Chapter 347 Don't You Want to Get Revenge?

Zachary stopped dead in his tracks and looked at her, his eyes a bit shadowed. After a few seconds, he let out a sigh, "Sharon, I shouldn't have snapped at you. I'm sorry."

Zachary was definitely a little miffed about Sharon showing up with Seb. But the second Sharon grabbed his hand, most of his anger vanished instantly.

Sharon looked at him and said softly, "It was my fault. You had every right to be mad. I'm sorry. I didn't think about how you'd feel."

Since she agreed to be with Zachary, she knew she should keep her distance from other guys to make him feel secure. Given her history with Seb, it was totally normal for Zachary to be bothered by their interactions.

A hint of gentleness flashed in Zachary's eyes. "It's no big deal. It's in the past now. Let's head inside."

"Okay," Sharon agreed.

It wasn't until they walked into the auction venue that Sharon felt the piercing gaze behind her had finally disappeared.

Sophie also showed up at the auction. Seeing Sharon, she immediately walked over with a smile. "Sharon, you're here too!"

Sharon was pleasantly surprised to see her. "Yeah, it's been ages since we last met."

Sophie pulled Sharon aside and raised an eyebrow at Zachary. "Mr. Cook, I'm borrowing Sharon for a bit. You don't mind, do you?"

Zachary smiled. "How could I mind?"

After Sophie found out Sharon was still alive, she had dragged him out for an expensive meal. Zachary had to apologize several times before Sophie forgave him.

"As long as you don't mind," Sophie said and pulled Sharon away.

As Zachary watched them walk away, the smile on his face deepened. Now that Sharon was back in Metropolis and had made up with Sophie, she must be really happy.

Someone nearby recognized Zachary and came over to chat. Zachary quickly started chatting with a few of his business partners.

Sophie pulled Sharon to a corner sofa and whispered, "Sharon, guess who showed up today?"

Sharon thought for a moment and shook her head. "I've been away from Metropolis for years. How could I guess?"

"You know this person too," Sophie hinted.

Sharon frowned in thought and tentatively said, "Could it be Leo?"

In recent years, she often caught news about Leo on TV. He had founded a fast-growing pharmaceutical company that was a direct competitor to Silvercrest Group. He even hired many of their former employees, creating quite a headache for Silvercrest Group. However, Leo and Sharon were no longer in the same realm. Leo had married and reportedly had a child. Even if Sharon appeared before him now, he likely wouldn't lose his cool as he once did.

"No, think again. Who used to always go against you?" Sophie prompted.

"I can't think of anyone. Just tell me," Sharon replied.

"Alright, I'll tell you directly. It's Grace," Sophie revealed.

Sharon's eyes darkened. No one had mentioned this name in front of her for five years, but the mere thought of Grace filled her with deep disgust. "She didn't leave Metropolis?"

"You're overthinking it. Five years ago, after you fell into the sea, Seb forced Grace to marry Victor. I've heard that Victor has abused her countless times over the past five years, and she's been hospitalized several times. I don't know whether to pity her or think she deserves it," Sophie said.

Sharon lowered her eyes, suppressing the emotions surging in her heart. "Her affairs have nothing to do with me. I don't care."

"The point is that she didn't come with Victor. She came with Mr. Owens, the owner of a listed food company. They seemed very close, obviously having a deep relationship," Sophie continued.

Seeing the curiosity in Sophie's eyes, Sharon shook her head helplessly and said disinterestedly, "It's none of my business."

It did surprise her that Seb would make Grace marry Victor.

"Grace caused you so much harm back then. Don't you want to get back at her?" Sophie asked.

If it were in the past, Sharon might have wanted revenge. But ever since she had Demetrius, Sharon just wanted to work hard and let Demetrius grow up happily. Other things didn't matter as much to her.

"Didn't you just say that she married Victor and is often domestically abused? That's her retribution," Sharon replied.

Sophie pouted and snorted, "You can swallow this anger, but I can't. Grace has been hiding at home these years, so I had no chance to deal with her. Now that she's finally out, I must teach her a lesson."

Sharon frowned. "Sophie, I know you want to vent for me, but it's unnecessary. Didn't you say she has a deep relationship with Mr. Owens? Don't offend him because of me."

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," Sophie assured.

Seeing that Sophie wouldn't listen to her, Sharon felt a bit helpless.

Soon, the auction began.

Sharon wasn't interested in jewelry now. She propped her chin with one hand, looking indifferent. While Sophie was completely different, frequently raising her paddle to bid.

Not long after the auction started, Grace noticed them. Grace's face darkened when she saw Sharon. Her nails were dug into her palms, and her gaze was filled with venom. Robbie noticed her emotional change and followed her gaze, seeing Sharon next to Sophie. His eyes flashed with amazement.

"Do you know her?" Robbie asked.

Grace withdrew her gaze and said softly, "No."

Robbie raised an eyebrow but didn't ask further.

When Grace saw Sophie buy a lot of jewelry, a calculating look flashed in her eyes. She clung to Robbie's arm, her voice soft and charming. "Mr. Owens, I also like this set of jewelry."

Robbie clearly enjoyed her coquettishness. "Raise your paddle yourself. You can bid up to twenty million dollars."

He was quite interested in Grace recently, so he was willing to spend some money to please her.

"Thank you, Mr. Owens," Grace said.

Grace's coquettish voice made Robbie very happy, and he couldn't help but pinch her waist.

From then on, whenever Sophie showed interest in a piece of jewelry, Grace would subtly raise the bid, making Sophie pay several times its worth each time. Sophie didn't seem to mind; she kept smiling throughout.

Soon, Sophie started bidding on a set of jewelry worth ten million dollars, and Grace followed suit. Sophie squinted her eyes and directly raised her paddle, calling out twenty million dollars. Grace received Sophie's provocative look and raised her paddle. "Thirty million dollars."

She was certain that Sophie would continue to raise the price because Sophie had been bidding on this set of jewelry from the start, indicating she was determined to get it.

As soon as Grace finished speaking, the room fell silent, and Robbie's face darkened. However, with so many prominent figures from Metropolis present, Robbie didn't confront Grace immediately; he just shot her a cold look.

Grace was startled by his icy gaze and explained softly, "Mr. Owens, I didn't really want to buy this jewelry. Sophie will definitely bid higher to get it."

Robbie frowned. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure," Grace replied.

Then, the auctioneer on stage started calling out. "Thirty million dollars, going once!"

No one in the audience raised their paddle.

Grace's expression shifted, and she swiftly turned to face Sophie, who regarded her with a mocking smirk and eyes brimming with scorn. It was obvious Sophie had figured out that Grace had been intentionally raising the bids.
