car ready. I'm going to the hospital." He quickly headed for the elevator.
Rufus followed, calling the driver. After giving instructions, he looked at Seb's grim face. "Mr. Smith, why are we going to the hospital?"
Seb's face was tight. "Demetrius tried to escape and fell from the second floor."
Rufus was shocked. Falling from the second floor would definitely hurt Demetrius.
"Is Mr. Demetrius Smith seriously hurt?" Rufus asked.
"Don't know yet," Seb was irritated. "Replace all the servants in the villa. They're useless!"
"Yes, sir!" Rufus replied.
The elevator reached the first floor, and Seb walked briskly towards the door.
As he stepped out of the Silvercrest Group building, a figure suddenly appeared in front of him.
Seeing it was Sharon, Seb's brows furrowed tightly, and he angrily asked Rufus, "How did she get here?"
