Chapter 322 This Is the Last Time
Randy clenched his jaw. "Uncle Seb, Sophie got it all wrong. Please forgive her."
But Sophie yanked her hand away from Randy and faced Seb again. "I don't need his forgiveness. No matter what, I'm getting justice for Sharon today."
Seb sneered. "Justice? You think you know everything?"
Seeing Seb's anger, Randy quickly pulled Sophie aside. "Sophie, you really misunderstood. That woman is Sharon. I didn't explain it well over the phone; I should've told you in person. Now, apologize to my uncle."
Sophie shook off his hand, her voice icy. "Why should I? Fine, if you say that woman is Sharon, then bring her out now! I want to see just how much she looks like Sharon!"
As Sophie finished speaking, the tension in the room skyrocketed.
Randy didn't dare look at Seb but forced himself to. "Uncle Seb."
Seb's eyes narrowed. "Randy, are you really willing to throw away all your hard work for Sophie?"
Seb could make Randy the General Manager at Smith Group, and he could have him fired by tomorrow too.
Randy's face went stiff, his hand clenching at his side.
Next to him, Sophie frowned and gritted her teeth. "Seb, this is my business. I was the one who hit you; leave Randy out of it. Call that woman out right now. If she really is Sharon, I'll let you slap me whenever you want!"
Seb's gaze bore into her. "Are you ordering me?"
Sophie met his eyes and said slowly, "Are you scared to bring her out? Feeling guilty?"
Seb's face turned icy. "Why should I? Besides, she's already asleep. Would I wake her up just because you want answers?"
Sophie's expression turned mocking. "If she really were Sharon, you wouldn't be making so many excuses. Seb, you're insulting Sharon by doing this. I won't let you off easy!"
The air seemed to freeze as she finished speaking.
Randy, who had been silent, looked at Seb and made up his mind. "Uncle Seb, if you let Sophie go, I'll give you all my shares."
Seb stayed silent.
Just as the situation hit a stalemate, Sharon came downstairs, having heard the commotion.
"What's all the noise about?" Sharon's voice cut through the tension.
Everyone turned to look at her, and the moment Sophie saw Sharon, she was stunned.
Sharon saw Sophie and a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes. "Sophie?"
Sophie looked at her in disbelief. "Sharon, is it really you?"
She stared at Sharon, unable to believe Sharon was still alive.
"It's me." Sharon stepped forward, intending to take Sophie's hand, but Sophie pulled away.
Sophie looked at Sharon, then glanced at Seb, and suddenly let out a cold laugh. "I once thought we were best friends, with no secrets between us. Looks like I overestimated our friendship."
With that, Sophie turned to leave.
Sharon hurriedly stepped forward and grabbed her. "Sophie, hear me out."
Sophie forcefully shook off Sharon's hand, tears welling up in her eyes. "I've been grieving your death for five years, while you were alive and well, hiding from me. Did you ever consider me a friend?"
Sharon's face was full of guilt. "Sophie, it's not what you think. There are many reasons behind this. Let me explain."
"I don't want to hear it!" Sophie yelled. "I thought we were best friends, but you treated me like this."
Seeing Sharon alive in front of her, Sophie was initially excited, but realizing that Sharon had hidden the truth and let her suffer for five years, she felt a deep sense of disappointment.
It turned out she was the only one living in pain for five years, while Sharon was alive and well, even getting back together with Seb.
At that moment, she felt like a joke.
Sharon was back with Seb, while she had foolishly come to seek justice for Sharon.
Sophie turned and quickly walked to her car. She got in, slammed on the gas, and sped away.
Worried, Randy quickly got into his car to chase after her.
Sharon bit her lower lip and instinctively looked at Seb, who had been silent all this time. She then noticed a slap mark on his face.
Realizing it was probably from Sophie, Sharon felt a flash of guilt. "Mr. Smith, I'm sorry. I didn't know Sophie would hit you."
Seb's face was cold. "Do you think that's enough for me to let her off?"
Hearing that, Sharon's heart tightened. "Mr. Smith, Sophie was just too emotional and lost her mind. Please don't hold it against her."
It was her fault for hiding the fact that she was alive from Sophie. If Seb targeted Sophie because of this, she would never forgive herself.
Seeing Sharon's pleading look, a trace of discomfort flashed across Seb's face. He turned his gaze away and said coldly, "Being emotional is no excuse for hitting someone."
Sharon anxiously said, "It's all my fault. If you want to hold someone accountable, take it out on me."
Seb looked at her deeply. "You think I won't?"
Of course, she knew he would.
Given how much he disliked her, her pleading for Sophie might only make him angrier.
After hesitating for a moment, Sharon said slowly, "Mr. Smith, let's go back. I'll help you treat the swelling on your face."
Seb frowned, seemingly wanting to refuse, but seeing Sharon's serious and determined look, he finally snorted coldly, "Suit yourself." With that, he turned and walked towards the villa.
Sharon followed closely behind. Once back in the living room, she took an ice pack from the fridge, wrapped it in a towel, and carefully approached Seb.
"Mr. Smith, please sit down," she said gently.
Seb sat down as instructed, his face still gloomy.
Sharon gently pressed the wrapped ice pack against Seb's cheek and said, "It might be a bit cold. Please bear with it."
Her hand trembled slightly as she could feel the cold aura emanating from Seb.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Smith. It's all my fault. Sorry for the trouble caused to you."
As she got closer, the scent of her body wash filled Seb's nostrils, and his eyes darkened.
He lowered his gaze, and his eyes suddenly froze.
Sharon's nightgown had a wide neckline, and with her head lowered, he could see her chest from his angle. A surge of desire rose from his lower abdomen, and his ears turned red.
Seb quickly looked away, but the image kept replaying in his mind.
The atmosphere grew even more oppressive as he remained silent.
Just when Sharon thought Seb wouldn't respond, he suddenly spoke, "This is the last time."
Sharon quickly nodded. "Okay, it won't happen again."
After finishing, Sharon breathed a sigh of relief. "Mr. Smith, take it easy with the food for the next few days, okay?"
