Chapter 341 Dad Was Killed Because of You
Randy shot Sarah a frosty look. "Unlike you, who acted clueless when Grandpa was sick and still snagged six million bucks from the inheritance."
"Six million bucks!" Sarah scoffed. "What can you even do with that?"
"If you keep gambling like you used to, it won't last a month. But if you're smart about it, you could live off it for a few years," Randy shot back.
Sarah was mad, and her hatred for Tyler only deepened. How could he leave so much money and property to Sharon's illegitimate kid? It was practically the same as giving it straight to Sharon.
The more Sarah stewed over it, the angrier she got. She turned her glare to Sharon, who had been keeping quiet.
"Sharon, do you really have the guts to take this money and property?" Sarah snapped.
Sharon didn't care about Tyler's inheritance, but Sarah's tone was grating.
Sharon raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Since Mr. Tyler Smith left it to Demetrius, why shouldn't I take it? You think I'd give it up just so you can cash in?"
She'd rather donate the money and property to charity than let the Smith family get a dime.
Sarah looked at her with pure disgust. "So you're finally showing your true colors. You had Seb's kid just to fight us for the inheritance, didn't you?"
"If thinking that way makes you feel better, go ahead," Sharon said coolly.
She wasn't about to explain herself to Sarah, who only saw things her way and never listened to anyone else.
Ignoring Sarah's death stare, Sharon turned to Tony.
"Mr. Reynolds, can Demetrius's inheritance be transferred? I want to give it to Seb," Sharon asked.
She was neither in need of money nor interested in the things Tyler had left behind.
That stuff couldn't make up for the pain she'd been through or the nearly five years Demetrius had been without a dad.
Given David and Sarah's attitude today, keeping this inheritance would only bring trouble for her and Demetrius.
If she handed it over to Seb, even if they were pissed, they wouldn't dare mess with him.
Tony was taken aback. Tyler had left a lot for Demetrius. If the real estate and funds were converted into cash, it would amount to several hundred million dollars. How could Sharon give it up so easily?
"When Tyler gave me the will, he didn't say it couldn't be transferred," Tony replied.
"Then please draft a transfer agreement right now. I want to transfer all of Demetrius's inheritance to Seb," Sharon said.
Tony hesitated and instinctively looked at Seb for his take.
"Mr. Seb Smith, what do you think?" Tony asked.
"If she wants to transfer it, then draft the agreement," Seb said.
David and Sarah were floored. They hadn't expected Sharon to hand over all the inheritance to Seb.
David clenched his teeth, his eyes burning with resentment.
"No, it can't go to Seb! And Tyler's inheritance to Demetrius can't be valid because Seb isn't even a Smith!" David shouted.
Everyone except Seb was stunned.
Randy was the first to snap out of it, frowning. "Uncle David, even if you want Grandpa's inheritance, you can't just make up stuff like that, can you?"
David shot him a cold look. "If you don't believe me, have him do a paternity test with your grandpa. He was adopted from abroad by your grandparents, so he's not really a Smith. Therefore, his son isn't eligible to inherit the Smith family estate."
Randy instinctively glanced at Seb, who remained expressionless, and couldn't help but grit his teeth.
"Uncle Seb, is what Uncle David said true?" Randy asked.
"Yeah. It's true," Seb confirmed.
Randy's eyes widened, and it took him a few seconds to process the news.
Seb wasn't a Smith!
David sneered. "Glad you admit it, Seb. Even brothers need to keep things clear. Since you're not a Smith, you, Sharon, and Demetrius have no right to Dad's inheritance, right?"
Facing his mocking eyes, Seb calmly said, "The authenticity of the will has nothing to do with whether I'm a Smith."
Seeing that this approach didn't work, David continued, "You already have Silvercrest Group. Why are you still fighting us for this bit of inheritance?"
"I founded the Silvercrest Group myself. I never used a penny of the Smith family's money. Besides, who would complain about having too much money?" Seb replied.
"Anyway, I won't acknowledge this will! See you in court!" David declared.
Seb looked at him indifferently. "I'm afraid you don't have the right to sue me. After all, you killed Dad."
"What?" David's face turned pale, and his eyes showed guilt. "What nonsense are you talking about? Dad's health was already failing. What does that have to do with me? And he didn't leave me a penny. Why would I kill him?"
"Before you killed him, you didn't know he wouldn't leave you anything. Save your excuses for the police," Seb said.
Randy and Sarah both looked at David, their faces filled with anger.
Randy was angry because David had harmed his own father, while Sarah was angry because David acted too quickly, leaving her no chance to get Tyler to change the will.
"Uncle David, why did you harm Grandpa?" Randy asked.
"David, are you crazy?" Sarah exclaimed.
David quickly shook his head, his face pale. "It wasn't me! I didn't harm Dad! Do you believe Seb's one-sided story? He's just trying to divert your attention from the inheritance so he can keep what Dad left for Demetrius!"
Randy walked closer, his eyes cold. "Are you sure Uncle Seb is lying to us?"
He knew Seb's character. If Seb didn't have solid evidence, he wouldn't speak so definitively. So, Tyler must have been killed by David!
"Of course!" David insisted.
"I don't believe a word you say. Grandpa was recovering after surgery. I can't believe you were so cruel to kill your own father. If Grandpa hadn't made a will, you would now be entitled to a share of his estate probably," Randy said.
David's pupils shrank, and he kept shaking his head. "No, I didn't. You're lying!"
Seeing his guilty expression, everyone understood that Seb was telling the truth.
Sarah screamed and rushed forward to slap David.
"David, you idiot! It's all your fault! I could have gotten more inheritance. It's all because of you!" Sarah yelled.
David didn't expect her to suddenly attack. His face was scratched, and he angrily fought back.
