Chapter 336 He's Really Ruthless!

Clara's lips quivered. She tried to speak, but nothing came out.

She never thought Seb would put surveillance cameras in the Smith Mansion's living room. But even if she knew, given her loathing for Seb, she might intentionally divulge the matter.

"Seb, it's all on me and David. We didn't raise Alex right. If you want revenge, take it out on us. Please, let Alex go!" Clara begged.

Seb didn't even flinch. "I need to rest now. Get out in a minute," he said with ice-cold voice.

Clara and David froze, exchanged a look, and knew this was their only shot to save Alex.

David struggled to his feet and looked at Seb. "I still have two million dollars. I'll give you all of it. I'll convince Dad to hand over the Smith Group to you, just let Alex go."

Seb's face stayed stone-cold, a flicker of impatience in his eyes. "You think you can negotiate with me? What you have means nothing to me, and I'm not letting Alex go."

Seeing his cold expression, Clara and David finally got it—no amount of begging would change Seb's mind.

"Seb, even though you're not blood, I've always seen you as my brother. How can you do this to us? You'll regret it one day!" David said, his voice shaking.

Disgust flashed in Seb's eyes as he pressed the bell to call his men to throw Clara and David out.

As the door to the ward opened and closed, Clara and David's curses faded, and Seb's face went back to calm.

In the Smith family, family ties were just tools for business.

After being tossed out of the hospital, Clara looked desperate. "David, what do we do now? If we lose Alex, I can't go on."

"If you hadn't said those things in the Smith Mansion's living room, Seb wouldn't have known... Forget it, there is no point talking about it now. I'll go see Dad and see if he has any ideas," David said.

With that, he turned and quickly walked away. Clara hesitated for a moment and hurried after him.

In the living room of the Edwards Villa, Grace, covered in bruises, sat numbly on the sofa watching the news. The villa was empty, silent except for the TV. The chandelier overhead cast a harsh, white light on Grace's face, marked with a handprint, making her look eerie.

Suddenly, her calm eyes flickered, and deep hatred filled them. The TV was broadcasting news of Sharon and Demetrius being kidnapped by Alex, and Seb getting seriously injured while rescuing them. Now, everyone knew Sharon wasn't dead.

Grace tightened her grip on the remote, her eyes fixed on Sharon's face, filled with overwhelming hatred. If it weren't for Sharon, she wouldn't have been forced by Seb to marry Victor, and these past five years wouldn't have been a living hell.

Five years ago, the Edwards Group was nearly bankrupted by Seb. If Seb hadn't suddenly lost his memory, Victor wouldn't have barely managed to save the Edwards Group. The Edwards Group survived, but it was left heavily in debt. With the Smith Group's relentless pressure, the Edwards Group had been struggling to stay afloat, just managing to avoid collapse.

After Victor and Grace got married, Victor initially just ignored her. As securing contracts for the Edwards Group became more challenging, Victor started taking out his frustrations on Grace, first through arguments and then through domestic violence. He even forced her to sleep with business partners to secure deals. When she refused, Victor drugged her and sent her over anyway. She had tried to escape, but Victor always caught her and beat her. Over time, Grace became numb to the abuse.

She never imagined that the Victor who once promised to love her forever and never let her get hurt would turn into this. It was also in these five years that she finally understood why Seb, knowing she was the one who caused Sharon to fall into the sea, didn't harm her but instead made her marry Victor. Seb was truly ruthless!

Grace thought she would be tormented by Victor until death. To her surprise, Sharon was not only alive, but she also had Seb's child!

The resentment and anger that had built up over the past five years surged like a tidal wave, nearly overwhelming her. The remote was hurled at the TV screen, instantly creating a spiderweb-like crack.

When David arrived at the ward, Tyler was about to rest, with a servant sitting nearby.

"Dad, something happened to Alex," David said urgently.

Tyler frowned and said coldly, "What does that have to do with me? Figure it out yourself."

Tyler remembered the last time he listened to Alex and made that video to post online. It got shot down so fast, and people came out of the woodwork to mock him. Even his friends called him a fool, which made his blood boil. Now, he deeply regretted letting David and Alex come back home. Not only did they fail to take back the Smith Group from Seb, but they also made him a laughingstock.

David forced a smile and walked to the bedside. "Dad, if you don't save Alex this time, no one else can. After all, he's your grandson."

Tyler cut him off, clearly annoyed. "Cut the crap. What did Alex do this time?"

David hesitated for a moment before spilling the beans about Alex kidnapping Sharon and Demetrius, but he left out the part about Alex using Demetrius to blackmail Seb and planning to kill the kid.

Tyler's face turned beet red, and he looked like he might pass out again. "What on earth have you and Clara been teaching Alex? How could you let him do something like this? Do you think Seb will listen to me now?"

Seeing Tyler's furious face, David didn't dare to mention that Seb already knew he wasn't part of the Smith family, fearing it would push Tyler over the edge.

"Dad, Alex indeed messed up, but he was just trying to use Sharon and Demetrius to force Seb to give up the Smith Group. He was just confused for a moment," David said, trying to downplay the situation.

"Confused for a moment?" Tyler's eyes widened in anger. "You call kidnapping someone being confused? Is Alex a child? I can't help him! I won't help him! From now on, I'll pretend I don't have this grandson. Get out of here! I never want to see you again!"

Thinking about everything that had happened since the three of them returned, Tyler felt irritated. Handing over his shares to such an unreliable Alex was worse than donating them to charity!

David looked shocked. "Dad, how can you be so heartless?"

"Get out! Just seeing your stupid face annoys me!" Tyler shouted.

Clara had just walked into the room when she heard Tyler scolding David. Seeing that Tyler wouldn't use his shares to save Alex, she immediately lost it and started cursing at Tyler. She was extremely emotional, her words harsh, as if she was releasing all the pent-up emotions from the past few years.

Tyler was furious, pointing at her with a trembling hand, and then he fainted.

The servant was startled and quickly called for a doctor and contacted Randy.

With Alex missing, Seb unable to come, and David and Clara unwilling to take care of Tyler, they could only call Randy.

When Randy arrived, Tyler was still in the operating room. Seeing David and Clara there with grim faces, Randy greeted them indifferently and looked at the servant.

"What happened? How did Grandpa suddenly faint again?" Randy asked.

The servant glanced cautiously at David and Clara, looking hesitant. It was easy to guess that Tyler's fainting was related to them. Randy turned to David, "Uncle David, what happened? What did you do to Grandpa?"

David stayed silent, his face dark and gloomy. When Tyler fainted, he thought, It might be better if Tyler just died. If Tyler died, he could inherit the estate. Apart from his shares, his cash and real estate alone would be enough for David to live comfortably for the rest of my life. As for Alex, hewould save him if he could, but if not, there was nothing he could do. When Alex had the idea of kidnapping Demetrius, he had advised against it, but Demetrius didn't listen. Now, it wasn't his fault.

Clara snorted coldly. "What could we have done to him? He fainted because he's weak. How can you blame us for that?"

Randy already had a poor impression of Clara, and his brows furrowed involuntarily, but he said nothing more. After all, he would find out what happened once Tyler's surgery was over.

This time, Tyler's surgery took an exceptionally long time, lasting over ten hours before the operating room light went off.

The doctor walked out, looking serious. "Mr. Tyler Smith's condition is very severe. He might suffer from partial paralysis. You need to be prepared."

Randy was in disbelief. "Doctor, how could my grandpa's condition suddenly become so severe? Didn't you say a few days ago that he was gradually recovering?"

The doctor frowned and said irritably, "I told you before not to agitate him. What did you do? If this happens again, not even God can save him!"

With that, the doctor left without expression.

Randy turned to the silent David and Clara, his voice icy. "Uncle David, I don't think Grandpa will want to see you when he wakes up. Please leave now!"

Randy had known before that David and Clara were only around Tyler for his shares. He just didn't expect them to agitate Tyler while he was still recovering. No matter what, Tyler was their father. How could they do such a thing?

David's face darkened. "Randy, it's not your place to lecture me, nor do I need you to tell me what to do. I'll leave when your grandpa wakes up."
