Chapter 598 I Agree to Your Terms

Carolyn's face was flushed with anger. "Dash, I can't believe you're accusing me of this. I've never tried to ruin the Stoll family. Ever since I took over, I've been busting my butt for this family. If you don't believe me, there's nothing more I can say."

"If you all want to deal with the Carter Tech Company issue first, then this meeting is over. We'll talk about it again after I find my daughter!"

With that, Carolyn stood up and stormed out of the room.

As soon as she was gone, the room buzzed with whispers. Most of the comments were about how Carolyn shouldn't be running the Stoll family anymore, fearing she'd cause more damage.

All eyes turned to Dash, some filled with anger.

"Dash, you've always backed Carolyn. Did you know she was turning Carter Tech Company into her own personal business?"

"I bet he knew. Carolyn must have given him some perks, so he looked the other way."

"If Dash had really taken any perks, he wouldn't have said those things to Carolyn just now. I trust Dash."

Dash let out a cold laugh, standing up to survey the room. "Whether you trust me or not doesn't matter to me. I only fight for my own interests. Say whatever you want."

Without waiting for their reactions, Dash turned and left.

Mary's lips curled into a smile as she quickly got up to follow him.

"Mr. Dash, do you have time later? I'd like to invite you to dinner."

Dash glanced at Mary, his expression icy. "Mary, I have work to do. No time."

Mary's smile faltered for a moment but quickly returned. "Dash, I want to discuss Jeremy and Carolyn with you. Whenever you have time, please contact me."

"Mary, I don't think I'll have time. Even though Carolyn hasn't managed the Stoll family well, that doesn't mean I'll let Ewan take over."

As he spoke, Dash glanced disdainfully at Ewan, who stood behind Mary. Letting Ewan manage the Stoll family would be worse than keeping Carolyn in charge.

Ewan and Gareth were just spoiled brats.

Under Dash's oppressive gaze, Ewan's face turned pale, and he didn't dare meet his eyes.

Dash sneered and walked away, his retreating figure exuding coldness.

Once he was out of sight, Ewan spoke up, displeased. "Dash looks down on us!"

Mary remained calm. "It's normal for him to look down on us. After all, in his eyes, I'm Jeremy's mistress, and you're Jeremy's illegitimate son. But it doesn't matter. Soon, I'll show him who really calls the shots in the Stoll family!"

Meanwhile, Carolyn returned to the estate, her face as cold as ice.

Seeing her expression, the butler quickly asked, "Mrs. Roach, did something happen?"

"Nothing. Bring a pot of coffee to my study."

"Yes, ma'am."

Back in her study, Carolyn threw her bag onto the sofa, her face full of anger.

How dare Dash treat her like this?

They were supposed to be on the same side, yet he had sided with Mary to make things difficult for her in front of everyone.

She had really misjudged him!

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She picked up her phone and dialed Dash's number.

The phone rang twice before he answered. "Carolyn, what is it?"

"Come to the estate right now!"

He chuckled lightly. "Carolyn, if this is about Carter Tech Company, there's no need for a private meeting. We'll discuss it publicly once you find Sharon."

Carolyn suppressed her anger. "Why are you openly opposing me?"

He could have said something privately, but he chose to embarrass her in front of everyone.

"I'm not opposing you. You're just too greedy. You transferred Carter Tech Company's shares to your daughter to use the annual dividends to threaten us into keeping you in charge of the Stoll family, right?"

Dash's mocking tone felt like a slap to Carolyn's face, making her even angrier.

"Dash, don't forget, you should be on my side!"

Dash laughed. "I said I only speak for my own interests. I supported you before because our interests aligned. But now, you're harming my interests. Carolyn, we're opponents now, not partners."

"You!"

"If I were you, I'd focus on finding Sharon quickly before things get even more out of control."

Carolyn took a deep breath. "So, Dash, you're not going to support me anymore, right?"

"Correct. I hope you take care of yourself."

With that, Dash hung up.

Carolyn threw her phone across the room, her face dark with rage.

She was now surrounded by enemies on all sides.

An hour later, Gage entered Carolyn's study.

Carolyn had calmed down, but her gaze was still icy. "Gage, I asked you to find Sharon and Seb. Why haven't you found them yet?"

"Mrs. Carolyn, our people are trying, but there's a force working against us. I think we should ask Alton for help. His intelligence network is..."

Before he could finish, Carolyn cut him off coldly. "Enough. Keep looking."

"Yes, ma'am."

Seeing Carolyn's grim expression, Gage didn't dare ask further and left.

Carolyn put down her documents and picked up her phone, finding Alton's number but hesitating to call.

She remembered Alton's previous words and her own declaration to cut ties with him. In the end, she put the phone down without calling.

She could find Sharon without him; it was just a matter of time.

Meanwhile, Alton was preparing to send Sharon and the others back to Metropolis.

Although Carolyn had control over Robert, she ensured he received the best care, so his health was stable enough for the long flight back.

"Aunt Carolyn won't hold out much longer. You just need to hang on for another two weeks. I'll arrange for my private jet to take you back."

Sharon nodded. "Thank you."

"It's my duty. After all, I'm Demetrius's mentor and your brother."

Sharon lowered her eyes. "Thank you. If it weren't for you, I might have been caught by her already."

Seeing her lingering wariness, Alton smiled and stood up. "I have some matters to attend to. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay."

After Alton left, Sharon turned to Seb. "We can really go back together, right?"

Seeing the worry in her eyes, Seb hugged her. "We will. Trust me."

Sharon didn't say anything, resting quietly in Seb's arms.

But her heart was filled with unease.

Gage searched for three more days without finding Sharon. Meanwhile, dissatisfaction with Carolyn grew within the Stoll family, with some openly declaring they wouldn't support her anymore and calling for new leadership.

Carolyn was overwhelmed and frustrated.

The stress caused her to faint and end up in the hospital again.

When she woke up, the doctor warned her that she couldn't keep pushing herself like this, or her health would suffer.

"I understand. I'd like some time alone, please."

Seeing that Carolyn wasn't listening, the doctor sighed and left.

Hearing the door close, Carolyn stared out the window, her eyes lost.

She had spent years striving to become the Stoll family's leader, but now her son had lost a leg, one daughter hated her, the other wouldn't listen, and the family she wanted to control was slipping away.

Carolyn wondered if she had been wrong from the start.

The butler found her staring out the window in a daze.

He sighed and closed the window.

"Mrs. Carolyn, you really can't keep pushing yourself like this."

Carolyn didn't respond, still staring out the window, lost in thought.

The butler didn't press further, setting the food he brought on the table.

"Mrs. Carolyn, please eat something."

Carolyn got out of bed, picked up a fork, and began eating.

After finishing, she looked at the butler. "Contact Alton and ask him to come."

The butler's eyes lit up with joy. "Yes, right away."

He had wanted to persuade Carolyn to reconcile with Alton, but she had been too busy. Now that she was willing to reach out, it was the best news.

Within an hour, Alton arrived at the hospital.

He sat by the bed, his expression cold. "What do you need?"

Carolyn chuckled. "You won't even call me 'aunt' anymore?"

Alton lowered his eyes. "We cut ties, remember?"

"Alton, you know why I called."

Alton nodded. "I said before, if you let Sharon go, I'll help you. Sharon staying in Stellaria is pointless. Why make her suffer?"

Carolyn was silent for a while before looking at Alton. "You've been helping her and Seb hide, haven't you?"

"Yes."

Carolyn sneered. "And you took Robert too?"

"Yes."

The room fell silent. After a long pause, Carolyn spoke. "Fine. I agree to your terms. I'll let her go and won't bother her again. But in return, you help me eliminate those blocking my control of the Stoll family."
