Chapter 144 I Won't Leave Him

After a few seconds of silence, Seb said coldly, "I'll head over right after the meeting."

At noon, as soon as Sharon reached the top floor, Paul stopped her.

"Ms. Wright, Mr. Smith isn't in the office right now."

"Is he still in a meeting?"

Paul shook his head. "No, Tyler called him this morning, and he went back to the Smith Mansion. He hasn't returned yet."

Sharon's heart sank; she knew it was because of what happened this morning.

"Got it, Mr. Harris. Thanks for letting me know."

Seeing Sharon's calm expression, Paul frowned. "Ms. Wright, aren't you going over there?"

"Even if I go, it won't help. The Smith family will just get more upset seeing me now."

"This whole thing started because of you. Shouldn't you be standing with Mr. Smith to face it together?" Paul looked at Sharon with dissatisfaction, his tone turning cold.

He had no right to interfere in Seb's private matters, but Sharon's attitude made him feel Seb's efforts were in vain. Seb was fighting against the Smith family for Sharon, but she seemed to be hiding behind him, not sharing the burden.

"Mr. Harris, if he needs me to stand with him, he'll tell me himself, not have you relay the message."

Paul was furious, and his tone became even more impolite. "Since Ms. Wright says so, I have nothing more to say."

With that, he turned and left.

Sharon didn't get angry. Paul had been with Seb for many years, and it was normal for him to stand up for Seb.

As she stepped out of the elevator, she ran into Ashley, who was about to have lunch.

"Sharon, weren't you having lunch with Mr. Smith? Done so soon?"

"He had something come up last minute, so I'll order takeout."

Hearing this, Ashley linked arms with her and smiled. "Why order takeout? Let's go to the restaurant together!"

Sharon wanted to refuse, but before she could say anything, Ashley had already pulled her into the elevator.

Meanwhile, in the Smith family living room, Seb was kneeling, and Tyler was whipping his back with a cane.

"I'll ask you one more time, are you going to cut ties with Sharon or not?"

Seb straightened his back, looking stubbornly at Tyler without a hint of retreat in his eyes.

"Dad, no matter how many times you ask, my answer will be the same."

Tyler raised the cane and struck his back again, adding a new wound to Seb's already scarred back.

Alex, sitting nearby, looked pleased, feeling a sense of revenge. Seb's kick this morning still left him in pain, and Alex wished he could take the cane from Tyler and do it himself.

'It would be a shame if Sharon doesn't see this satisfying scene.' Thinking of this, Alex sneered and sent a photo to Sharon.

In the Silvercrest Group's employee dining room, Sharon immediately drew attention as she walked in. Almost everyone in the cafeteria was looking at her, most with malicious intent.

"I thought she'd be prettier. She must be really good at scheming to have both Smith men deeply in love with her."

"Mr. Smith is just playing with her. There's no way he'd marry a divorced woman. He'll dump her when he's tired of her."

"Some women just don't know their place!"

Ashley, furious, walked straight up to the women and sneered, "I was wondering what that awful smell was. Turns out, it's just jealousy!"

One of the women glared at Ashley. "We're just speaking the truth. And Sharon hasn't said anything, so why are you talking? Don't be her pawn. Who knows what tricks she used to get close to Mr. Smith!"

"If you have the skills, go get close to him yourself. If not, shut up! Saying Sharon is ugly—do you need me to buy you a mirror?"

"You!"

Ashley raised her chin. "What? If you have the guts, say what you just said to Mr. Smith's face. See if he keeps you gossipers in the company!"

The woman wanted to retort, but someone beside her pulled her back.

"Forget it, let's go."

The woman glared coldly at Ashley. "Just you wait!"

Ashley crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "Wait for what? Are you going to bite me?"

Seeing the woman's anger reignite, her companion quickly pulled her away.

Only after they walked away did Ashley turn back to Sharon.

"Sharon, don't mind them. They're just jealous."

Sharon's eyes flickered, and she said calmly, "Let's eat first."

Just as they sat down with their food, Sharon's phone buzzed.

It was a photo from an unknown number, but Sharon immediately recognized Seb in the picture.

Seeing his back covered in wounds, Sharon's pupils dilated, and she stood up abruptly.

Ashley was startled by her sudden movement and looked up. "Sharon, what's wrong?"

"I need to go out for a bit."

Sharon arrived at the Smith Mansion after half an hour.

Seeing Sharon, the servant's face turned ugly.

"Ms. Wright, please leave. You're not welcome here."

"I need to see Tyler."

"Mr. Smith won't see you."

Sharon's expression turned cold, and she sneered, "Are you sure you don't need to ask?"

"No need to ask. Leave now, or I'll call security!"

Sharon didn't say anything and directly called the number that had sent the photo.

"Did you see the photo?" Alex's voice was filled with amusement, as if he was in a good mood.

"I'm at the Smith Mansion gate."

With that, Sharon hung up.

Soon, Alex sent a servant to bring Sharon inside.

As Sharon stepped into the living room, she saw Tyler raising the cane to strike Seb's back again.

She paused, her expression turning icy.

Alex sat on the sofa, ready to enjoy the show.

Seb caught a glimpse of Sharon entering from the corner of his eye and thought he was hallucinating.

When he turned and saw it was really her, Seb frowned and said angrily, "What are you doing here? Go back!"

Sharon ignored Seb's angry gaze and slowly walked to his side.

Tyler sneered, "Perfect timing. I was planning to find you anyway. Since you're here, let's make things clear. If you leave Seb, I'll let it slide. Otherwise, you won't like the consequences!"

Catching the flash of murderous intent in Tyler's eyes, Sharon's lips curled up, and she said word by word, "I won't leave him unless he wants me to."
