Chapter 202 Spent Billions of Dollars on Her

Sharon looked away, not saying a word.

Sophie, sounding annoyed, said, "I don't get why Seb's into her. She dumped him years ago, and now they're back together. Such a jerk!"

Thinking about Seb leaving Sharon for Grace made Sophie mad.

"Enough about him. The auction's starting soon. Don't miss the jewelry set you want."

"I won't. It's the last item."

As Sharon and Sophie chatted, Ava glared at them from behind, full of resentment.

She touched her stomach and frowned. "Alex, my stomach hurts. I need to go to the restroom."

Alex looked annoyed. "What's wrong? The auction's about to start."

Ava had never been to an event like this, and everyone was dressed casually. If she messed up, it could be a problem.

Ava looked down. "Maybe it's just a bit cold in here."

"Be back in ten minutes."

If Ava hadn't helped him get Arthur's contract, Alex wouldn't have brought her to embarrass himself.

Alex's indifference made Ava feel disappointed.

"Okay."

Ava left for the restroom.

Five minutes later, she came out, smiling, and started washing her hands.

"What did you say to that waiter?"

Ava jumped at the voice and saw Grace, eyes cold.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Grace walked up, mocking her. "I'm warning you, don't mess up my plan. If you do, you'll regret it!"

Ava sneered. "What does your plan have to do with me? Just because you helped me once doesn't mean I'll do whatever you say."

Earlier, Sharon and Sophie had humiliated her, and she wouldn't forget it.

"If you go after Sharon here, you'll get caught. You don't want Alex to dump you again, do you?"

Ava bit her lip, clenching her fist, and stayed silent.

If she missed this chance, who knew when she'd get another? She wasn't backing down.

Just thinking about Sophie's slaps made Ava furious.

Seeing Ava's hesitation, Grace chuckled.

"I know you want Sharon gone. I do too, but you don't know anyone here. You could pay that waiter to set up Sharon, but he might turn on you if someone else pays him more."

Ava's eyes widened, and she turned pale.

Grace was right.

But she didn't want to let it go.

Sensing Ava's doubt, Grace said, "I've said my piece. Do what you want, but if you get caught, that's on you."

With that, Grace walked away.

After a moment's hesitation, Ava texted the waiter to cancel the plan. Grace was right; there'd be other chances to deal with Sharon. No need to rush.

'Let Sharon be smug for now,' Ava thought.

Back at the venue, the auction had started. A pink diamond necklace was up for bid. The heart-shaped main diamond, surrounded by ninety-nine smaller ones, sparkled beautifully under the lights. Ava was mesmerized.

"Alex, this necklace is gorgeous. Can you bid for it?" she asked.

Alex didn't respond but eyed the pink diamond. He knew it would look stunning on Sharon. He used to buy her necklaces on business trips because they always looked great on her.

The bidding began. Ava, seeing Alex's silence, was about to ask again when he raised his paddle.

"$500,000!"

Ava's eyes lit up. She thought Alex still had feelings for her.

But then Seb, in the front row, raised his paddle.

"$1,000,000!"

Alex frowned, thinking Seb was doing it on purpose.

"$1,500,000!"

"$2,000,000!"

"$3,000,000!"

Others joined in at first but soon dropped out. The necklace, though beautiful, wasn't worth more than $3,000,000.

"$40,000,000!"

"$50,000,000!"

When Seb bid $50,000,000, Alex's grip on the paddle tightened, his face showing frustration. He couldn't keep Sharon, and now he couldn't even win this necklace from Seb.

Ava, emotional, thought Alex was competing for her. But the price was too high.

"Alex, it's not worth that much. Spending that kind of money on a necklace isn't sensible," Ava whispered, holding his hand.

Alex, tense, didn't raise the paddle again.

Seb won the necklace for $50,000,000. Women around them looked at Grace with envy. Seb had already bought several pieces of jewelry, spending hundreds of millions.

"I didn't believe Seb truly loved Grace, but now I do. He's spent so much on her!"

"I'm so jealous. I want a boyfriend like Seb!"

"Seb's really generous. Is she here to stock up?"

Grace, hearing the chatter and feeling the envious stares, smiled, her vanity satisfied. She looked at Seb, his cold profile making him even more attractive under the lights.

"Seb, don't bid on any more jewelry. I can't wear all of it," she said.
