Chapter 190 Who Are You Pretending to Be a Good Person For?

Sharon looked at her coldly. "I have nothing to say to you."

Grace forced a bitter smile. "I know you hate me. I took Seb away as soon as I got back."

"Miss Hall, you're overthinking it. I don't like you, but I don't hate you either. If it's just your wishful thinking, it won't affect my relationship with Seb."

Seb was the one who gave Grace the chance to mess things up between them.

Grace's eyes flickered, her face pale. "Ms. Wright, you get Seb for life, but I only have three months. Can you give me this time? After that, I'll leave and never bother you again."

Sharon frowned. "It's pointless. Seb and I have already broken up. Whether you're with him for three months or three years, it's none of my business."

With that, Sharon walked past her and left.

Grace was about to stop her when her phone rang.

Seeing it was Ava, a look of disgust crossed her face, but she answered anyway.

"What is it?"

"Grace, you're going to get me killed. The Smith family suppressed that video, and it's lost all attention. They won't let me off!"

"What are you scared of? Now everyone in Metropolis knows you're married to Alex. If something happens to you, they'll blame the Smith family."

Ava sneered. "Easy for you to say. If something happens to me, I won't let you off either!"

Grace frowned, but before she could respond, Ava hung up.

Not long after, there was a strange noise at the door.

Ava was startled. She slowly walked to the door and looked through the peephole but saw nothing.

Just as she thought she had misheard, something banged against the door with a dull thud.

"Who's out there?"

Ava's face filled with panic, but there was no response.

As she hesitated about calling the police, a weak voice came through.

"Ava, open the door."

Recognizing Alex's voice, Ava's expression changed, and she quickly opened the door.

Seeing the scene outside, Ava screamed and instinctively stepped back.

Alex was sprawled on the ground, looking a mess. His suit was torn, and he was covered in bruises and cuts. His face was also injured, far from his usual well-dressed appearance.

He looked like a street bum.

Realizing what had happened, Ava rushed to help him, tears streaming down her face.

"Alex, who did this to you? Did you call the police?"

Half-conscious, Alex struggled to open his eyes and weakly said, "Don't call the police. Use my phone to call Milton Patterson and ask him to come over."

"You're all beaten up, and you don't want to call the police?"

Alex tried to speak, but as soon as he opened his mouth, he spat out blood.

Ava was terrified. "Don't talk. I won't call the police. Let me help you to the couch first."

After helping Alex to the couch, Ava quickly picked up his phone and called Milton.

"Dr. Patterson, please come quickly. Alex is seriously injured."

On her way home, Sharon got another call from the same unknown number.

This time, she didn't hang up but answered.

"Hello."

The voice on the other end was excited and shaky. "Ms. Wright, you finally answered! I'm Vincent Coleman. My father, Percy Coleman, was one of the workers who died in the Robert Pharmaceuticals accident six years ago. I saw the news about you sending David to jail and wanted to meet you. I have some evidence. Do you have time now?"

Sharon remembered the name Percy.

"Are you really a family member of the victim?"

"If you don't believe me, Ms. Wright, we can meet somewhere. I assure you, I mean no harm. I just want to give you the evidence and hope you can seek justice for my father and the other victims!"

Sharon paused for a few seconds. "I'll give you an email address. Send it to me directly."

"I'm afraid that's not possible. I need to see you in person and hand over the evidence."

Vincent's voice was cautious, showing he didn't fully trust her.

"I need to think about meeting you."

"Okay, but I'll only be in Metropolis for three days. If you don't contact me within three days, I'll leave."

"Alright."

After hanging up, Sharon immediately contacted Brian to investigate Vincent.

She had come too far to easily trust Vincent's words.

Soon, Brian called back.

"Ms. Wright, I've found out. Vincent Coleman is currently at Metropolis General Hospital. His daughter is sick, and he brought her for a check-up. He has a ticket to leave in three days."

Sharon lowered her eyes. "Is his father named Percy Coleman?"

"Yes, his father was one of the victims of the accident six years ago."

"Okay, I understand. Thank you."

Putting down her phone, Sharon pondered whether to meet Vincent.

Vincent was indeed the son of Percy Coleman, a victim of the accident, but Sharon couldn't be sure if he really had evidence.

After much thought, Sharon decided not to meet him.

She sent a text to Vincent.

Sharon: [Mr. Coleman, I get ur concerns, but the Smith fam is already involved. Even if I get the evidence from u, I can't ensure David will go to jail. Decided not to meet you. Hope u understand.]

Upon receiving the text, Vincent cursed and immediately called Leo.

"That bitch is too cautious. She won't meet me."

Leo frowned and coldly said, "She has a name."

Vincent sneered. "Stop pretending to be a good guy. Weren't you the one who asked me to set her up?"

A look of displeasure flashed in Leo's eyes. "If she refused, then go to Silvercrest Group and find her yourself."

"Got it."

Sharon didn't receive any reply from Vincent by the time she went to bed that night.

She didn't dwell on it, turned off her phone, and went to sleep.

The next morning, as soon as Sharon parked her car, someone knocked on her window.

Turning to see an unfamiliar man outside, Sharon cautiously rolled down the window a bit.

"Can I help you?"

"Ms. Wright, I'm Vincent Coleman. Since you wouldn't meet me, I had to come find you."

As they spoke, Seb's car also entered the underground parking lot.

Seeing the man leaning on Sharon's car window, Seb felt he looked familiar, as if he had seen him somewhere before.

He frowned. "Stop the car!"
