Chapter 215 Just a Woman
"I'm just worried about you..."
Sharon didn't react to Seb's words. She just looked at him blankly. "Mr. Smith, we're just colleagues. I don't need your concern."
Seb frowned and spoke softly, "Sharon, I know you're still upset about what happened before, I..."
Sharon cut him off, looking a bit exasperated. "I'm not upset. We're done. No matter what you do, I'm not getting back with you. I need to rest now. Please leave."
With that, Sharon shut the door.
Seb stood there for a moment before finally walking away.
Sharon sat back on the couch, thinking about how to uncover the truth.
Silvercrest Group was gearing up to sue Pacific Wellness Institute. Someone who sent the email from her computer must have contacted Pacific Wellness Institute beforehand.
If she investigated from the Pacific Wellness Institute side, she might find some clues.
Thinking of this, Sharon called Paul.
After finding out who the email was sent to, Sharon decided to visit the person the next morning.
Paul advised, "Ms. Wright, you should wait at home for the results. The people at Pacific Wellness Institute are now adamantly claiming that you sent them the experimental data."
Sharon replied slowly, "Since they say it was me, besides the email, there should be evidence of me contacting them before sending it, right? It can't be that I just got an email address out of nowhere and sent them the data without any prior contact, can it?"
"They don't have such evidence. I'll contact the lawyer right away."
After hanging up, Sharon felt relieved. She had never dealt with the other party, which was a good starting point.
But the key was to find out who used her computer to send the email, or she'd still be blamed since the email came from her computer.
Early the next morning, Sharon went straight to the entrance of Pacific Wellness Institute to wait for Gilbert Hawkins.
When Gilbert Hawkins, the research department manager at Pacific Wellness Institute, appeared, she immediately approached him. "Mr. Hawkins, I'm Sharon, a drug researcher from Silvercrest Group. You should know my name, right?"
Though Sharon was smiling, her eyes were cold.
Gilbert didn't expect Sharon to confront him directly. He raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Of course, I know you. If it weren't for you, our Pacific Wellness Institute wouldn't be in this lawsuit mess."
"Mr. Hawkins, you're good at twisting things. You got the data of the asthma drug I developed through shady means and couldn't wait to make it public. It's only right that Silvercrest Group is suing you. I just don't get it, what did I do to Pacific Wellness Institute that you had to frame me?"
"Ms. Wright, don't tell me this. The email was sent from your computer. Isn't it normal for you to take responsibility?"
Sharon's smile turned icy. "I won't admit to something I didn't do. Silvercrest Group will find out who colluded with Pacific Wellness Institute. I will also sue Pacific Wellness Institute for slandering me and stealing business secrets."
Gilbert stayed calm. "Please go ahead, Ms. Wright. I have work to do, so I'll take my leave."
After Gilbert left, Sharon glanced back at the Pacific Wellness Institute building and then walked away.
On her way back, Sharon got a call from Brian.
"Ms. Wright, I found out Samuel had contact with people from the Edwards group before. But you shouldn't have any personal issues with them, so they have no reason to target you."
Sharon's grip on her phone tightened. She lowered her eyes and said, "No, there is a personal grudge. Got it. Mr. Hill, you don't need to investigate further. If you have time, please check if Gilbert Hawkins from Pacific Wellness Institute has had any contact with employees from Silvercrest Group."
"Okay, I'll look into it right away."
After hanging up, Sharon transferred some money to Brian.
Once she saw Brian had received it, she logged out of Facebook.
She put her phone in her bag, thought for a moment, and then called Seb.
The call was quickly answered, and Seb's voice sounded tense. "Sharon, what's wrong?"
Sharon pressed her lips together, hesitated for a moment, but quickly regained her composure.
"Mr. Smith, I don't know what kind of issues you have with Grace and Victor, but I don't want to be involved anymore. Please tell Victor to stop having people follow me."
There was a moment of silence before Seb's cold voice came through. "Victor had someone follow you? When did this happen?"
"Just in the past couple of days. For the specifics, Mr. Smith, you can ask him yourself."
With that, Sharon hung up.
She put down her phone, feeling a trace of guilt.
Right now, she couldn't contend with Victor and had to use Seb to deal with him.
At Silvercrest Group's President's Office, Seb called Victor directly, his voice filled with anger. "What did you do to Sharon?"
"What could I have done to her? Did she tell you some nonsense? When you were with Sharon before, I knew she was scheming. Now she's trying to ruin our relationship!"
Seb sneered. "Victor, do you take me for a fool? If you don't want to say, that's fine. I'll find out myself. And when I do, don't expect me to care about our friendship!"
There was silence on the other end, and after a few seconds, Victor's cold voice came through again.
"Yes, I did have someone follow her, but that's because she overestimated herself and tried to interfere in your relationship with Grace."
Seb laughed angrily. He hadn't realized before that whenever something involved Grace, Victor would lose his mind and always side with her.
"Victor, I broke up with Grace a long time ago. This time she came back, leveraging her illness and the fact that she once saved my life to push me to break up with Sharon and get back together with her. She is the one interfering in my relationship with Sharon."
"Considering our years of friendship, you should personally apologize to Sharon, and this matter will be over."
"Apologize to her? She doesn't deserve it!" Victor's voice was filled with anger, feeling insulted.
Victor thought, 'There is no way I would apologize to her!'
"Since you are unwilling, I have nothing more to say. The cooperation between Silvercrest Group and the Edwards group ends here. Take care."
Listening to the busy tone on the phone, Victor smashed his phone in anger, his face dark.
'Seb is willing to end their years-long friendship and cooperation for Sharon!' Thinking of this, Victor's hatred for Sharon deepened.
If it weren't for Sharon, none of this would have happened.
Victor cursed inwardly, 'You warn me not to touch Sharon? I would do it anyway!'
Sharon was just a woman. Victor didn't believe Seb would really fall out with him over her!
