Chapter 585 Give Up This Position

Seeing that Alton genuinely wouldn't help him, Gareth let out a cold laugh and decided not to plead any further.

"Fine, remember what you said today. Since you refuse to help us, from now on, we're enemies!"

With that, Gareth stood up and left.

Watching Gareth's retreating figure, Alton shook his head, sighed, and headed towards his bedroom.

He had no intention of getting involved in their issues, which had nothing to do with him.Gareth stormed out of Alton's mansion and headed straight back to the estate.

With Alton unwilling to help, Gareth couldn't think of any other way to resolve the issue with the southern land.

Should he go and beg the Bermad Family?

He quickly dismissed that idea.

Even if the Bermad Family agreed to return the land, they would undoubtedly demand an exorbitant price.

Thinking about this, Gareth's eyes darkened.

That night, everyone at the estate, except Sharon, had trouble sleeping.

The next morning, after breakfast, Gareth followed Carolyn to the study.

"Mom, I'm planning to go to the south myself to see if I can find a piece of land similar in size to the previous one."

Carolyn frowned and immediately refused, "No, you're not familiar with the forces in the south. Some lands are untouchable. If you offend the people there, it won't be something money can fix."

After all, the Stoll family and the Bermad Family had been at odds for years. Although both wanted to outdo the other, they never went too far.

The southern forces had no significant interest entanglements with the Stoll family. For them, the Stoll family coming over would actually harm their interests, which was why it took over a year to find a suitable piece of land.

If Gareth went, he might inadvertently offend one of the local forces.

The southern forces wouldn't be like the Bermad Family, negotiating after capturing someone. Gareth could be in real danger.

"But you need to stay here to stabilize the Stoll family. I'm the only one who can go south. If you're worried, you can have your secretary accompany me. He went with you to the south before and is familiar with the local forces. With him around, I shouldn't offend anyone."

Carolyn thought for a moment but still disagreed with Gareth's plan. "You should stay at the estate, recover, and learn how to manage the family. I'll handle the land issue."

Gareth looked directly at Carolyn. "What can you do now? Just stabilizing the Stoll family is already overwhelming. This mistake is mine, and I should fix it. How else will I grow?"

Seeing Gareth's determination, Carolyn was silent for a long time before speaking, "If I don't let you go, are you planning to sneak off?"

Gareth nodded, "Yes."

Once Gareth decided on something, he wouldn't change his mind for anyone, not even his mother.

"Alright, I understand. I'll have Gage go with you to the south. But you must promise me not to clash with any local forces. If you don't find suitable land within half a month, come back immediately."

"Okay."

Carolyn picked up her phone and called Gage, asking him to come to the estate.

When Gage arrived, Carolyn said, "Gage, Gareth is going south, and I need you to accompany him."

Gage looked surprised, "Mrs. Stoll, why is Gareth going south?"

"The Stoll family had issues with the land we bought in the south. We need to find a new piece of land. Gareth isn't familiar with the local forces, so you need to go with him. Don't offend anyone. If you don't find suitable land within half a month, come back immediately."

Gage nodded, "Understood. I'll go prepare now."

"Good. I'll have someone book your flight for tomorrow morning."

"Alright, Mrs. Stoll."

After Gage left, Gareth returned to his room to pack.

After lunch, Gareth and Gage headed to the airport.

In the afternoon, Sharon arrived at the office, and Jenny walked up to her. "Ms. Roach, these are the designs from the designers. See if there's a style you like. If not, I'll have them redesign."

Sharon took the designs from Jenny and said, "Alright, I'll look at them later."

Back in her office, Sharon reviewed a few designs and picked her favorite. She called Jenny in.

"I like this design. Let's remodel the office according to this."

Jenny glanced at the design and nodded, "Okay, Ms. Roach. The remodel might take about two weeks. You'll need to use the small conference room as your office during that time."

"That's fine. Should I move today?"

Jenny nodded, "Yes, if possible, it's best to move now. The workers will come this afternoon to measure."

"Alright, I don't have much to move. I'll go now."

"Alright, Ms. Roach."

Jenny led Sharon to the small conference room, which was more like a small office, equipped with everything she needed.

Jenny moved the necessary files to the desk and said, "Ms. Roach, you'll have to work here for the next couple of weeks."

"Okay. Is there anything else I need to do today besides reviewing these files?"

Jenny thought for a moment, "No other arrangements for now."

"Alright."

"I'll leave you to it, Ms. Roach. If you need anything, call me."

After Jenny left, Sharon picked up the files on the desk. They were all minor contracts, so she set them aside.

The afternoon passed quickly, and it was soon time to leave.

As Sharon was packing up, she heard Jenny's panicked voice at the door, "Robin, Ms. Roach is working. You can't go in."

Before she finished, the conference room door was pushed open, and an angry man walked in.

He had white hair and blue eyes, looking fierce, and his gaze at Sharon was full of anger.

He strode to Sharon's desk and slammed his hand down, "Did Carolyn transfer all her shares to you?"

Sharon looked at him calmly, "And you are?"

Jenny stepped forward, frowning, "Robin, if you have any issues, you should talk to Mrs. Stoll."

Robin sneered, "She doesn't have any shares in Carter Tech Company anymore. Why would I talk to her?"

Thinking about how Carolyn transferred all her shares to her daughter without consulting the shareholders and made her the CEO of Carter Tech Company, Robin found it laughable.

What could someone who knew nothing about business do besides mismanage the company?

Jenny's expression was serious, "Yelling at Ms. Roach won't help. She now holds the most shares, so her becoming CEO is reasonable."

Robin sneered, "Did Carolyn hold a meeting about this? Did any shareholders agree? I want a shareholder vote. I won't let this business-ignorant woman manage Carter Tech Company!"

They were speaking in a foreign language, but Sharon understood.

She looked at Robin and said, "You can call a shareholder meeting, but it won't change the number of shares I hold."

Robin's eyes were cold, his anger evident, "Your presence will only lead Carter Tech Company to decline! If you don't step down, I'll resign from the board and sell my shares!"

Jenny's face changed, "Robin, you can't do that."

Robin held 10% of Carter Tech Company's shares. Selling them would cause a stock price shock.

Sharon was unfazed by Robin's threat, "Then sell them."

Carter Tech Company's fate didn't matter to Sharon. Even if it collapsed tomorrow, it wouldn't affect her.

Robin's face fell, "You must leave Carter Tech Company, or I'll make all the directors leave, turning it into a shell company!"

"I won't leave unless Mrs. Stoll asks me to. You can't change that. She put me in charge, and I wouldn't have come otherwise."

Robin was stunned, "You dare belittle Carter Tech Company? Without Carolyn, you wouldn't even get an interview here."

"There are plenty of companies. I don't need Carter Tech Company. If you don't want me, I don't want to be here."

With that, Sharon grabbed her bag and left.

Robin kicked a chair in anger, his face full of rage.

Jenny carefully righted the chair and said, "Robin, yelling at Ms. Roach won't help. Mrs. Stoll still controls the company."

Jenny knew Robin was aware that Carolyn still controlled Carter Tech Company. He was just venting his anger on Sharon.

Even if it wasn't Sharon, Carolyn would appoint someone else as CEO, never Robin.

Robin sneered, "We'll see. I want to know what Carolyn is planning!"

With that, Robin left.

Sharon returned to the estate, seeing Carolyn sitting on the couch in the hall. She didn't greet her and headed straight to her room.

As she passed Carolyn, her cold voice rang out, "Stop!"
