Chapter 389 Modify the Report Time of Experiment Progress
Back at the company, Sharon was just about to take her lunch break when Donna called her up.
"Hey Sharon, from now on, can you report the experiment progress during work hours?"
Sharon blinked in surprise. "Why? Isn't Mr. McPherson and the lab team usually busy with experiments then?"
"Mr. Smith wants to sit in on the future progress reports, so we need to do them during work hours."
Sharon finally got it. Seb must have made this change for her.
But changing the report time just for her would mess up everyone else's schedule.
Thinking about this, Sharon said softly, "Donna, I'll talk to Mr. Smith and see if we can adjust the time."
"Don't stress yourself out. You've had so many issues with Mr. Smith before. Didn't you say you wanted to avoid too much contact with him?"
When Lavern suggested giving the Metropolis experiment project to Sharon, Donna wasn't thrilled. But Donna had her own unfinished project and couldn't split herself, so she had to agree.
After a moment of hesitation, Sharon decided to tell Donna about her relationship with Seb.
Donna's voice was incredulous. "Didn't you say you didn't like him?"
"I used to think I had no feelings for him, but after coming to Metropolis, he helped me a lot. He even risked his life to save me, so I decided to give us a chance."
Her heart wasn't made of stone. Seeing what Seb had done for her, she couldn't stay indifferent.
After a pause, Donna slowly said, "Ultimately, it's your choice, it's your life. He is Demetrius's father, and if you can be together, that would be great."
Hanging up the phone, Sharon put her cell away and headed straight to the top floor to find Seb.
As she entered his office, Seb looked up, a curious eyebrow arching. "Weren't you supposed to have lunch with Sophie today? How come you have time to see me?"
Sharon walked into the office.
Seb got up and walked towards her.
The smile on Sharon's face turned into a look of caution. "Why did you suddenly get up?"
"What do you think?"
Seb's voice had a teasing edge. Sharon felt uneasy and turned to leave his office. Just as she reached the door, Seb hugged her from behind.
"Sharon, weren't you supposed to say something? Are you just going to leave like this?" He whispered in her ear, his voice low and seductive.
"Let go of me first."
"No way, you left me to have lunch alone for your friend. Shouldn't you make it up to me?"
Sharon shot back, "Didn't you leave me to have lunch alone several times for business meetings? I didn't see you making it up to me."
"Then I'll make it up to you now."
Seb's voice was filled with joy, like he'd been waiting for Sharon to say this.
"No need, I..."
The rest of her words were cut off by Seb's kiss, and soon the office was filled with the sounds of their intimacy.
When Seb finally let go of Sharon, her hands were gripping his suit tightly, her legs weak, almost unable to stand. "Seb, if you pull that stunt again, I won't come up to see you anymore."
"Are you sure?" Seb teased before Sharon could respond. "If you don't come to see me, I'll just come down to your office and kiss you there."
"You're shameless!"
Seb's lips curled into a satisfied smile. Without another word, he scooped her up and carried her to the sofa.
"Let go of me. What if someone comes in?" Sharon protested.
"No one will come in."
Just as Seb finished speaking, the office door swung open. "Mr. Smith, here are the financial reports for the last quarter..."
Paul froze, seeing Sharon on Seb's lap, her face buried in his chest, and Seb glaring at him. Paul quickly used the documents to cover his face.
"I didn't see anything, Mr. Smith. Please, carry on."
With that, Paul hurriedly exited the office and closed the door behind him.
Hearing the door click shut, Sharon lifted her head from Seb's chest, with her face flushing with embarrassment, and glared at Seb. "I told you someone would come in! How am I supposed to face Paul now? If this gets out, how can I stay in Silvercrest Group?"
Seb held her waist, his hand gently caressing her. "Don't worry, Paul knows about us, and he definitely won't spread this around."
Seb's hand continued to wander, but Sharon slapped it away. "Don't touch me!"
Seeing her still fuming, Seb smiled. "I was wrong today. I'll make sure to lock the door next time, okay?"
She pushed him away and jumped off his lap, staying silent.
Seb didn't stop her. He knew if he really angered her, he'd have to spend time making it up to her later.
Sharon tidied her slightly messy hair and clothes and sat down opposite Seb.
"Donna called me today and said you want to attend the future experiment progress reports?" Sharon asked.
"Yes."
"We've always scheduled the reports for 8 PM because we're busy with experiments during the day. If you're doing this because of me, it's unnecessary," Sharon added.
Seb frowned. "Partly because of you, but mainly because I often have social engagements in the evening. I want to schedule the reports during work hours."
Hearing this, Sharon finally breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. "Okay, I understand."
"Did you come to see me just for this?" Seb asked.
"Yes, and there's only forty minutes left before the afternoon work starts. I need to take a nap, so I'll head back," Sharon explained.
Seb had a few more documents to handle, so he didn't stop her. "Alright, message me after work."
"Okay."
As she walked out of Seb's office, she met Paul's gaze. Sharon felt embarrassed and quickly looked away, walking briskly down the hall.
Paul got up with the financial reports and knocked on Seb's office door before entering. "Mr. Smith, here are the financial reports."
Seb took the reports, glanced at Paul, and was about to speak when his phone on the desk suddenly rang.
Seeing that it was a call from Bernice, Seb changed his expression.
