Chapter 134 Sharon's Disappearance

'But David's Seb's older brother. If Seb finds out, he probably won't help me.' Saron thought.

Sharon couldn't figure it out, so she decided to ask Seb directly next time.

The next morning, Sharon went to the hospital to see Alex. She opened the ward door and saw Ava feeding Alex soup.

Sharon paused and said calmly, "Sorry to interrupt."

Ava's eyes flashed with provocation, but she quickly put down the bowl and stood up nervously. "No, since Ms. Wright is here, I'll leave. I'll come back after you go."

Before Sharon could speak, Alex said, "Ava, go out. I need to talk to her."

Ava nodded, "Okay, I'll be outside. Call me if you need anything."

As she passed Sharon, Ava whispered, "Sharon, you can't win."

Sharon smiled slightly, "Don't worry, I never intended to compete with you."

Sharon thought, 'A cheating man like Alex only has Ava treating him like a treasure.'

After Ava left, the room fell silent.

After a while, Alex spoke indifferently, "Sharon, I know you don't want to be here, and you're busy with work. Ava can take care of me from now on."

Sharon frowned. If Alex hadn't gotten hurt saving her, she wouldn't have come. And if she didn't come, who knew what Clara would say about her.

"I'm your wife, and you saved me this time."

Alex chuckled, a hint of sarcasm in his eyes. "Even though I saved you and lost my legs for you, your attitude towards me hasn't changed, has it?"

"You did save me, but that doesn't erase your cheating from my mind. I gave you chances before, but you never dealt with Ava and her unborn child. Instead, you let Ava flaunt herself in front of me, didn't you?"

Most importantly, Sharon still hadn't figured out if Alex genuinely wanted to save her or if it was all part of his plan. If it was truly an accident, she would stay by Alex's side to take care of him. But if it was a scheme, she wouldn't be merciful.

Alex was speechless for a moment. After a long pause, he said slowly, "I no longer hope for you to stay by my side. I just hope you can spare my dad. But you won't agree to that. How can you bear to send a man in his fifties to prison?"

His tone was accusatory. Sharon sneered, "Why should I bear it? Why don't you ask your dad why he used such despicable means against Robert Pharmaceuticals?"

"I know it's hard for you to accept this right now, but we can't go back to the past. Compensation is the best option for you and Robert now. I can continue to find a kidney donor for Robert, and he will recover and be discharged soon."

"By then, I'll give Robert some money to start a new business. Maybe he can create another Robert Pharmaceuticals. If you hand over the evidence to the police, we'll both lose, and you won't get any compensation."

"Alex, you know how many times you've threatened me with the kidney donor. In the end, you gave the kidney to someone else. As for compensation, I don't need it."

Hearing this, Alex looked at her helplessly. "Sharon, I've protected you too well these past few years, making you so naive now."

"Only what you can hold in your hands is the most important. Do you understand?"

"It's a cruel world. Do you think everyone gets justice and an apology? Justice doesn't always side with the truth; it sides with power."

Sharon looked at Alex, her eyes cold.

"So, I should just accept your so-called compensation like charity and pretend nothing happened?"

"I just hope you understand what's important now, Sharon. Be real. The fairness you're after doesn't mean squat."

Sharon took a deep breath. "As long as I think it's meaningful, that's enough."

Seeing her determined expression, Alex's gaze darkened. "So, you're gonna hand that evidence over to the police, right?"

"I said I need time to think about it."

The last trace of warmth in Alex's eyes disappeared. He looked at Sharon expressionlessly. "I understand. You can leave now."

Seeing him like this, Sharon felt uneasy.

"Take care of yourself. If you really can't walk again, I'll stay by your side to take care of you."

Alex didn't say anything, his expression terrifyingly cold.

Sharon didn't say anything more and left the ward.

After getting in the car, Sharon thought for a long time and decided to call Sophie to arrange a meeting.

In the ward, Alex stared out the window for a while, then picked up his phone and called David.

"Dad, do as you said."

After speaking, Alex immediately hung up, afraid that if he delayed even a second, he would regret it.

From this car accident, Alex had already seen that Sharon had no feelings for him, and he wouldn't hesitate anymore.

Ava pushed open the ward door and walked in. Seeing Alex's gloomy expression, she paused.

"Alex, what's wrong? Did you have a fight with Ms. Wright?"

"Mind your own business."

Ava's face stiffened. "Okay, I understand."

She sat down by the bed and said softly, "The soup will get cold if you don't drink it soon. Let me feed you."

Alex looked at Ava impatiently. "I don't want it now. You can go."

"But I spent hours making this soup, you..."

"Get out!"

Alex's expression turned terrifyingly sinister. Ava was so scared she took two steps back, her face pale.

She bit her lip, her eyes full of grievance. "Fine, if you don't want me here, I'll leave."

With that, Ava turned and ran out of the ward, crying.

There was no change in Alex's eyes. He didn't care about Ava's emotions at all.

Sophie waited in the restaurant for over an hour, but Sharon still hadn't arrived. She called Sharon, but her phone was off.

Sophie frowned, feeling uneasy. Sharon was in the car, so she shouldn't have turned off her phone.

Over the next ten minutes, Sophie called several more times, but Sharon's phone was still off.

Sophie's heart sank, feeling that something must have happened to Sharon.

Sophie was about to call the police but remembered she had to wait twenty-four hours before reporting a missing person. She hesitated and then called Seb.

Seb had previously asked her to give something to Sharon, so finding Seb seemed better than finding Alex.

As soon as the call connected, Sophie hurriedly said, "Uncle Seb, Sharon asked to meet me earlier, but I've been waiting for over an hour, and she hasn't shown up. Can you help find her?"
