Chapter 528 Sad That You Haven't Recognized Me
Sharon had calmed down by the time she saw Seb. She stood up and said, "Leo just told me that some mysterious person took Demetrius away."
Seb turned to Rufus, his voice icy. "Any idea who this person is?"
Rufus shook his head. "Mr. Smith, we haven't figured it out yet. The surveillance footage from the entrance of Harmony Apartments during that time was deleted. We're still trying to recover it."
"How long will that take?"
"Not sure yet."
Seb's expression remained stoic, but the tension in the room thickened. "What do you mean, 'not sure'? You can't even recover some footage? What am I paying you for?"
Rufus felt a pang of frustration. He wasn't a professional at this. But he didn't dare say that to Seb. He lowered his head and said, "Mr. Smith, I'll make sure they hurry."
"Get it done within an hour. Also, most people have surveillance cameras at home these days. Take some people and check the nearby houses. See if anyone's camera caught that person or Demetrius."
Rufus nodded. "Got it. I'll get on it right away."
Leaving two men to watch Leo, Rufus took the others and left immediately.
"Mr. Smith, what about Leo?"
Seb's face was emotionless. "Send him to the police station. Make sure he never gets out."
If anything happened to Demetrius, Seb would make sure Leo's life was a living hell.
"Understood."
Two men took Leo away, leaving Seb and Sharon alone in the living room.
Seb walked over to Sharon. "Sharon, don't worry. Demetrius will be fine."
Sharon's eyes were red and swollen. "You've been telling me that since Demetrius was taken. But look at us now. Not only have we not found him, but now he's been taken by some mysterious person. How can I not worry?"
The more she thought about it, the more she regretted not being more cautious when she saw that unfamiliar servant.
If she had been more alert, maybe Demetrius wouldn't have been kidnapped by Leo, and he wouldn't have been taken by that mysterious person.
"Sharon, I'm sorry."
Sharon turned away and wiped her tears. After a while, she spoke. "You don't need to apologize... This isn't your fault. I just got a bit emotional."
Seb pulled her into his arms. "I'll do everything I can to find Demetrius."
Suddenly, his phone rang.
Seeing it was Rufus, he quickly answered. "What is it?"
"Mr. Smith, we found a house with a camera that caught the mysterious person. But he's completely covered up, so we can't see his face."
"Send the footage to Paul immediately. Have him investigate!"
As long as they could see the person's appearance, they could track him through the city's surveillance network.
"Yes, Mr. Smith."
Hanging up, Seb looked at Sharon. "Sharon, we've found traces of the mysterious person. Now we just need to wait for Paul's results. We'll find out where Demetrius was taken soon."
Sharon's eyes lit up with hope. She nodded. "Okay."
Meanwhile, Demetrius was taken to a restaurant by the masked man.
After they sat down in a private room, the masked man handed Demetrius a menu.
"Hungry? See what you want to eat."
Looking around at the upscale restaurant, Demetrius's eyes darted around. "I need to use the restroom."
The masked man raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Order first, then you can go."
Once he was caught again, he probably wouldn't be in the mood to order.
Demetrius nodded obediently. "Okay."
After ordering, Demetrius handed the menu back to the masked man. "Can I go to the restroom now?"
The masked man nodded. "Go ahead."
Demetrius turned and walked out. At the door, he glanced back at the masked man, who was still sitting there, showing no intention of following him. His eyes flashed with confusion.
Wasn't he afraid Demetrius would try to escape?
The masked man raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong? Don't want to go?"
"No, I want to go."
Afraid the masked man would change his mind, Demetrius quickly turned back, opened the door, and dashed out.
Watching him leave, the masked man chuckled, took off his mask, and sipped his wine with a smile.
Demetrius ran to a corner but didn't head to the restroom. Instead, he ran towards the exit.
If he could get out, he could call his parents to come get him.
Even though he felt the strange man wouldn't hurt him, he was still scared.
He ran quickly and reached the restaurant's entrance in less than two minutes.
Almost there!
Just as he was about to run out, two men in black appeared out of nowhere, blocking his way.
They grabbed him and took him back to the private room.
Demetrius scowled, regretting not escaping through the restroom.
The man now had his mask off and his hat removed.
Demetrius took one look and quickly covered his eyes. "Put your mask back on! I don't want to see your face!"
If he saw the man's face, the man wouldn't let him go.
He didn't want to be killed.
Seeing Demetrius cover his face, the man chuckled.
He looked to be in his twenties, with features that weren't particularly striking but combined to make a memorable face.
He propped his chin on one hand and swirled his wine with the other, raising an eyebrow. "Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. I just wanted to have a meal with you. That's all. You can put your hands down."
Demetrius shook his head. "No... I don't want to see your face. Cover it up, and then I'll put my hands down."
This man had found Leo, so he might be working with him.
He didn't want to see his face.
The man raised an eyebrow, surprised at Demetrius's caution.
His smile deepened, and he decided not to tease him anymore. "Demetrius, we've talked on the phone so many times. I'm hurt you haven't recognized me after all this time."
Demetrius froze, lowering his hands after a few seconds to look at the man across from him.
He had only glanced at him when he entered the room and quickly covered his face. Now, seeing the man's face clearly, his eyes widened in disbelief.
"You're my teacher, Alton Roach?"
Alton nodded. "That's right."
Demetrius's expression shifted from disbelief to joy. He jumped off his chair and ran to Alton, excitedly. "Mr. Roach, when did you get here? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I called you, but you didn't answer. When I called again, your phone was off. I thought you didn't want to see me!"
"No! I was kidnapped then... Mr. Roach, I'm so glad you came to save me. Thank you, Mr. Roach! You're the best!"
