Chapter 65 Seb Bit Her
Sharon looked up at Alex and saw the apology in his eyes.
She nodded and said, "Yeah, I've thought about it too. I've been too cold to you, and between a married couple, there's no such thing as forgiveness or not."
Hearing this, Alex was stunned for a moment, then a flash of joy appeared in his eyes. "Sharon, are you serious?"
He had thought Sharon was still angry and was prepared to coax her, but to his surprise, her attitude had changed in just one morning, no longer cold and resistant as before.
Sharon's lips curled into a smile. "Of course, although I haven't completely forgiven you, I've realized I shouldn't keep being so standoffish with you. I'll move back to the villa in a couple of days."
"Really?" Although Alex didn't know why Sharon had suddenly changed her mind, ifwas willing to come back to him, nothing else mattered.
"Yeah, you can come pick me up then."
"Okay."
Seeing that Sharon's expression was no longer cold, Alex hesitated for a moment and carefully asked, "Sharon, can you have dinner with me tonight? We haven't eaten together in a long time."
Sharon was silent for a few seconds. Just when Alex thought she would refuse, she nodded. "Of course, just send me the location."
"I'll come pick you up." Alex was excited. He had a feeling that it wouldn't be long before Sharon forgave him.
"Okay." Sharon nodded.
After dropping Sharon off at the community gate, Alex left.
As soon as his car disappeared from sight, the smile on her face turned icy.
Now, if she wanted to investigate the Robert Pharmaceuticals incident thoroughly, she had to go back to Alex's side. Otherwise, she wouldn't have any chance to get close to David.
Sharon took a deep breath and slowly turned to walk back into the community.
In the evening, Alex drove to pick up Sharon.
When she appeared, Alex couldn't help but be stunned.
It was clear that Sharon had dressed up.
Although she was just wearing a dress and light makeup, she looked completely different from how she usually appeared when meeting him.
He said, "Sharon, you look beautiful today."
Sharon's eyes flickered, and she lowered her head shyly without saying anything. She opened the passenger door and got into the car.
Alex reached out to hold her hand, but she avoided him.
She said, "I only agreed to move back and try to improve our relationship. It doesn't mean I've forgiven you, so I don't want any intimate actions for now. I hope you understand."
Alex's eyes dimmed, then he nodded. "Yeah, I understand. I'll wait for the day you fully forgive me."
A hint of sarcasm flashed in Sharon's lowered eyes.
If she found out that the Robert Pharmaceuticals incident was indeed related to David, she would hate Alex and never forgive him.
Seeing her remain silent, Alex said nothing more and started the car.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a French restaurant.
As they got out of the car, they ran into Seb and Paul.
Seeing Sharon, Seb frowned, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes.
The doctor said she should be under observation for a few days.
Yet here she was, running around.
And she was with Alex.
Noticing Seb's gaze on Sharon, Alex frowned and stepped forward to block his view, saying in a deep voice, "What a coincidence, Uncle Seb, are you here for dinner too?"
Seb looked at him indifferently, his eyes devoid of any warmth. "Yeah, here for business."
Alex smiled. "Then Sharon and I won't disturb you, Uncle Seb. Sharon, let's go inside."
Sharon nodded and followed Alex into the restaurant with her head down.
Watching their backs, Seb's face turned so dark it looked like a storm was brewing.
The low pressure emanating from Seb made Paul inwardly groan. Why did he always have to suffer?
After hesitating for a moment, he braced himself and reminded, "Mr. Smith, the appointment time is approaching."
Seb said nothing, walking inside with a stormy expression.
Alex was in a great mood tonight. Sharon wasn't as cold as before, and he had won a round against Seb.
Under the candlelight, his gaze at Sharon softened greatly. "Sharon, I'm really happy you’re willing to give me another chance. I promise I won't let you down again!"
Sharon didn't really listen to Alex's words, nodding perfunctorily. "Yeah, I believe you."
She lowered her eyes and continued cutting her steak. The light poured down from above, creating a serene and beautiful scene.
Alex's eyes softened, full of affection.
Sharon didn't notice his expression, lost in thought about her earlier encounter with Seb.
She hadn't even greeted him; he must think she was ungrateful. But even if he thought that, he wouldn't be wrong. She planned to keep her distance from him.
If possible, Sharon wished she had never gotten involved with Seb. At least she wouldn't feel guilty now.
"Sharon?" Alex's voice pulled her back to reality.
Sharon looked up at him. " Sorry, I was too focused on cutting my steak and didn't hear you."
"I said for your birthday this year, I'll throw you a party at home to make it more lively."
Sharon shook her head. "No need, I don't like crowded places."
"Okay, if there's any gift you want, just let me know."
"Yeah."
Sharon put down her knife and fork and stood up. "I'm going to the restroom."
As she walked around the corner and was out of Alex's sight, Sharon finally felt relieved.
She had no feelings left for him, but forcing a smile in front of him was still exhausting. But it didn't matter; she would get used to it in time.
As long as she could uncover the truth about the incident, she could endure anything.
The restaurant was large, and the restroom was down a long hallway lined with private rooms.
After using the restroom, as Sharon walked past the first private room, the door suddenly opened, and a long hand reached out, pulling her inside.
She screamed, but the sound was quickly muffled by the door.
The private room was pitch black, and Sharon's heart pounded as she struggled, suddenly catching a whiff of pine mixed with alcohol.
It was Seb!
Sharon's struggles abruptly stopped, and she couldn't help but bite her lip. "Uncle Seb."
The next second, a sharp pain came from her lips.
Seb had bitten her.
Sharon was shocked and quickly tried to push him away, but he pinned her hands against the wall. She couldn't move, completely at his mercy.
She struggled desperately, filled with fear and terror.
Seb was Alex's uncle; this couldn't happen!
