Chapter 408 "I'm not satisfied with your answer, so I'll keep kissing you."

Jerold was taken aback for a second, then quickly yanked his hand away from Ayla. "No way! He beat me up like this, he has to be expelled!"

He used to be the big shot in class, everyone would butter him up, and Jerold loved all the attention. But ever since Demetrius showed up, all those kids who used to hang out with him started playing with Demetrius, leaving him all alone.

The only way to get his friends back was to get rid of Demetrius.

Seeing Jerold's angry little face, Ayla sighed, squatted down, and looked at him gently, "Jerold, Demetrius's dad is really powerful. Neither your dad nor I can mess with him. If you really don't want to see Demetrius, how about I transfer you to another school?"

"No, I don't want to transfer! Mom, didn't you say you could do anything? Why can't you even get the principal to expel Demetrius? You're a big liar! I will never believe you again!" Jerold suddenly pushed her away and bolted towards the door.

Ayla, caught off guard, fell to the ground. A sharp pain shot through her hip, making Ayla wince. Seeing Jerold running away without looking back, she got really mad and got up to chase after him.

Just as Jerold was about to run out of The Bridges Villa, Ayla grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back.

Jerold's face was streaked with tears as he punched and kicked Ayla, shouting non-stop. "Liar! Let go of me, you're a bad mom! A useless mom! I don't want a useless mom like you!"

Even though he was just a kid, he fought with all his might, and it hurt Ayla quite a bit. Ayla was already mad about him pushing her earlier, and now she was even more furious.

"Jerold!" Her voice was stern, and her expression was ice-cold.

Jerold was startled, then started crying even louder, "Bad mom! You're mean to me! I hate you!"

"Shut up!" Ayla shouted.

Jerold ignored her and cried even louder.

Ayla's expression hardened as she looked at Jerold. Without a word, she opened the door and forcibly dragged him out of the Bridges Villa, her grip unyielding as she headed toward the neighboring villa.

Seeing Ayla's tense face, Jerold got even more scared, crying and struggling harder. "Let go of me! I want to find Great-grandfather, I don't want to go with you!"

But as a small child, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't match the strength of an adult, so he was quickly dragged back to the villa by Ayla.

After pulling him into the living room and locking the villa door, Ayla looked down at him coldly. "Keep crying, let's see how long you can cry."

"I want to find Great-grandfather," Jerold said.

"Even if you find your Great-grandfather, it won't help. He can't afford to mess with Demetrius's dad either. You have two choices now: first, I transfer you to another school; second, accept Demetrius's apology and get along with him," Ayla said.

"I won't." He glared at Ayla, "I'll wait for Dad to come back!"

Usually, Leo spoiled Jerold, giving him almost anything he wanted.

But now...

Ayla sneered, "Your dad can't help you this time. If you keep being disobedient, your dad might not want you anymore after a while!"

In the evening, Sharon was about to get off work when Ariana motioned for her to look outside the window.

Sharon turned her head and saw Seb standing outside, a look of surprise flashing in her eyes. Seb was rocking a gray suit, his eyes locked on her with that soft, loving look.

Ariana nudged her, "Sharon, you should go. I'll handle the rest. Don't keep Mr. Smith waiting."

Catching the teasing tone in Ariana's voice, Sharon couldn't help but grin, "Alright, thanks. I'll bring you breakfast tomorrow."

"Deal," Ariana replied.

As Sharon walked out of the lab, she took off her lab coat.

"Why are you off work so early today?" Sharon asked.

Usually, she was the one who got off work first, and sometimes when Seb worked late, she'd hang around reading some literature in the office.

Seb looked down at her. Today, Sharon was in a dress, her long hair simply tied back, looking neat and capable, her face makeup-free but still stunning.

"The meeting wrapped up early. When do you get off work?" Seb asked.

"I just need to tidy up my desk and then I can leave," Sharon said.

Seb nodded, "Alright, I'll wait for you here."

Sharon headed back to the office, and while she was tidying up, Jake walked up to her. "Sharon, aren't you curious about Ariana's situation?"

Sharon paused for a moment, then looked up at him, her expression calm, "No, it's her personal matter. Asking too much would only make her uncomfortable. If she needs my help, she'll tell me. If she doesn't say anything, it means she doesn't want to talk about it. There's no need to press further."

Jake frowned but couldn't argue with Sharon's logic. "Alright."

"Don't ask her about it anymore. If she wants to talk, she'll tell us," Sharon said.

Jake nodded, said nothing more, and turned to leave.

Sharon finished tidying up and walked out of the office, "Let's go."

Seb took her bag and asked calmly, "What did Jake want to talk to you about?"

Sharon looked at him in surprise, "You actually know his name."

"Isn't he in the same lab as you? I've met him a few times before," Seb said.

"Okay," Sharon said.

Seeing Sharon lower her eyes and not say anything more, Seb said frustratedly, "You haven't answered my question."

As soon as he finished speaking, Sharon looked up with a smile, raising an eyebrow, "If I don't tell you, are you going to get jealous again?"

"No, you're overthinking it," Seb replied.

"But your expression doesn't seem to say that," Sharon said.

Seb remained silent.

Seeing him with a stern face, not saying anything, Sharon smiled brightly, "He came to ask me about something related to Ariana, nothing else."

"Alright," Seb said.

The two fell silent, and they didn't speak again until they got in the car.

On the way back, Sharon thought for a long time and decided to tell Seb about what happened at the kindergarten at noon.

After hearing it, Seb's face turned grim, "You don't need to worry about this anymore. I'll handle it."

Sharon thought about it and realized that Seb should indeed be involved in dealing with Demetrius's situation so that they could bond more quickly.

She agreed, "Okay."

Seb took out his phone and called Paul, "Look into what happened with Demetrius at the kindergarten this morning, as soon as possible."

After hanging up, he looked at Sharon and asked about Demetrius's injuries. Knowing that Demetrius only had some scratches on his face, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Soon, the car stopped at the villa's entrance.

A red BMW was parked by the villa door, blocking Seb's car. Noticing Seb's displeasure, Aubrey quickly said, "Mr. Smith, I'll go see who it is."

"Alright," Seb replied.

As soon as Aubrey got out of the car, the driver's door of the BMW across from them opened, and Ayla, dressed in a pure white business suit, stepped out.

She walked straight to the rear window on Seb's side and gently knocked on it. "Mr. Smith, I believe you've heard about the fight between Demetrius Roach and my son at school. I'm here today to discuss how to resolve this matter with you."

Seb lowered the window, his face expressionless. "How does Ms. Bridges want to resolve it?"

Ayla hadn't anticipated Seb's dismissive attitude. After all, it was Demetrius who pushed Jerold, causing Jerold to get hurt. Despite Seb's accustomed air of arrogance, a touch of decency wouldn't have been too much to ask, would it?

If it were someone else, Ayla would have gone straight to the police station to report it. Why would she be here, humbly discussing how to resolve it?

Remembering her purpose for coming, Ayla forced herself to suppress her anger, her smile flawless.

"Mr. Smith, would you mind discussing this inside?" Ayla said.

Seb's eyes narrowed, his gaze turning even colder. He remained silent, making no move to respond or invite her in.

The atmosphere instantly became awkward, but Ayla's expression didn't change at all. She continued to smile at Seb, seemingly waiting for his response.

After a minute of tense silence, Ayla's smile finally became a bit strained. "Mr. Smith?"

"Ms. Bridges, if I remember correctly, you threatened Sharon with calling the police at school today, didn't you?" Seb turned to look at her, his gaze icy.

Ayla's face turned pale, her smile almost faltering. "Mr. Smith, I was just angry at the time. After all, seeing my son hurt, I couldn't stay calm."

As she spoke, she looked at Sharon. "Ms. Roach, I'm sorry. I was a bit emotional this afternoon. I hope you don't take it to heart."

A look of surprise flashed in Sharon's eyes. She hadn't expected Ayla's attitude to change so much in just one afternoon.

"Ms. Bridges, I understand how you feel," Sharon said.

As a mother herself, if Demetrius had been the one injured, Sharon might not have been any calmer than Ayla.

Seeing Sharon's calm expression, Seb glanced at Ayla. "Ms. Bridges, come to my office tomorrow to discuss this."

A look of joy flashed in Ayla's eyes, and she quickly said, "Alright!"

"Can you move your car now?" Seb said.

A look of embarrassment crossed Ayla's face. "I'll do it right away."

She turned and quickly walked back to her car. Soon, the red BMW moved, and Seb had Aubrey drive into the garage.

Seb and Sharon got out of the car and walked into the villa. The scene that greeted them was that Demetrius was seated on the floor of the living room, engrossed in constructing an elaborate tower of building blocks, seemingly oblivious to their return.

Seb walked over to Demetrius and saw the small wounds on his face, his eyes darkening.

"Did this happen during the fight with Ayla's child?" Seb asked.

Sharon nodded. "Yes, but his injuries aren't serious. The child he fought with has a large gash on his forehead, and it looks like it will need stitches."

Her voice was soft, but Demetrius suddenly looked up, stubbornly correcting her, "Mom, I didn't fight with him. He fell by himself."

Sharon was taken aback for a moment, then quickly apologized, "Demetrius, I'm sorry, I misspoke."

Demetrius nodded and went back to his building blocks. Seeing Demetrius so focused, Seb sat down across from him, smiling. "Demetrius, do you want me to play with you?"

"No, I like playing by myself," Demetrius replied.

Demetrius had played with Seb several times before, and he always lost. So he didn't want to play with Seb anymore.

Being rejected by Demetrius, Seb wasn't angry. He raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Are you afraid of losing to me?"

Demetrius glanced at him but said nothing. The look said it all, "You know, so why ask?"

"Demetrius, as a boy, you should be brave and keep challenging yourself until you win," Seb said.

Demetrius didn't even look at him, just added another block.

"Dad, I play with blocks to be happy. Competing with you and losing every time makes me unhappy and defeats the purpose of playing," Demetrius retorted.

Seb was momentarily speechless, feeling like he couldn't argue with that.

After a few seconds of silence, Seb spoke again, "Demetrius, I want to know what happened at school today. Can you tell me?"

"I already told Mom. You can ask her," Demetrius said, not wanting to repeat the same story multiple times.

Seb fell silent.

Seeing Seb get rejected, Sharon stood by, trying not to laugh.

On the way back, she had told Seb what Demetrius had told her. Seb now wanted Demetrius to repeat it, hoping to talk more with him, but Demetrius wasn't having it.

Seeing Sharon's slightly upturned lips, Seb raised an eyebrow and stood up. "Sharon, come to the study with me."

Sharon looked up in surprise, meeting Seb's deep eyes, her fingers unconsciously curling. "What's up? Is something wrong?"

"Yes, something very important, related to Demetrius," Seb said.

Sharon frowned slightly. "Alright."

Following Seb into the study, as soon as the door closed, Sharon was about to ask what was going on when she felt an arm around her waist.

The next second, she was pressed against the door.

The scent of pine from Seb's body filled her senses, and Sharon froze, instinctively trying to push him away.

However, the difference in strength between men and women was too great. Her resistance had no effect on Seb.

"Seb, what are you doing? Let go of me!" Sharon said.

Seb looked down at her, a faint smile on his lips. "Why were you laughing when I was talking to Demetrius earlier?"

A look of guilt flashed in Sharon's eyes. She hadn't expected Seb to notice her laughing. But she couldn't admit it now.

She looked up at Seb, her face innocent. "What are you talking about? I don't understand. When did I laugh?"

Seeing her denial, Seb wasn't angry. His smile deepened.

"Looks like I need to remind you," Seb said.

"How?" Sharon asked.

Her lips were suddenly kissed.

The study was very quiet, with only the sound of their heartbeats.

After a long kiss, Sharon's legs were a bit weak. She glared at Seb in embarrassment and anger. "Seb, don't go too far."

Seb raised an eyebrow. "Do you understand what I meant earlier now? If not, I can remind you again."

Before he could finish, Sharon quickly covered her lips with her hand, her eyes wide. "I understand!"

"Then tell me, why were you laughing earlier? If your answer doesn't satisfy me, I'll keep kissing you," Seb said gently.
